25.01.2022 Hmm, there is a gig in Toulouse tomorrow: Night Wish, Amorphous and Arch Enemy. We're in Carcassonne at the moment, just outside the walls of this ancient fortified French city. Think Hogwarts meets King's Landing. I don't want to leave.

25.01.2022 On the day we were due to fly out to the UK I recorded 3 takes of a bass line and 3 performances of djembes. The bass lines came out solid with good performances; whereas the djembes were inconsistent. I've figured out how to get the most from the djembe recordings by capturing samples for each section of the song I recorded to and keeping all the punchy hits. Ableton Live is working well for me. I've got to figure out how to record acoustic guitar with minimal gear...

24.01.2022 Off to the UK and Europe for some R and R. Hope to see my old UK muso buddies and family members gigging, performing. P-Bass, I'll miss you. Djembes, I'll miss you too. But your presence will be felt as I mix your recorded tracks while I'm away. When I get back there will be some new bass pedals with me. Mu-haha-ha!

21.01.2022 We've got 3 EPs; 2 of which are unreleased. And we've got many more songs than that written - some of the songs that don't belong to the EPs are Liz's favourites. We really should have a band meeting and get our music out to the people.

14.01.2022 How do you discover new music? I use YouTube. The music that has grabbed me by the cajones this last year has been: Royal Blood's album, Royal Blood; Children of Bodom's I Worship Chaos; Death of Art's War EP.

09.01.2022 As Dorothy said, 'There's no place like home.' She may have clicked her heels together, I'm not sure. We've been back in Melbourne for two weeks. The living room has been baby-proofed; we can now entertain (Nikolai), collaborate and listen. Liz and I are working on an instrumental I wrote a while back called Tempest. Liz has written the lyrics, vocal melody and harmony for the backing vocals. We've recreated the drum patterns in Ableton Live and substituted new sounds. There are dance risers in place and now we're going to play our instruments to the backing and jam until the song feels right. Out come the guitars and we'll push the arrangement around until it's done. :-)
