13.01.2022 FLASHBACK FRIDAY To 1990 and a photo of some very useful ladies indeed! Pictured here are Margaret Brigade (Bold Brigade, dam of eight foals to race for six winners), her daughter Nicamond (Nicotine Prince, $37,000 and dam of seven foals to race for four winners), and her daughter, the then unnamed Genghis Khan filly who would later become Genghis Tiara.... Genghis Tiara is the dam of Startthetest (Village Jasper, $71,000), the granddam of Hall Of Mirrors (Mach Three) who most recently had a 2019 filly by Always B Miki, bred by GS Walker. Genghis Tiara is not the only successful daughter of Nicamond - Ailsa (Muckalee Strike) has been an outstanding producer, having nine foals to the races and ALL winners, including 2007 GR1 Breeders Crown 2YO Fillies Final winner Staccato (Christian Cullen, $393,000 and now the granddam of a 2019 Shadow Play filly bred by member John Eichhorn), Golden Goal (Walton Hanover, $120,000), and producers Refresh Me (Classic Garry, $34,000 and dam of The Brazen Jasper by Village Jasper, $93,000) and Bridge Player (Classic Garry). Bridge Player is of course the dam of half-million winner, San Carlo (Mach Three, $574,000), Cullens Ace (Christian Cullen, $128,000 and dam of Herehecomes by Art Major $128,000) and Jerada Ace (Christian Cullen, $23,000 and dam of Bar Room Banta by A Rocknroll Dance $116,000 and Jeredas Delight by Bettor's Delight, $98,000). A further sister to Genghis Tiara is Nikality (French Chef) who has bred on to square gaited lines with Anjana Rose (Scotch Demand) who was bred in 2019 to trotting sire, Im Stately. Margaret Brigade also produced Motorlivia (Motorcycle, $25,000) who bred four foals to race for three winners, plus the unraced Torado Hanover mare, Take Five, who threw Take Silk (Walton Hanover, $120,000). : Bendigo Advertiser

12.01.2022 FLASHBACK FRIDAY To 1917 and Happy Voyage, a son of Direct Voyage. He was a successful stud horse, and his bloodlines are still about today through his daughter, Pola Negri.... Pola Negri was served Quite Sure to throw Dalgan Park, in turn the dam of Dalgan Hall (Dillon Hall), dam of Pentland Lass (Meadow Vance), dam of Pentlands Image (Tarport Brett) and she the dam of Draw Card (What's Next).
