22.01.2022 Announcing: The HarmonySite Referral Program We are pleased to announce the launch of our new HarmonySite Referral Program a program where you can earn real money for yourself or your group, simply by referring other groups to HarmonySite. The typical referral fee is $250. Heres how it works We will give either you or your group (you nominate which) a one-time cash payment of the full value of the annual package cost paid by the group you referred to us (typically $250). ...There is no limit to the number of groups you can refer to us, and each one will earn you a similar one-time cash payment. For example, you are a member of the Washington Chapter of your society, and you think HarmonySite is a fine product. You recommend it to your friend, Fred Smith, from the Oregon Chapter. His chapter signs up with us for a free trial, and mentions your name when he signs up. After trialling HarmonySite for a few weeks, Fred decides that HarmonySite is great and signs up for the full (paid) package. We send his Oregon Chapter an invoice for $250. As soon as the invoice is paid, we forward that money either to YOU or to your chapter (Washington) whomever you prefer. This $250 payment to you happens only once per referral, meaning that NEXT years payment from Oregon is NOT forwarded to you. And when the same thing happens with your friend in the Nevada Chapter, we give you another one-time payment. If you cant think of anyone to recommend HarmonySite to, consider this: HarmonySite is not just for singing groups. 19.01.2022 There is a major issue on our server's network. It seems that an entire set of datacentres is offline at the moment - hundreds or perhaps thousands of servers, including ours - likely hundreds of thousands of websites. It's probably something simple, with an issue this serious, it's likely that it will be resolved soon. 19.01.2022 Credit card payment gateway news Here is some interesting news about HarmonySite and credit card payments Price drop for credit card payment gateway (for Australian HarmonySite users only) We have just learned that one of our credit card payment gateway providers, Stripe, has lowered their pricing for Australian credit card transactions, from 2.9% + 80 cents per transaction to 1.75% + 80 cents per transaction (Australian credit cards only, excluding American E...xpress). This is extremely cheap for a payment gateway, and it means that there is now even more reason to integrate a payment gateway into your HarmonySite. Whats a Payment Gateway? With a payment gateway, you are able to receive payments via credit card, securely on your website, for the following: Membership invoices Merchandise, via s shopping cart Event tickets (coming soon) Donations (coming soon) If you have yet to set up these options in your HarmonySite, we have some guides to get you started Set up member invoicing: harmonysite.com/guides/invoicing.htm Set up merchandise/shopping cart: harmonysite.com/guides/merchandise.htm and a guide to help you select the best payment gateway harmonysite.com/guides/gateways.html Take payments on your phone! Did you know that if you have an account with the payment gateway Stripe, you can also download smartphone apps that allow you to take credit card payments anywhere that you happen to be? So, for example, if youre on site at a concert your group is putting on, you can take payments for tickets at the door via credit card, and all you need is a phone (with an Internet connection, of course your normal mobile phone Internet connection will be fine). 04.01.2022 Now you can sell tickets to your events via your own website We are pleased to announce the release of the new Event Ticketing Module for HarmonySite. This means that if your group uses HarmonySite, you can now sell tickets to your events via your website. It is a simple yet powerful system, including support for the following Payment by various methods, including secure credit card, PayPal, Internet bank transfer and cheque... Printable tickets Multiple pricing levels (e.g. full price, concession, senior, complimentary, etc) Multiple ticket types (e.g. regular admission, premium seating, gold class, dress circle, etc) Reports that include tickets sold offline (via some other mechanism besides your website) Heres an example of what a printed ticket looks like It was deemed WAY too complex to try to support allocated (numbered) seating, due to the complexity of having multiple venues, each with its own seating plan. Gift vouchers and discount vouchers are also not supported. 02.01.2022 HarmonySite is now fully Mobile-Friendly These days its important to have a mobile-friendly (responsive) website not only to make life easy for your visitors who are viewing your website on their mobile phone, but also because Google now penalises websites that are not mobile-friendly in their search results rankings. With this in mind, we have just released a new theme for HarmonySite, called Stockholm. For those that are unaware, every HarmonySite comes wit...h a selection of themes. Each theme is a different look a way of presenting the websites content to site visitors and members. Its possible to change the entire look of a HarmonySite website quite easily, and which theme you choose is simply a matter of personal aesthetics. The Stockholm theme is HarmonySites newest theme. Its a clean theme that sits well with modern web fashions, and of course its responsive, or mobile-friendly. Our Stockholm theme comes with two different home page styles, as follows (click on each image to view the entire site) or the slightly more avant garde Try viewing either website on your mobile phone! How do I switch my HarmonySite over to this new theme? You have two main choices for changing themes: You can do it yourself. Its pretty easy, but there may be a couple of challenges, depending on your skill level. It can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how thorough you want to be. We can do it for you. We charge a one-time fee of $50 (plus GST for Australian clients) for this. If you want to do it yourself, weve prepared some detailed instructions for you.
