21.01.2022 Amid the ongoing health pandemic, the Federal Government is still pushing ahead with its plan to close the Family Court of Australia, during this spring. The Federal Circuit Court of Australia, which the Federal Government proposes will basically take over most of the work, has reported that it cannot keep up with the work that it already has. The Government’s plan is doomed to failure but this failure will come at personal and financial risk of harm to families and especia...lly children. Whatever your personal experience with the Family Court of Australia, everyone will appreciate that we need a specialist Court to deal with the most important of issues arising from family breakdowns. Les Stubbs, our family law director is asking you to please take any opportunity that you get to oppose this move write to your member of Parliament, tell your family and friends to do the same. Don’t let this move go through. . . #FamilyLaw #FamilyCourt #FederalCircuitCourtofAustralia #FederalGovernment #Family #Children #FamilyLawSpecialist

21.01.2022 This October Harris Freidman is taking part in the Black Dog Institute challenge, #OneFootForward 2020 has been a particularly challenging year for many and the Black Dog Institute is asking people join them and walk in their new virtual challenge. Their challenge is to walk 20km, 40km or 60km during Mental Health Month this October to support mental health research and raise funds for mental health research. Scott has raised the bar for Harris Freidman and is committed to... walking 350km in October! Putting much of us to shame, some staff are going to up the ante and now commit to 150km each! With Harris Freidman taking part in One Foot Forward, we're helping fund vital support services, as well as life-changing research into prevention and treatment of mental illness. It is also a good excuse for us all to keep healthy & active and to socialise out of the office at lunch time in some fresh air! If anyone would like to donate and encourage the Harris Freidman Team to reach their targets it would be greatly appreciated!

20.01.2022 A very warm welcome to a new member of the Harris Freidman team! Michael Joseph is a Consultant at Harris Freidman and has 30 years' experience in commercial litigation. He is also an Accredited Mediator and specialist in Conflict and Dispute Resolution.

13.01.2022 "The Federal Court has confirmed that a ‘casual’ employee who works systematic and regular hours is entitled to the same paid leave entitlements as permanent employees." . . . #employmentlaw #work #careers #business #harrisfreidman #hflawyers #auslaw #australia #sydney

11.01.2022 A big thank you to all those who donated to our Black Dog Institute "One Foot Forward" fundraiser! Harris Freidman managed to raise $6,897 (double our initial goal of $3,500) and walked over 2,251 km's for mental health research! Special mention goes to Les Stubbs and Scott Freidman who walked 349km and 450km respectively! Unbelievable. Go team!

04.01.2022 Harris Freidman is 15 today! What a wonderful journey it has been. Thank you to all our clients and staff who have been with us along the way. ... We look forward to another successful 15 years.

02.01.2022 It is a criminal offence to publish details of people involved in the #familylaw #proceedings precisely to stop unscrupulous people from taking advantage of them when they are at their most vulnerable emotionally and financially. This type of criminal behavior is abhorrent. If you are approached by anyone about your family law problems, you should immediately tell your lawyer so that they can protect you. Don’t be a victim.
