23.01.2022 It’s almost Spring! Can definitely feel it in the air today, it’s such a beautiful day! I finally got around to building Harry’s Cubby house. Pretty proud of myself! I added in a few little extras like the hanging pots, door bell and his own mailbox. Still have to finish off his door mat which I’m personalising and fill the flower baskets. 21.01.2022 Our home made silverbeet and feta gozlemes. Using silverbeet from our garden that we grew from seed. Super delicious with a squeeze of lemon juice (thanks to our neighbours abundant lemon tree!). Recipe: * 3 cups plain flour... * 8g instant dried yeast * 1 tsp caster sugar * 1/3 cup olive oil * Pinch of salt * Silverbeet * Feta * 1 egg For the filling, I usually lightly boil the silverbeet and let it cool. I then add the whisked egg and crumbled feta and mix through and add salt and pepper to taste. For the dough: Add the yeast, salt and caster sugar to approx. 300ml warm water. Wait for bubbles to form on the surface. Sift the flour into a large bowl and add the water and yeast mixture. Form a soft dough. Knead for a few minutes until smooth and then divide into 4 pieces. Sit on a greased baking tray, cover with a tea towel and let sit for 20 mins or until it is double in size. Roll each piece into a rectangle. Place filling inside and fold over and press the edges together. I generally pan fry them but cooking them on a bbq plate is definitely amazing! It was a lot of fun watching the roots form and watching the seedlings shoot out of the test tubes! 06.01.2022 Some of our seeds graduated to pots and garden beds this weekend. We planted out some cucumbers, tomatoes, radish, sunflowers and sugar snap peas. Next weekend we’ll plant our herbs that we’ve grown from seed too. 03.01.2022 A very busy, fun and hot afternoon spent in the garden! Our sunflowers, marigold, purple beans, snow peas and cucumbers grown from seed/bean are looking great! Today we planted some strawberries, apple cucumbers (my fave! ), 4 varieties of tomatoes, capsicum and jalapeños!
