25.01.2022 Another small leaf Ivy. Harpers Floss. She is a beautiful mauve wirh white eye. Very dark feathering.

25.01.2022 Sorry I need to go over this again. It is a bit like science. lol On a hot day, say 40. They air is hot. You go out side and when you breath in you can feel the hot air go down your throat and you run back into the aircon. Now imagine it around your plants. What it does is it saps the moisture out of your plant which is why it droops even though you watered it yesterday. NO you do not water it again. You can give the leaves a mist and put it in a cool area to recover, like t...he bathroom. But still only water once a week. Find a cooler area then the one you have. Under trees is always cooler. Some place where it is insulated. Get a tarp that is insulated. But make sure it is put up high as you still want that air flow around it. Powerfeed it every watering as it helps with heat stress. You need to cool the area they are in. Dont use plastic as it heats up. Always use natural material like cotton, bamboo, wood as it does not heat up. Now if you keep watering it a lot because of the drooping and think it need more water you are going to rot the roots. The rot will take about a month to work its way above the soil. It will start to loose its bottom leaves and you will think it need even more water which just makes it rot quicker. At this stage if you recognize what is happening you can take cuttings of the top branches and save it. If you dont the rot will travel right up to the top of the branches. See more

25.01.2022 Some flowering today.

24.01.2022 This seedling has a strange curled petals. It looks like a hydrangea to me.

23.01.2022 Harpers Disnee. Always has very long stems and a tight ball of small tight pink and white flowers.

23.01.2022 Some blooming today. The one's with just my name on are seedlings and have not been named yet.

22.01.2022 Planted all my seeds yesterday. Glad that is done. All the hard work of hand pollinating every morning comes down to this. The fun part and excitement waking up every morning and racing out to see what has emerged. Hope there is some out standing one's coming. I concentrate on Zonartics, Fancy Leaf, miniatures and Small Leaf Ivys this year.

20.01.2022 Remember the little micro mini I showed you in bud. It has opened. Has feint spots and stripes. Put it next to a normal size flower to show you how small it is.

18.01.2022 Do you see these little growths on the end of your spent flower stems. Did you know you can plant them and they will grow a plant.

18.01.2022 This is Crocodile an Ivy. It has an harmless virus in it which makes its veins lighter. The top leaf is what it is suppose to look like. But I have a sported leaf. They call this look Butterfly mark. There is many fancy leaf zonals with this mark. What makes this unusual is it is an Ivy with veining and a butterfly mark. I don't know if this will go any further or if it will be one leaf. To encourage it to grow more leaves like this I will take off all the normal leaves and leave the sported leaf there. Hopefully it will then make the sported strain stronger. It is so unusual.

17.01.2022 Unusual colour Lara Ajax.

16.01.2022 Anyone in South Australia here. There is a Pelargonium sale on today. I will find the address if you are interested. There is still a lot left. Found it. Weston Youth Centre, Marion Road, Cowandilla. Hurry, it finishes at 4pm.

15.01.2022 Some blooming today.

15.01.2022 My desert roses flowering. I am cleaning up around them and fertilizing them. I have 2 white one's. The whites are dwarf one's and the other 2 I prune to keep short. I have them sitting on old stumps.

15.01.2022 This is a plant of Regina that I got as a cutting a year ago that had sported. Right from first bloom it was different and not Regina. It also had striping in it. But went away in winter. Now it looks like the striping is back. So maybe it is a summer thing. Really looking forward to this opening. Has a Rosebud look with many petals. It is also very slow growing.

14.01.2022 These one's Harpers Psycho and Harpers Kaos are unusual as they don't open up and they hang a bit. One is more pink and one is more Orange. They are sister seedlings. They both have spots and stripes.

14.01.2022 I am talking about Sports today. That is when a plant will grow a branch with a completely different flower or a branch with a completely different leaf etc variegated. I found both in my green house this morning. I am going to cut them of and try and grow them. You can see the first photo a variegated leaf growing and second photo the above flower is Autumn Snow but the bottom flower is completely different but growing on the same plant.

11.01.2022 Love these Australian Geranium books. They have so much info in them. You can't find this information on the internet. Look for them on eBay, book stores, online book stores and second hand shops.

11.01.2022 These are veined leaf Ivy's Jester Pink/White and Jester Red/White.

10.01.2022 I have put a water proof white weave over my green house but only on the roof so that there is still a lot of light on the sides and ends. No more sunburnt leaves or stressed plants, or rain drenched flowers and plants. It is raining now and I can still work inside it. It is so much cooler. Heaven.

09.01.2022 Just makes you feel good just looking at them. Names are on Photo.

09.01.2022 We are foster carers for rescue dogs for a couple of rescues in the local area. Most come from pounds. We foster them until they find their forever homes. We do big dogs as we have our boxer who is big. This is Lady and we got her on the weekend. She is our 4th foster dog and our boxer loves her. She is so friendly and loving. She is under weight but we will fix that. Please consider being foster Parents. #adoptdontshop #bravecompaniondogs #preciouspawsanimalrescue

09.01.2022 Pelargonium odoratissimum. Apple scented.

07.01.2022 Harpers Ferris is so pretty.

07.01.2022 Some flowering on this rainy day. We have had rain 4 days now. Lucky mine are now out of the weather.

06.01.2022 Potted up about 50 seedlings today. More to do tomorrow. Hopefully there will be more new amazing one's in this lot.

05.01.2022 Lara Oracle with its two different colour flowers . Open dark pink and then fades.

05.01.2022 Such tiny little flowers on this Species x. Lara Dreamtime. It is quite impressive for such a little flower.

04.01.2022 It is heating up. Please don't be tempted to water your plants more because they are wilting. Still only water them once a week maybe even every 6th day but no more unless they are in a tiny pot like a 75mm. It is the humidity which is making them wilt not from lack of water. To stop humidity from effecting your plant you have to cool down the area they are in. Like if they are on your veranda then go to life line and get some white or light cotten sheets and tie them between veranda posts. The light will still pass through it. Hessian bags are good on a tin fence or bamboo to stop the heat coming of the tin and reflecting back on your plants. If your veranda has no insulation in the ceiling it will be hot.

01.01.2022 Just a reminder. It is easy to look up my plants to see what they look like by clicking on the Magnifying symbol. See where the Orange Mark is. Then type in the name of plant, hit enter. Photos of that plant will come up. Make sure it is the plant and not a seedling of it. It is easier this way then going through all my photos. Will need a computer for this. You can do it on your phone. But the Magnifying symbol is in a different area. I think it is at the top of the page.
