17.01.2022 A very special day at Telopea Park in Buxton today, with the official opening of a new community playground and memorial dedication to honour Horsley Park NSW R...ural Fire Service volunteer firefighters Andrew O'Dwyer and Geoff Keaton who tragically died whilst fire fighting in the local area on the 19th December 2019. Hosted by Wollondilly Shire Council, proceedings included a welcome to Country, smoking ceremony and heartfelt addresses to family, colleagues and community gathered, from our Prime Minister Scott Morrison (ScoMo) and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, recognising and acknowledging the sacrifice and significance of such a fitting and beautiful community project. Was lovely to see young Charlotte and Harvey playing on the equipment and in the playground that has been built and dedicated to their dads. Their smile and laughter was simply infectious. A truly wonderful example of local community led projects, that matter to all those affected and impacted by the fires and tragic loss of Andrew and Geoff last year. A huge shout out to Krystal who conceived the idea and all those who donated and assisted in realising her wonderful initiative. A special shout out too, to Kim who made it all happen, and who was coincidentally named this week, as our 2020 NSW Volunteer of the year - deservedly so. Thanks again all involved for such a special and fitting tribute as well as a lovely day. Resilience NSW

06.01.2022 Today along with Mitchell’s Island, harrington and moorland. We attended coopernook park to be blessed ahead of the fire season for the trucks and crew and we received a lovely gift. Thank you.

04.01.2022 Hi Everyone Santa is coming to town to visit our local community and say hi to all the children with the help from Harrington Rural Fire Brigade . This year will be a little bit different as Santa will not be standing in the back of the fire truck waving and wishing everyone a merry Christmas, He will be walking behind the fire truck to say hi to the kids.Santa’s helpers will be walking with Santa handing out lollies to the kids.... We can not give times to be at exact locations on our route and we could be called away during our Santa run to attend an incident in our area, and depending on weather conditions at the time we might have to cut the Santa run short as Santa could get very hot in his suit as he is walking behind the truck this year. On behalf of the Officers and Members of Harrington Rural Fire Brigade we would like to wish our local community a Merry Christmas and would like to say thank you for your support of the Harrington Rural Fire Brigade.
