24.01.2022 Sea Shepherd Australia will be screening ALBATROSS THE FILM, a visually powerful and heart-wrenching journey of one of the world's largest and amazing seabird...s, around the country in the coming months. Alarmingly, an estimated 90 percent of seabirds have plastic in their guts and on average 1 million birds die per year due to plastic pollution. These are just some of the tragic consequences of our insane love affair with plastic. To help spread the message, director Chris Jordan has allowed these screenings to be FREE but all donations will be gratefully accepted so that Sea Shepherd can to continue to defend of the world's oceans. Our first screening will be Albatross the Film: Launceston: Sea Shepherd Australia MDC this Friday, May 25 where our friend Senator Peter Whish-Wilson will be introducing the film along with guest speaker Dr Jennifer Lavers, a marine researcher at the University of Tasmania, who will be sharing her passion and love for sea birds with the audience. You can view our Facebook Event Calendar to find out where other screenings are taking place around the country: https://bit.ly/2x2IDIy #FortheOceans #StemtheTide Sea Shepherd Marine Debris Campaign Australia Jeff Hansen #plasticpollution Albatross by Chris Jordan

14.01.2022 The Victorian scientific lust, after Darwin, to classify and catalogue every living plant, animal and human tribe had made no inroads on the fish's privacy. Indeed, extreme scarcity is one of its greatest survival gifts. It was in 1916- and still is, almost a century later- a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a fisherman or a sailor to see such a fish. 07.01.2022 With 9 billion plastic bags used in Australia every year, reusable bags are clearly the way to go. NSW is the only Australian state yet to take action on lightw...eight plastic bags despite support from all major supermarkets. Send the NSW Premier and Environment Minister a quick message to urge them along: http://www.boomerangalliance.org.au/email_bags
