06.01.2022 :: Icon :: - NewRelease - Limited Edition Print Only 100 being printed. Commonly referred to as the Blue Boat House, this icon is a boathouse located on the Swan River at Crawley in Perth, Western Australia. A well known landmark, the boatshed was built in the 1930s, and since the 1940s has been owned mainly by the Nattrass family.... I recently spent a couple of days in Perth assisting & instructing a Photography workshop with and obo Mark Gray of Mark Gray Photography. We discussed going out each morning at sunrise before the WorkShops to photograph this Iconic boat shed. We had three mornings to do so. On the first morning, the sky was overcast. It was ok but the colour was flat. We packed up early and left. The second morning was the complete opposite of the first morning, total clear skies. Better but not quite there. We had one more morning. We had a good feel about morning three. We were up early, as you are for sunrise photography. It was slightly overcast with a promising hint of something special on the horizon. We set up and waited. Then it happened. A beautiful red glow. It was over in minutes. Fortunately I was able to capture this.
