20.01.2022 Introducing our Contributing Artist / Designer: av park ‘ u o d ‘* collection - sets upon an array of visual surface interpretations; largely based upon on a particular, popular late 80s childhood toy called ‘my little pony.’** ... A. visual park indeed for the eyes; for what one sees and what holds beneath the eye, this collection allows many interpretations towards the viewer to question themselves of their states of childhood nostalgia. * ( the upside down word of 'pony’ ) ** Primarily aimed at young girls during the 80s and early 00s to play with these plastic toys and to teach about friendships and having fun.At the beginning, my little pony aimed primarily to appreciate childhood qualities on girls rather than allow children to become adults and to play as grown ups e.g Barbie. Now, this toy has become popular towards the young adult male population, a group now called the ‘Bronies’ and is still based primarily on the concept of ‘friendships' This collection can be viewed at the upcoming exhibition Harris Street Collective at The Muse commencing the 23rd November. Opening night is on the 26th November 6-8pm.

19.01.2022 Introducing our Contributing Artist / Designer: Karen Tam The oceana collection is not about the sea.... It is a collection which explores patterns, textures, natural fibres and monochromatic elements. Designs which accentuate a surface’s inherent beauty rather than conceal, achieved through experimentation and adaptation. The print collection was inspired by kimono patterns and ancient civilisations' use of pattern with pattern interpreted in the designer’s own style. Individual print designs which also work well overlayed over another or in a unique combination of print and pattern. The oceana collection evokes old world nostalgia and recollections of distant shores, paying homage to old traditions such as natural dyeing, embellishment and use of natural materials brought together in a classic yet modern style. You can see more of Karen's work at the upcoming exhibition Harris Street Collective commencing on the 23rd of November until the 27th. 10am- 6pm daily.
