24.01.2022 Help my husband and I support Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support this Father’s Day by joining our ‘Choosing Hope Walk Your Way’ team or by making a small donation Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads, and all the soon to be Dads. Although a day of celebration for many, I know it can also be a day filled with much sadness for some; perhaps a little more than usual this year for those currently in isolation. So, I write this post with a special thought in my ...heart for those of you with a dad in heaven, and for those dads without your angel babies to hold, or with the hope of welcoming a baby earth side soon. May your day be treating you gently and with kindness. Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support is a charity near and dear to my heart, they provide ongoing comfort, support and counselling to parents and families who have experienced the loss of a baby during pregnancy, birth and infancy. This October, they are running a special virtual event called ‘Choosing Hope - Walk Your Way’, a walk of honour and remembrance, in support of bereaved families. Today, being Father’s Day, my husband Chris and I thought was the perfect time to register for this event, and so have created a team called ‘Rainbow Walk of Hope’. Feel free to join our team by clicking into the below link. Select REGISTER, and when prompted if you would like to join as a team or an individual, select team and join by searching for ‘Rainbow Walk of Hope’: https://www.choosinghope.com.au/ OR, if you would prefer to make a small donation, click into the below link to show your support: https://walkyourway.choosinghope.com.au/p/rainbowwalkofhope A big thank you to my husband Chris for walking with me this October. Happy Father’s Day, thank you for being the best dad ever to our little blessing Evelyn, and thank you for being the greatest mentor I could ever have asked for, for James. 22.01.2022 Tomorrow Im talking all things business on The Business of Design panel hosted by Emily Osmond at the Australian Gift & Homewares Association (AGHA) Sydney Gift Fair at Sydney Olympic Park. Joining me will be the lovely Sarah Yarrow Interiors, Interior Designer, and fellow student from Emilys The Modern Marketing Collective. Thrilled with this opportunity, and admittedly a tad nervous, but Im in great company and cannot wait to chat candidly about the realities of bus...iness and marketing. Well be chatting about why we got started, our biggest challenges then and now, how our businesses have evolved, what works best when it comes to marketing our businesses, and so much more. If you are heading down to the AGHA Sydney Gift Fair, come say hi, at 10am, in the Dome. The Business of Design session is FREE, along with the Fair just go to agha.com.au and follow the link. The Fair starts tomorrow and runs right through to Feb 24. Super excited to also be meeting the lovely Jen Bishop from Interiors Addict over at her FREE Masterclass Getting Your Brand in The Media at 12pm. With business, its so important to be open to learning, and challenging yourself, such as stepping outside my comfort zone and accepting this invitation to feature on Emilys panel. For anyone that has met Emily, how could you ever say no ; a legend when it comes to all things Marketing and Instagram, Emily helps entrepreneurs stop pointless posting, grow their brand and make more sales from Instagram, so if this sounds of interest to you, head on over to Emily Osmond. My first-year membership with The Modern Marketing Collective has been invaluable - the learnings, the opportunities, the networking, and even some beautiful new friendships. I can not wait to see what the year ahead has installed for my business and for my fellow members businesses too. My advice if youre looking to start your own business - be PASSIONATE + RESILIENT + PERSISTENT! In business it is inevitable, that voice in your head will question why you are doing what you are doing more times than youll care to admit. My passion, resilience, and persistence keep me ticking. Whats your advice? L-R: Sarah, Emily & I The Grounds of Alexandria @ Sydney Olympic Park See more
22.01.2022 This time last week, post Australian Gift & Homewares Association (AGHA) Sydney Gift Fair, I was on such a high. Had a ball taking part in my first panel ever, The Business of Design, run by Emily Osmond; an absolute legend in helping entrepreneurs serve & sell with Instagram. Honoured to be in such great company, and share the panel with the super talented Sarah Yarrow, Interior Designer from Sarah Yarrow Interiors, and Jennie, designer of elegant womens business shirts f...rom The Shirt Muse. I have to be honest, leading up to the event, after the initial pinch myself moment, that voice in my head, kept asking the same questionsWhy you? Youre not successful enough? What do you have to share that is of any interest to anyone? Imposter syndrome was setting in, but I certainly was not going to let it take hold, grateful for the opportunity, I was ready to step outside my comfort zone. Thanks to the incredible attendees, any self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy melted away within moments of the panel getting kick started. Hands down, the biggest highlight for me, were the connections I made that day. Here is what Aimee, from Inspired Surprises had to say - Thank you for your honesty, heart-felt sharing the other day. It was so refreshing and helpful. and Chlenelle from @c_a_interiors - I really resonated with you and your story! I left the seminar feeling inspired and at ease because I found out that we all share a common ground in everything I feel Big thank you also to Shilpa, from @shilpsdesigns for taking the time to come up and thank us in person post panel and share with us her current work journey. Turns out, speaking the truth, about business, the ups and downs, the highs and lows, all the challenges, lessons learned and everything in between, makes the journey feel a little less lonely. We all connected, by speaking candidly, zero smoke and mirrors. Can't wait for my next panel opportunity. TAG in some connections you have made lately, and tell them what makes them great! @ Sydney Olympic Park

21.01.2022 Is the right home right under your nose? Chris & I have lost a lot of sleep, trying to work out what the right home for us is, where it is, & how to make the change. Our dream is to own a cottage on some land, with privacy & peace. You know the one with the driveway lined by trees that would be shedding their autumn leaves as we speak, picket fence out front, cute cottage garden, chook pen out back, wrap around veranda, cladded walls, tin roof & pastel coloured front door ...& matching colour letterbox. A huge shed so Chris can tinker away on his bike, & store all his tools & ride on mower on one side, & on the other, for me to create a floral bar. A vegie garden to potter in & perhaps space so we can plant a mini orchard. A butlers pantry to get lost in, a crackling wood fire to cosy around, & a mudroom because just how practical are they? Weve even considered a sea change, or heading back to my old neighbourhood to pick up a renovators delight. Weve gone full circle & realised that its just not our time, Evelyn starts school next year, & the want for stability was why this was all weighing on us so much, to be settled & ready for at least the primary school years ahead. It doesnt mean we cant plan for change, but for now, we have something perfectly fantastic right under our noses. Easy access to schools, work, amenities; beautiful parklands at our doorstep, & a functional home that we . With a lot to be grateful for, the best thing to do right now is to stay put! As the budget nerds that we are, well continue to knuckle down & save, tap away at our mortgage & instead of moving, make a few little tweaks around here addressing the things that irk us. First irk well be addressing is storage, starting with some smart storage solutions for our walk-in-wardrobe & pantry. First stop @ikea_australia. If like us youd love some guidance realising the potential of your home, my DIY Home Styling Consultations will help you your home again, ensuring comfort, functionality & happiness for many years to come. What irks you at home? The view from our master bedroom. One of the spaces at home I the most, especially in Autumn. @ The Ponds See more

20.01.2022 DIY Home Styling: Making your bathroom feel a little more special Todays HEART YOUR HOME challenge by the lovely Jen Bishop from Interiors Addict is about making your bathroom or powder room feel a little more special by doing something small. My iceberg roses are in full bloom, so they were the perfect something small to make my bathroom feel a little more special today. Evelyn quickly popped on her gum boots and popped out to help me take some cuttings whilst the ...rain fell on us both. These small delights are amplified and filled with joy during isolation. Slowing down and enjoying these moments is one of my many silver linings to an otherwise surreal time. How stunning are they? I adore roses, and white florals in particular are my favourite choice when it comes to brightening up and styling a bathroom. I often suggest potted white orchids to my clients preparing to sell. A much cheaper option in the long run than buying fresh florals each and every week ahead of open home. A potted orchid will last you beyond your selling period and you can take it to your next home to love and enjoy. Pictured here in my favourite vase, which by the way is a repurposed jar, and nestled in a rustic pot base, accompanied by my gorgeous mug made with love by Ruth from @barakeepottery that I have used as a little candle holder in this instance. All these lovelies are sitting on a stool (that also works beautifully as a side table - love versatile pieces) from @sataraliving. My favourite pieces to style a bathroom with: Indoor plants Potted florals or cuttings Candles Luxury soaps & moisturises Fluffy new towels Your turn now. Make your bathroom or powder room feel a little more special by doing something small. Feel free to share your work, or if you need a hand, get in touch. If you havent shown Jen some love yet, head on over to @interiorsaddict, and for your chance to WIN one of the daily prizes, join some or all of her FUN challenges designed to make us love our home a little more. 20.01.2022 Open For Inspection Sat 12 Sep, 10-10:30am - 11a Baron Close, Kings Langley So proud of my clients, who Styled this Investment Property for Sale, all by themselves, following a DIY Property Styling Consultation with me. How fabulous does it look?... Typically, in my consultations, I chat to my clients about what to declutter. This being an Investment Property, it was more about what to introduce, in particular some of the bigger ticket items such as furniture, remembering, this was an Investment Property so they were greeted with an empty shell once tenants moved out. Hats off to these two sisters, that even prior to meeting, had started to spruce up their Property with a fresh coat of paint, and introduce some pieces. We also played around with layouts, discussed how to style beds, etc, and agreed on some small new purchases that would help further enhance their Property. A lot of what you see, these sisters grabbed from their own homes, and even borrowed various items from their mum. The goal was to Prepare this Investment Property for Sale, using pretty much what these sisters already had, or could borrow, other than a few smaller purchases, to keep costs to a minimum. I think they've achieved this beautifully. This Property has been styled just enough to show interested buyers exactly how each space can be used. My first priority is always to help my clients work with what they already have on hand, then we talk about what they could borrow, and only then do we discuss any small purchases to further enhance their Property. Mindful purchases that they can then enjoy in their next home, eliminating wastage, and any unnecessary spend. Thank you @chris.decelis for gifting this DIY Property Styling Consultation to your clients, with compliments of @theavenuerealestate, and good luck to you and your clients with the sale. If you are interested in this property, please contact @chris.decelis or @stevecole_theavenue. Real Estate Agents looking to stand out from the crowd, why not gift a DIY Property Styling Consultation to your vendors, priced from $199 (2hrs). For more information, comment below, send me a DM, or call 0407 769 354. See more
20.01.2022 Property Styling v Home Styling I’ve already delved into Property Styling (refresh your memory by referring back a couple of posts), today as promised, I will delve into Home Styling. Property Styling is about helping my clients prepare their property for sale, so that it’s appealing to prospective buyers, and Home Styling is about helping my clients, who are staying put, to enhance their home for living & loving. ... But how do I help them achieve each, and what are the key differences, or elements I guide my clients to focus on? Today let’s chat Home Styling. Preparing your Home for Living & Loving, and doing it well, is key to ensure you and your loved ones feel relaxed, comfortable, and happy at home. You may even feel a sense of pride when you stand back and look at how your home has been transformed into your very own haven. During my DIY Home Styling Consultations, I guide my clients on the following STYLE: I help my clients understand what their favourite style might be, after all, it’s their home, not mine. Sometimes they have a very clear idea, and sometimes they don’t, so I either work with their clear idea and existing furniture & décor items, or make some suggestions on what style may suite their home with the architecture of their home, and their existing furniture & décor in mind. DECLUTTERING: Helping my clients not fear some white space or breathing space as I refer to it, is a common challenge. Be it the walls, the floors or everything in between. The biggest impact you could make in your home is by practicing restraint. I suggest spaces that could do with a little paring back to ensure the home flows beautifully, thoroughfares are clear, and no one space looks too cramped. FUNCTIONALITY: I like to get to know how my clients use each space in their home. Understanding where the high traffic areas are, and perhaps what is currently working well and what is not working so well, helps me make recommendations on how to make their home more functional. 20.01.2022 Thank you Together we made it to 1000! Today marks 1 year, 7 months and 30 days since I launched Harmonia At Home on social media. I had planned a celebratory photograph at my Branding shoot scheduled just as Covid-19 started to heat up with my lovely friend Helen from Helen Lamont Photography, but we made the decision to postpone. To all my followers, new and old, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for coming along for the ride. I hope I continue to inform you, guide... you, and enlighten you when it comes to not only Property & Home Styling, but life in general, so that you may happily continue to stay on board. Some cringeworthy posts early on, but there they will remain to remind me of my journey thus far. A very clever lady taught me a little over a year ago about *connection over perfection* (thank you Emily Osmond), so with that in mind, I have refrained from deleting any of my posts. Some of my posts may have not been perfect early on, but whats perfect anyway? They were perfect enough to connect me to you, and that is all that matters Without further ado, I am so excited to tell you a little about an exciting collaboration with the very talented artist melissabanks_maker to help celebrate 1000+ Instagram followers. Melissa creates beautiful artwork; painted coastlines and bush blooms. She refers to herself as a nature, colour and creative process lover. Based in Balnarring, VIC, I have been very fortunate to have crossed paths with Melissa through Instagram, and even more fortunate to have had two very special pieces created especially for me, to help celebrate this milestone. Pictured here is Olive You, and the lovely Melissa is holding Olive You Too. For your chance to win both of these pieces, plus learn how these two beauties came to be, stay tuned for my up and coming competition post. For your chance to WIN, be sure to be following Melissa melissabanks_maker and myself here Harmonia At Home, the rest will soon be revealed. 19.01.2022 Spoil mum this Mothers Day With Mothers Day just over 2-wks away, Id like to start my post by acknowledging that I know it can be a day filled with much sadness for some, perhaps a little more than usual this year whilst in iso. 19.01.2022 DIY Home Styling: Creating a vignette with a stack of books Thanks to the lovely Jen Bishop from Interiors Addict, we now all have a FUN challenge to enjoy whilst we stay home. Small achievable changes in our homes to make us love them a little more; has there ever been a better time? PLUS, therell be a little prize every day too! Head on over to @interiorsaddict, show her some love (if you are not already one of her 92.8k followers ), and tap into the post HEART YOUR H...OME. Todays challenge is about creating a vignette with a stack of books. Do you know what a VIGNETTE is when it comes to styling? A VIGNETTE is a grouping or arrangement of items, usually on a shelf or table, showcasing your favourite pieces and adding style to a space. They say a picture is worth a 1000-words, well my little vignette I created today says so much about me. Starting from the bottom up I LVE THE BEACH, in fact, a dip in the ocean is one of the things I am most looking forward to when we are out of isolation, plus, hopefully booking a family beach getaway that we decided against last month. I LVE HAPPINESS, and always strive to live my life in a way that keeps my family and I happy. I LVE MY HOME, and no better time like the present, am I grateful to have my little family all home, in good health and in good spirits, with a roof over our head. The cosy comfy relaxed vibes are serving us all very well too! I LVE INDOOR PLANTS, huge plant nerd actually. I am and always suggesting indoor plants to my clients as an easy way to bring the outside in, to brighten up and bring any space to life. If I could only style with 1 thing, it would be indoor plants hands down. I LVE THE GREAT OUTDOORS, and all mother nature has to offer. This pinecone my mumma collected for me along with another handful from her local park (she knows me too well). Your turn now. Create a vignette by grabbing a stack of your favourite books, a couple of trinkets, sentimental pieces or decorative pieces, in a space you will look at daily. Id love to see your vignette, or if you need a hand, get in touch. What are your favourite things to style with at home? See more
19.01.2022 Challenge accepted! Thank you Alexandra @theroamingatelier, Brooke @brookegoodlet and Roweena @strikergirl31 for nominating me. Thank you Amanda @_amandaayres for educating me in your stories on where this challenge originated from. ... Thank you to all the women and men, who have and continue to empower me, who have and continue to support me, who have and continue to be kind to me. Together we are stronger. Together we are better. Prompted by Amanda's stories, my heart broke when I further researched where this global challenge originated from. On the surface it is a beautiful way, in what at times has been a dark year, to stop and acknowledge the women in our lives. Dig deeper, and this social media movement is much more than that. It originated in Turkey, and was started in the hope it would raise awareness of the nation's women who are dying at frightening rates from domestic abuse. Together, let's say NO to domestic violence toward anyone, anywhere, anytime. Thank you to @elkejeandidit and @helenlamontphotography for last week's hair / make-up session and photoshoot. They have helped me embrace my recent diagnosis of Vitiligo, an autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the pigment cells in the skin hence the discoloured patches you can see around my collarbone and neck. I know it sounds totally shallow when I say initially this diagnosis rocked me. The tricky thing with it is that doctors cannot determine whether it will stay as is, get better, or get worse, but either way, it is not sinister, it is not fatal, so the voice in my head said "think bigger picture Ang, get a grip", and here I am today embracing my imperfections, totally grateful for my health and to all the wonderful women and men in my life Photography by @helenlamontphotography Hair & Makeup by @elkejeandidit from @glowbeautyspace #challengeaccepted See more
19.01.2022 It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Balancing a tower of home interiors & dried flowers, this image perfectly depicts me juggling my two passions. But like so many, BTS, the juggling act goes beyond Harmonia At Home & Harmonia At Home Dried Flowers. There’s the family and home juggles, which I’m grateful that my work offers me the flexibility to prioritise as required on any given day. With Christmas looming, this time of the year also brings with it a host of extra ...juggles. Getting organised with gifts, scheduling catch-ups with loved ones, a myriad of EOY events be it school, work or other, and not to be forgotten, visiting Santa. To add to our tower this year, we have a little lady who is finishing up at day-care, and starting big school in the NY, so a graduation ceremony, orientation day, school uniform shopping day and play dates to get acquainted with friends are all scheduled in. Our fur baby always has his annual vaccinations this time of the year, and we have scheduled a much-needed family getaway in lieu of not being able to earlier in the year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Oh, and in my little family, just for an extra sprinkle of fun, hubby and Evelyn are both December babies, so a family celebration post-Christmas for the little lady (once everyone has recovered from food coma) is on the cards. Being organised is one of my strengths; the truth is, I don’t do hectic well, so to avoid hectic, I insist on streamlining, planning and scheduling, to keep me organised, and maintain the calm. 18.01.2022 Giving back this Mothers Day Happy Mothers Day and thank you so much to everyone who placed a dried floral order. My little side hustle has kept the creative side of my brain active whilst my day job as an Interior Stylist has slowed right down since Covid-19. With numerous order pick-ups during the week and yesterdays deliveries made in-person, Im so grateful to have had the opportunity to create, and to help spread a lot of love to some beautiful mums. ... Ive decided to show my gratitude by giving back. Ive nominated a charity to support thats near and dear to my heart, Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support. Ill be showing my support by making a donation, but here today also taking the opportunity on Mothers Day to raise some awareness. Please know Im not here to dampen your spirits on this special day, Im here to raise awareness and perhaps even help you make a difference to even one mums day today. Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support provide leading support and exceptional care to bereaved families who experience the loss of their baby. Today on Mothers Day, lets spare a thought for the 1 in 4 mums whose children are missing from their arms. This statistic as devastating as it is, is sadly true. Like many charities this year, Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support more than ever need our support. I have decided to donate $1 from every dried floral order placed from 1 April - 5 May, so if you placed an order, thank you for making this possible. Please remember to reach out to all mums today, to mums with children earth side and to mums with angel babies in heaven. Just because their babies are not here to embrace, does not mean they are not a mum, and just because they have other children, does not mean they are ok or do not grieve their loss. To ALL the beautiful mums, Happy Mothers Day. These virtual Pink Ice Proteas are especially from me to you; by far the most popular of my florals, pictured here fresh and also in their dried form. If you are an angel babies mum, may your day be extra gentle and kind Tag in a special mum and wish her a Happy Mothers Day. 1 in 4 statistic diagram ~ Bears Of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support @ The Ponds See more
18.01.2022 COVID-19 has rocked our world, but people still need to sell and buy property Not one industry has been unaffected by Coronavirus, but how has the current environment really affected the real estate industry? With real estate auctions and open house inspections now prohibited activities, we are really trying as best we can to connect buyers who need to immediately buy with our clients who need to sell as there is a pool of people who still have to push forward with the...ir property goals, says Chris De Celis, Licensee-In-Charge, at The Avenue Real Estate. As the real estate industry quickly adapts, stylists have also adapted to support them and their clients when it comes to preparing their properties for sale. Regardless of our current environment, filled with so much uncertainly and social distancing, as stylists, we are in a fortunate position to be able to easily adapt our offering and help clients style to sell or style to live, through remote, e-styling solutions. Im an avid believer that each challenge brings with it a silver lining. Read my article How agents & stylists are adapting since Covid-19 in full at theinteriorsaddict.com. 18.01.2022 Property Styling v Home Styling Ive already delved into Property Styling (refresh your memory by referring back a couple of posts), today as promised, I will delve into Home Styling. Property Styling is about helping my clients prepare their property for sale, so that its appealing to prospective buyers, and Home Styling is about helping my clients, who are staying put, to enhance their home for living & loving. ... But how do I help them achieve each, and what are the key differences, or elements I guide my clients to focus on? Today lets chat Home Styling. Preparing your Home for Living & Loving, and doing it well, is key to ensure you and your loved ones feel relaxed, comfortable, and happy at home. You may even feel a sense of pride when you stand back and look at how your home has been transformed into your very own haven. During my DIY Home Styling Consultations, I guide my clients on the following STYLE: I help my clients understand what their favourite style might be, after all, its their home, not mine. Sometimes they have a very clear idea, and sometimes they dont, so I either work with their clear idea and existing furniture & décor items, or make some suggestions on what style may suite their home with the architecture of their home, and their existing furniture & décor in mind. 16.01.2022 Property E-Styling Solutions, whilst preparing to sell, during these uncertain times Today I updated some of my Real Estate Agents, outlining how I can still be of assistance to their clients who are preparing to sell. If their clients are still happy to welcome me into their property, I have assured them I will uphold the highest of hygiene practices, refrain from shaking hands, and instead of touching their belongings showing them how to style, I will guide them careful...ly with my words. If theyre not comfortable welcoming me into their property, that is perfectly ok. Im happy to schedule a facetime call, to run through the very same DIY Property Styling process, encompassing my 8-step approach, just remotely. Together, well still walk through every space, every room, inside + out, where Ill guide them with as many suggestions as I can to ensure they are well equipped on how to best prepare their property for sale, using essentially what they have on hand, to ensure they maximise their earnings. Should we experience a full lockdown nationally, this remote offering is gold for those clients urgently needing to prepare their property for sale, no matter where they are located. The silver lining here is that I can assist clients nationwide, & better still, together we can even reduce our carbon footprint by working remotely. The perfect partner to my already sustainable approach to styling, where I guide my clients how to style to sell or live, using essentially what they have. Everyones circumstances are different, & in real estate, there are instances where clients have to keep pushing ahead to sell, to buy, or to rent; they simply cannot just put everything on hold. I hope to offer some relief, during an already difficult environment, where we are all just doing our very best to navigate. Here are some of my fave client spaces prepared entirely by my clients, following a DIY Property Styling Consultation with me. I couldnt be prouder of them, or more grateful for the opportunity to assist them during such an important part of their lives. 16.01.2022 DIY Home Styling: Mixing things up a little with your art is todays HEART YOUR HOME challenge, by the lovely Jen Bishop from Interiors Addict. You dont need a big budget to make a statement in your home. If your budget doesnt stretch enough to purchase an original, purchasing a print from an original is also a great option. Perhaps you have picked up a piece during your travels from a little village that brings you much joy, or, like me here today, I dusted off this ...piece my son James painted in about Yr-4. No matter your choice, if you follow some general rules when it comes to your selection, they can all be equally as effective when styling your home. Matching some of the colours in a piece of art with some of the colours in the space in your home is certainly one way of doing it, but the opposite also works. Consider running with a black + white piece. A common mistake is making a selection that is too small. Unless you are opting for a gallery wall where you select a handful of smaller pieces, when it comes to artwork, size and scale is so important. Bigger is generally better. A traditional home with a modern piece of art or a contemporary home with a traditional piece of art can really make a statement. Dont be afraid to mix OLD & NEW. If you opt for a gallery wall, mixing up modern and traditional pieces can also look fab! Be it a bargain or a piece you have invested in, an original or a print, it doesnt matter, as long as you love it and nail the colour and size / scale, it will work. At home, Ive opted to decorate my walls with mirrors, macramé, framed photos, metal wall art and patiently waiting to meet my walls, are some lovely bamboo rice sieves. If you need some help making the perfect selection for your walls, I'm happy to help. James Wattle & Bottlebrush painting is thanks to a very patient primary school teacher that guided them step by step. 15.01.2022 Hello, how are you, are you ok? As we roll into our work week post Easter long weekend, many of us might be missing family & friends now more than ever since Covid-19 isolation began. 15.01.2022 Property Styling v Home Styling: This may seem obvious on the surface, but what really is the difference? Property Styling, is about helping my clients prepare their property for sale, so that it's appealing to prospective buyers. Home Styling, is about helping my clients, who are staying put, to enhance their home for living & loving. How do I help them achieve each, and what are the key differences, or elements I guide my clients to focus on? ... Today lets chat Property Styling, in my next post, I will chat Home Styling. Preparing youre your Property for Sale, and doing it well, is key to ensure you achieve a premium price. During my DIY Property Styling Consultations, I guide my clients on the following CLEANLINESS: A thorough, end of lease type clean should take place throughout the property inside and out. Clients are sometimes confident they can achieve this themselves, but if time poor, I suggest they call in the professionals for assistance. REPAIRS: Any obvious items requiring repair, should be repaired. Think leaky taps, blown light bulbs, broken door and cabinetry handles, squeaky hinges, and so on. Keep any nuisances to a minimum by at least repairing the obvious. DECLUTTERING: The power of decluttering CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT be underestimated. Less is often more, but taking it too far and packing too much away can leave a property looking cold and stark. Definitely leave out some books and decorative items to help with the finishing touches. The main problem areas I see time and time again, is too much furniture in any given room, oversized lounges, and way too many walls busy with wall art. Dont be scared to leave white space, or as I call it, breathing space. DEPERSONALISING: We want to ensure there are zero distractions. Distractions are any personal photos, perhaps certificates and awards, or trinkets that might be super meaningful to my clients but a little odd to potential buyers. Keeping in mind, we want potential buyers to walk through the property envisaging it as their own, we do not want them walking through distracted by what your family looks like, what degree you graduated with, etc. Cont. in comments See more

So, I write this post with a special thought in my ...heart for those of you with a dad in heaven, and for those dads without your angel babies to hold, or with the hope of welcoming a baby earth side soon. 12.01.2022 A special note to all real estate agents As NSW lifts the ban on open homes and on-site auctions, I cant commend you enough for adapting to the Covid-19 restrictions as well and as quickly as you did. It has been business as NOT so usual, but with your processes in place, buyers could still buy and sellers could still sell; a great thing for your clients over the last couple of months thanks to your ability to adapt with the situation on hand. The lift on this ban i...s set to give the real estate market a boost, and I couldnt be happier for you, plus my fellow stylists who are eagerly waiting to get back into meeting your clients face to face and helping them prepare their properties for sale. I personally cant wait, with my first face to face client consultation since Covid-19 on Monday. Pretty proud of the bonds I have formed with some of you over the last few years, and if we have yet to have spoken or met, feel free to drop me a line anytime; Id love the opportunity to chat or meet. Ahead of this weekend, I wanted to wish each and every one of you (whether we have spoken, met or neither), all the very best with the first lot of traditional open homes back since the restrictions were enforced. I hope you all kick some major goals and may the rest of 2020 be fruitful to each and every one of you. Please note, if you have clients that dont want to, dont need to or cant afford to, hire furniture and décor, I can assist them with my DIY Property Styling Consultations from as little as $199. If they are not yet ready to welcome me into their properties, that is ok, I can still assist them with my remote FaceTime or report (where client provides me with images) solutions guiding them on how to best prepare their properties for photography and open homes. These remote services have always been part of my offering, and will continue to be post Covid-19. If your clients are interested and require partial or full furniture and décor hire, I can certainly help them there by tapping into my industry contacts. 11.01.2022 Collectively we CAN & WILL make a difference! Happy NY & may 2020 be your best yr ever. Like many, this was my 1st week back at work, & like many, I spent much of Xmas & the NY feeling beyond devastated at the current situation in our beautiful Australia. The relentless drought, & the terrifying fires that continue to affect so many. The loss, the destruction, the heartache. At times, its beyond comprehension, I am not sure that any of us have ever seen anything like this... before. Suddenly, we are the centre of attention worldwide, & many hearts are breaking for us. I have been inspired by so many these last few weeks, way too many to mention, but some in particular that have motivated me to get off my butt & make a difference: Emily Osmond, has encouraged us to use our businesses as vehicles for good Lisa Messenger, has & continues to provide one of the most comprehensive feeds as far as what help is needed & where Celeste Barber, who as of earlier today, has raised nearly $48m, through her Fb Bushfire Fundraiser Samantha Gash + Nic Davidson who have raised as of earlier today, $310k, through their Relief Run My key takeaways from all of this: Will I worry whether anyone thinks this is a Marketing ploy & hence do nothing NO way Will I worry that my contribution is not enough hell NO Will I do my very best to make a difference & know that that is enough absolutely YES So what actions am I taking? I locked hubby & I in to volunteer Foodbank NSW & ACT I donated 5% from my Everlasting Florals sold at the Cronulla Xmas Markets to Australian Redcross I will make more bouquets & donate $5 from each one sold (stay tuned) I will donate $5 from every Jan & Feb Property or Home Styling Consultation To all the charities, volunteers, those who have made monetary donations, shared stories of joy & hope, or stepped up as true leaders, thank you x To those affected by the current drought & bushfires, my thoughts are with you x To our heroes, the bravest of brave, risking their lives, thank you, & stay safe x To my darling Evelyn, who through this drawing, you showed me a sign of everlasting hope, & motivated me to take action x See more
11.01.2022 Today is not like it used to be As a young girl, teenager, and even much of my adult life, today was quite simply about feeling proud of my Greek / Australian heritage, feeling grateful mum and dad chose to call Australia home (over 55yrs ago), and feeling beyond blessed to have been born and raised in Australia; never has there been a time, that I have felt more grateful, to call Australia home, than in the last 12 mths. When I went to school, we weren’t taught the whole ...truth about our beginnings here in Australia; to put things into perspective, I was born in the 70’s. I have fond memories of learning about Aboriginal Dreamtime stories, and recall how fascinated I was by these learnings, but beyond that, either my memory fails me, or the detail we should have been taught was left out. I’m pretty sure it was the later, and I so wish that was not the case. I’m grateful my son was taught the truth at school, and that my daughter will also be taught the truth. As much as the truth is not a pretty story, it needs to be told, it needs to be understood, and it needs to be respected. I admit, even at my age, I am still learning. So as much as today is for me still about feeling proud, grateful and blessed, it is also about starting conversations like the one we had just this morning with my son over breakfast about what today means to us, about what I was not taught, about what he was taught, about what his sister will be taught, about how we feel, and about how others feel. It’s hard not to feel as though the unrest and divide between the community on this day is strengthening and escalating as the years tick by, and although that can feel uncomfortable at times, my hope for the future is that we are united and not divided, that we work out how we can still be allowed to feel proud, grateful and blessed, but how we can also honour our true beginnings, be it on this day, on another day, or on two separate days. Although today is not like it used to be, I don’t want it to be JUST like it used to be, I need it to be MORE. It is my responsibility to my children for it to be more, to be part of the uncomfortable before we one day reach the comfortable.
11.01.2022 ENTER TO WIN! Thank you for all the LVE you gave my last post announcing my 1000+ Instagram Followers milestone. Now it's time to give back, and Im thrilled to announce the details of this competition that Ive been working on collaboratively with the talented artist Melissa from @melissabanks_maker. Melissa creates beautiful artwork; painted coastlines and bush blooms. She refers to herself as a nature, colour and creative process lover. Pictured here is Melissa h...olding -Olive You Too-. If you swipe you will see -Olive You Too- up close, followed by Melissa holding -Olive You-, then -Olive You- also up close, and finally, Melissa holding both of these one-off creations. Im humbled by Melissas generosity in creating these two pretties in celebration of 1000+ Instagram Followers. It has been a beautiful journey behind the scenes to get us to where we are today, and Im so grateful for that connection. I was drawn to Melissa not only because of her art, but her as a person. In the last few weeks, Ive realised we have a lot in common. You could say we are both dreamers, glass half full kind of people, and appreciative and grateful for the simple things in life. -Olive You- & -Olive You Too-, both feature Olive branches painted in shades of olive green, both elements you will see featured in my Harmonia At Home logo. The olive branch is a symbol of peace or victory allegedly deriving from the customs of ancient Greece, and olive green represents the traditional colour of peace. These were intentional elements briefed to my Graphic Designer when designing my logo. My logo (pictured) is symbolic of a HOME (represented by the square in my logo) filled with HARMONIA (Greek for Harmony) bringing PEACE (represented by the olive coloured olive branch) to our lives. It reminds me of my Greek culture, and the harmonious spaces I strive to create or guide my clients to create on their own. For your chance to WIN both -Olive You- & -Olive You Too-, simply: 1. 09.01.2022 Dreams do come true... Here are my Dried Flowers, in the home of the ever so talented @natbacicinteriors. Nat ordered two custom flower arrangements from my other business @harmoniaathomedriedflowers to feature in a current Interior Design project she is working on come photoshoot day. She is currently babysitting them in her home ahead of the big day. ... Funny story; the moment I stepped foot in Nat's home, having carefully navigated over 36km on the road, around roundabouts, up and down hills, speed humps, you name it, breathing a sigh of relief when I arrived with these two pretties safe, no sooner had I popped them on the floor, her cat Romeo tried to dig into the first arrangement he laid his eyes on . If only my face was captured that millisecond, I have never moved so fast in my life to whip it up off the ground and onto safer higher ground ...explains why I am more Cat than Dog lady This right here, if I ever had any doubt launching @harmoniaathomedriedflowers, is the perfect example of how I envisaged @harmoniaathome and Harmonia At Home Dried Flowers living side by side in perfect harmony. With @harmoniaathome, I have over the last few years enjoyed and continue to enjoy, guiding my clients on how to best prepare their Property for Sale or Home for Living & Loving, by Styling it essentially with what they have on hand, addressing decluttering, layout, functionality & storage solutions, plus, new purchases to consider. My approach is a sustainable one; it is never the case of out with everything old, and in with everything new, and these pretties, dried everlasting flowers are a beautiful little something new, to help you decorate your Property or Home in a sustainable way, given you will not have to replace it after a week of two. Thank you Nat for the warm welcome and I trust you are keeping these pretties locked up away from Romeo Please head over to @natbacicinteriors and show her some love, and if you have yet to see what I have been up to over at @harmoniaathomedriedflowers head on over and let me know what you think below in comments First by @natbacicinteriors
07.01.2022 INTRODUCING @harmoniaathomedriedflowers // Dried Flowers for GIFTING + STYLING your Property, Home, Flat Lay or Cake. Made with @harmoniaathome. It was inevitable, that my love for Dried Flowers, would one day earn them their very own page on Instagram & Facebook, and finally, after much deliberation, I did it! Thank you to those of you that have encouraged me to take this step; the perfect complement to @harmoniaathome.... Thank you to those non dried flower lovers for enduring all my dried flower spam here @harmoniaathome. Now with their very own page, I promise to keep my love for dried flowers to a minimum over here Over 3 years ago, I had this stone etched with my logo, to signify my commitment to my business. Now, I will continue to help my clients here @harmoniaathome Style their Property for Sale or their Home for Living & Loving, as I absolutely love working with Real Estate Agents plus Property & Home owners, but in addition, I am so excited to share more of my dried flowers over @harmoniaathomedriedflowers with you. Thank you so much to those of you who have already jumped over @harmoniaathomedriedflowers to show me your love. Please help me spread the word, by tagging a friend or two into comments below, and if dried flowers are your thing, head on over to @harmoniaathomedriedflowers and watch this space bloom* *Word credit: I cant take credit for the clever inclusion of the word bloom, this is thanks to my friend Alexandra @theroamingatelier, one of my biggest cheerleaders in business. @helenlamontphotography See more
05.01.2022 WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER - my public VOW to the small business world! Our current environment is changing day by day due to COVID-19, and this last week I have been overwhelmed by the love and support from other small businesses. Never has there been a time, quite like the present, where I have felt such an overwhelming sense of community amongst businesses in both the Instagram & Facebook community. It warms my heart, and chokes me up, as I know, WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOG...ETHER, keeping our heads high, choosing to pull out all the stops, to ensure our small businesses not only SURVIVE, but THRIVE! This love and support, inspired me to write this post and to publicly make a vow. I, Angela Reynolds, from Harmonia At Home, vow to, each and every day, try my very best, until we can breathe easy again, show my support, for at least one other small business, in my stories. WHO WANTS IN? I have already started typing up a long list of small businesses I will be featuring in my stories over the up and coming days, weeks, and months, but here, right now, I am inviting you, as a small business, to put your hand up and ask for some L--V-E. Simply add in comments: Your business name Your industry What you do Where you are located (Suburb and State), and, Are you currently open for business or not For my non business followers, here is your chance to shout out your favourite small businesses by tagging them in comments, and in return, I will also VOW to show them some L--V-E. Currently open or not, it doesnt matter, the aim of this post is to spread the L--V-E, and if we can each try to show even just one of these small businesses some L--V-E by making a purchase, online or in person, well, together we have made a difference. It might not be right now, but when it works for you. Remember, many small businesses still offer a remote service, many businesses still sell products online, and many businesses are still open to the public for essential services and takeaway products. TOGETHER we will not only SURVIVE, we will THRIVE! Spread this post far and wide, lets get some L--V-I-N-G vibes happening x See more
05.01.2022 THANK YOU, small businesses, for your support My heart is filled with gratitude, for so many that show their support in one way or another, either here on Facebook, or over on Instagram. Today I want to shine the light on all the small businesses I have and continue to cross paths with, in my social feeds, for their continued support. Last week, I posted on my personal Facebook page, asking family + friends, if they had a spare couple of minutes to please consider showing th...eir support by liking my social pages Harmonia At Home & Harmonia At Home Dried Flowers, inviting their followers to like, or tagging them into a post or two. Supporting small to me is not just an exchange of money for my services, more than anything, it’s about engaging, encouraging, congratulating, starting a dialogue, and so much more. My greatest surprise since launching my businesses here, has been realising that the support does not necessarily flow in from the place’s I thought it would. My greatest delight, has been realising that the support DOES flow in from the place’s I least expected it to, and that is from other small businesses. I now understand why, there is a mutual respect for the daily grind that is required in the background, the sheer amount of passion one must have for their product or service to keep on tapping away, and the number of balls one must juggle to run their own business. Short of getting too emotional, in a good way, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU; THANK YOU to all the small business out there for showing me your support. You know who you are; if you have engaged with me by taking the time to comment, if you have sent me words of encouragement in a private DM, if you have shared my posts to your stories or tagged me into one of your posts, THIS IS YOU, TODAY I THANK YOU! Thank you, Joe, from Moment To Motion for offering to bring one of my photos to life. How cool is this #cinemagraph created especially for me? Be sure to switch on the sound, and head on over to @moment_to_motion on Instagram and show Joe some . Support small today! Tag a small business below, and thank them for the support they have shown you. Helen Lamont Photography

Personally, I have a lot to be grateful for when it comes to Corie. 3 year ago, when Harmonia At Home was just a thought, I reached out to Corie, total utter stranger, and asked him something along the lines of this Hi Corie, I really admire your work in the Real Estate arena, I was looking for a mentor, someone I could bounce some business ideas off, a successful local real estate agent like yourself, would you be happy to meet?. Without hesitation Corie said YES. About a year after that meeting, when I was ready to go, Corie gave me my first big break, trusting me with one of his clients. The rest is history, a few more clients followed, the market then crashed a little, and now back on the rise I am happily meeting more and more of his clients. 03.01.2022 Thank you from the bottom of my This post is so belated, exactly 87 new followers since I hit 900 followers belated. Earlier this year, with our eyes on the devastating bushfires tearing through our beautiful Australia, and now, on COVAD-19 tearing through our world, it just felt a little self-indulgent to celebrate, but it dawned on me, its not about ME, its about YOU. This is about thanking YOU, new and old followers, THANK YOU for coming along for the ride or st...aying on board since day dot. THANK YOU so much from the bottom of my heart. Now, more than ever, as a small business, your support means not just the WORLD to me, it means the UNIVERSE to me. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER and short of getting down on one knee and pleading with you, where you can, be it now where possible or when this storm passes and you are able to, please try if you can, be it in a small way or a big gigantic huge way show small business your L--V-E + support. For us to not only SURVIVE, but THRIVE, we need your support. Consider remote service offerings, buy and send a gift to a loved one online, tag friends into your favourite posts, ear mark your favourite posts and come back to them when you are in a position you can make an enquiry, booking or purchase. I am going to get real here, and say, unashamedly, I have had ZERO new enquiries in almost 3 weeks, BUT I am not alone, this is the case for 1000s and 1000s of business across our nation. I know so many of them myself within my community, within my circles, and my heart breaks for each and every one of them as I know first-hand how much blood, sweat and tears goes into building a business to then see it come to an abrupt halt. It is bloody scary. Saying all that, right here, right now, my focus, and that of my families is our HEALTH. We will be beyond GRATEFUL if we quite simply get through this in good HEALTH. That is all I ask for, nothing more, nothing less. May this find you and your loved ones in GOOD HEALTH + in GOOD SPIRITS; and to my small business followers, stay strong, keep engaging, and lets not only SURVIVE this, lets THRIVE! Show a favourite small business some by tagging them.
02.01.2022 By late November, I didn’t think my heart could take much more, day-care graduation, big school orientation day, new school uniform, lonesome photo 1.5m away from Santa, preparing to say good-bye to the best educators at Kindalin Kellyille Ridge and the realisation that Evelyn is my last, my heart was pretty much ready to explode with pride + sadness. The full schedule of getting my business and family holiday ready, and making sure we were Christmas and Birthday (hubby & Eve...lyn are both Dec babies) ready ahead of our family holiday earlier this month, I was ok with, it was the emotional heart strings being tugged that I found overwhelming, and to top it off, I misplaced my Engagement ring, by which point, I was a total anxious ball of hot mess. Our family holiday to our favourite seaside village, Lennox Head, couldn’t have come at a better time. It was long overdue; like many, 2020 has presented us with challenges and I know we are not alone when I say we had to wait it out a little longer before we had the opportunity to get away. With original plans to getaway in March earlier this year postponed for obvious reasons, and our last break way back in March 2019, we were more than ready to escape. Not ashamed to say, that during my first walk alone on the beach, the tears just started to flow. I didn’t know what was going on, clearly more than I thought, total overwhelm, catching up with me, and the opportunity to finally unwind. Beyond grateful for the quality time spent with my family. Things are looking a little pear shaped here in Greater Sydney. To those of you who have had to cancel a getaway, I feel you. Please try to do something, anything, a little closer to home perhaps, or a fabulous staycation with no chores, takeout, fun adventures and oodles of down time with your loved ones. Be kind to yourself, you deserve it, and stop piling on all those unrealistic expectations of yourself, you are only human after all. Thanks @aperfectstay & @eleutheralennoxhead, we loved staying at your properties ‘Sandy Feet’ & ‘Sugar Apple’ respectively. PS: Hubby found my ring whilst unblocking the bathroom sink, best Christmas present ever!

01.01.2022 TIP: Remove all personal photographs when Preparing to Sell When meeting clients to guide them in how to best prepare their Property for Sale, one of my top tips is to remove all personal photographs. The thought of strangers looking at their personal photos is just a little too weird for my liking, but we also want potential buyers to visualize themselves living in my clients home and not be distracted by seeing personal photos. ... It really can make the world of difference, and this tip along with many others are suggested during my 2hr DIY Property Styling Consultations to help my clients close a sale as quickly as possible. Its not all about fluffing cushions and learning how to make a bed, they are jam packed with handy tips that leave a good impression on potential buyers. Take this opportunity to carefully pack away your personal photographs. Label the boxes clearly, and store away safely ready for your big move. Minor repairs may be required, like removing hooks, and patching + painting walls. Call in a handy person if unable to make these repairs yourself, alternatively, framed artwork that you have yet to display, might just save the day. Borrowing framed artwork from loved ones could also be an option. When settled in your new home, consider these options when decorating with personal photos Print photos in black + white, for a more subtle look in an already busy space. A mish mash of photos, in black + white and colour, and in varied themes, can easily be made more compatible by buying matching frames, be it in varied sizes. Have fun with a photo wall and dont be afraid, it does not have to be all formal and structured. Get the ball rolling with a couple in the middle of your nominated wall and start sprawling in all directions as new photos youd like to display are taken. If you already have a collection of photos, lay them out on the floor and once settled on a preferred layout, take a photo, and start installing following this layout. Out of wall space, no worries, consider your stairway. I love this fabulous example pictured here at a friends home. Give me a 'YES', if you'd like to see more of my TIPS. @ Woolwich, New South Wales, Australia See more
01.01.2022 A message of HOPE from my HEART Where many have spoken so eloquently this week, I havent been able to quite find the words. So instead, I draw inspiration from these rocks painted by locals during Covid-19 isolation and share here what my heart tells me... A message of HOPE, that we learn to LOVE ONE ANOTHER, that we find the STRENGTH & COURAGE, to STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD, and perhaps INSPIRE others, and with KINDNESS & CARE, that we help restore some CALM to our world. TOGETHER, by LEARNING, with UNDERSTANDING and COMPASSION, WE ARE STRONGER, WE ARE BETTER. @ The Ponds Parklands See more
