22.01.2022 Good Evening Bears, Today has been one of the craziest days in history for most clubs and certainly for our young club. It is disappointing to say that the directive today from the Masters Association is that the season is postponed and we are not allowed to play matches or train as a group until at least 31/5. We are looking for solutions to maintain our fitness, one option is to coordinate small training groups away from the club without the Bears apparel but we will explo...re and discuss further options. We will look for guidance from the Australian Government and the Masters Assoc with regards to the size of these gatherings in the coming days. Our primary concern is protecting our members and their families from COVID-19. By taking these precautions we should be back into normal training and playing in the very near future. We will endeavor to keep you informed as soon as we get further details but at this stage there will be no formal training or games until we are given the go ahead by the appropriate groups, associations and government. Poker will be on after training 5th Feb, and a curry night in the coming weeks!!!... Weekly player profile this week is Scotty Winter who is an absolute Legend, devoting a lot of time over the years to junior footy and Auskick, most recently as a coach for the Piara Waters Pirates, Pre-primary Blue Aus Kick team. He's also a left footer and must endure a shlacking from the other members every Wednesday at training. We asked Scott some questions to help us all get to know him a little better. What brought you to the Bears footy club? Watching my kids playing Auskick made me want to have the same experience of JOY Thanks Coach Pippo for the invite to train and meet the BEARS What is your favourite part of the club? The Comradery and the beers after training. What was your footy experience before playing for the Bears? 30+ year ago, I played for Rostrata Junior Football Club, more recently coaching Auskick for my sons Levi and Seth teams. 16.01.2022 5 weeks till our first Game-day!!!! Getting Exciting... We skipped a week for the weekly profile, but to make up for it, we're doing something a little different this time round. We took some time from the president of the Bears himself after the members meeting/training on Wednesday, to ask him some questions about his inspirations, motivations to create the Bears among others.... Instead of typing out the questions and answers though, we videoed Warren answering our questions, but with a little twist. We ate a pepper for every question, and stepped up the heat each time. Warren took the challenge like the champ he is, check it out!!

This weeks player is Michael Beck, who is one of the founding members of the club. Becks is motivated and looking forward to the first game. I saw Banksy's original post asking for interest on Piara Waters chat...he said it'd be ok if I had zero experience...it was perfect haha. Q. What is your favourite part of the club? A. The sense of community it brings. Went from knowing no one in the area to a whole group of guys that have your back. It's awesome. A. What was your footy experience before playing for the Bears? Q. Watching on TV! Used to yell when they'd miss an easy kick...thought even I could kick that!...I no longer do that A. All time favourite quote? Q. 11.01.2022 Good Afternoon All, Due to ongoing developments with COVID-19, we have decided to postpone the game against the Pigs indefinitely. It is decided that to have that many people at our grounds tomorrow evening would not be aligned with the current environment and would be socially irresponsible, so we have taken the position to postpone the game. The Board is currently looking into the possibilities for tomorrow night and will update you all shortly.... Thank you all for your support and patience with regards to the matter, the Board is taking your health and safety seriously and we want to get this right for you and your families.

11.01.2022 What a ripper of a match last night!! Thank you everyone who helped putting last nights scratch match together, particularly the coaches, Paul Eckermann and Michael Pippen. We also had Steve and Chris who did an amazing job sorting out the bar, and organising the apparel sales... Great job and appreciated!!!... Best on Ground performance last night goes to none other than Michael Beck as the umpire, with his breakaway holding the ball call on the president no less. The hesitation in the call let everyone know he was limiting his career at the Bears. Well done and thank you to the umpires who also did a terrific job. There were 46 players attending last night, not including some of the non-playing members and umpires. Awesome turnout, including some of the fams watching on. Thank you again all Bears who made this such a great night.

10.01.2022 Awesome session last night!!! great turn out too. Last night we held a poker game during post train beers. This was a tournament style, winner takes all. Congratulations Benjamin Foster and Jim Van Leuven in splitting the winnings at the end.... There seemed to be some interest from the sidelines too, so we can look into doing a poker seminar during post training beers one day. Well done guys!!!

06.01.2022 A note from the President As the President of the Bears, I would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Easter weekend. During an indifferent time we are challenged with isolation, something we have never been presented with before but I personally am pleased to see so many of the Bears community using their initiative to get through these unprecedented times. ... Physical challenges have been made and accepted. Video conferencing/ catch ups have started and feedback was that it was a huge success. We have more initiatives to follow to keep us all in touch, working towards getting back on the training track and into our first game which is very exciting. Well done to all involved! 05.01.2022 At the direction of the WAFC all community football in WA, including masters football has been postponed until 31/5/2020. This includes training. The board is working towards a solution so that we can get back to playing a reduced season as soon as restrictions are lifted and will advise in due course. Please understand that the descisions that have been made are in the interests of community safety and the safety of the Masters family. ... At this stage, planning is still proceeding for the National Carnival which, we are hoping, will still proceed. Emails have been sent to all clubs today in relation to this direction. 05.01.2022 What a success training was last night!!! Great seeing each and every one of you. Big shout out to Paul Eckermann and Michael Pippen for putting together an awesome training plan in difficult circumstances. The 2 groups were successfully ran and I only heard positive feedback from everyone. We need to keep going with the processes, following rules etc. Next week, please use the 'Going' option for the training event in Facebook and if you cannot make it close to the date, plea...se let us know ASAP. We'd love to get some feedback, and also your input into training next week. If you have some non-contact drills that you would like to run next week, please submit these and we may get to run them next week:) Thank you again to all of you, for your patience and responsibility when it's comes to the approach to training and COVID return to training guidelines.
