25.01.2022 As mentioned earlier, we have temporarily turned our restaurant Harry’s on Green Lane, into a popup flower shop called Harry Loves Flowers. And we are now busily planning ahead for Mother’s Day. If you would like a beautifully arranged bouquet by our resident florist @alisonkennon or a voluptuous bunch of fresh garden blooms like these, let us know and we can arrange them for you. #harrylovesflowers #alisonkennonbotanicalartist #mothersday #bouquets #hedgerowbunches #flowers #thelanguageoflove #locallygrown #rosesfrommygarden

24.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Well. Another week, another adaptation! We’ve added a popup pantry/general store to our Plantation cafe, so you can stock up on staples when you call in for your daily coffee and takeaways. Our huge communal table is now laden with goodies including all your favourite wines from Harry’s wine list, along with gourmet pantry goods, cut flowers, fresh eggs, vegetables, pasta rice etc. Also gifts, plants, herbs and vegetable seedlings and garden tools. Swing by on your daily walk and come in for a coffee, a chat and pick up some provisions. We’d love to see you! Open daily from 9 am. #changingwiththetimes #plantationcafe #harrysongreenlane #plantationpantry #popupgeneralstore #bowraltakeaways #takehomemeals #theorangerybowral #thepottingshedbowral @theorangerybowral @thepottingshedbowral @plantationcafebowral

23.01.2022 After a brutal summer, drenching autumn rains brought our garden back to life and it is now heaving with roses and late summer perennials. So, as we can’t operate Harry’s as a restaurant for the foreseeable future, we have turned the space into a popup flower shop called Harry Loves Flowers. Quite appropriate really, as the namesake for our restaurant, Sir Harry Veitch, was not only the founder of the Chelsea Flower Show, but was one of Britain’s most entrepreneurial Vict...orian nurserymen and responsible for dispatching planthunters all over the globe to find beautiful plants for his wealthy London clientele. So now, every morning I head out into the garden at dawn with baskets and secateurs and gather flowers and foliage for the shop. Brilliant local botanical artist, Alison Kennon then comes to turn them into wonderful, sumptuous, romantic bouquets and posies. They will be available every day and you might think about planning ahead for something special for Mother’s Day. #harryslovesflowers #harrysongreenlane #popupflowershop #alisonkennonbotanicaldesign #covidcollaborations #adaptadaptadapt #flowerswillmakeyourday #fillyourhousewithflowers #weloveflowers @harrysongreenlane @alisonkennon @theorangerybowral @plantationcafebowral @thepottingshedbowral @greenlanebowral See more

22.01.2022 Great to catch up over brunch at Harry’s yesterday with good friends Trent Nathan and Anthony Brown. Always plenty of laughs with these two around and with the fire roaring and delicious smells from the kitchen, it was definitely a good place to be on such a cold day. #friendship #laughter #brunch #harrysongreenlane #trentnathanartist #anthonybrownwoodtherapy

22.01.2022 Gosh another star studded week here at Harry’s. Celebrity guests included French born star of stage and screen, Julia Zemiro of Rockwiz fame, Seven News presenter Michael Usher, Fitness and Health guru Michelle Bridges, Australian actress Kate Ritchie, Australian fashion icon Trent Nathan, AM., former politician, now Director of Canberra’s War Memorial, Brendan Nelson AO and his wife Gillian, and celebrated Australian artist John Olson AO, OBE, winner of the 2005 Archibald ...Prize, along with his daughter Louise Olsen of global brand Dinosaur Designs. Imagine the conversations if they had all been on the one table! Commenting on the many new pictures hung recently on the already crammed walls of Harry’s, Mr Olsen quipped, with his inimitable boyish grin: "well, my dear, as Oscar Wilde famously said, ‘Nothing succeeds like excess’! Quite right, I laughed. More is definitely more. And there are lots more in the storeroom yet to be hung. Thanks to all our wonderful regulars and their families and friends who came and shared lunch or dinner with us this week, and warmed themselves by our fire. We wish you all a very happy and relaxed weekend. #harrysongreenlane #haveahappyweekend See more

20.01.2022 Good morning. Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday in Green Lane. It was a special day in so many ways. Camaraderie, conversation, community, companionship, collaboration and good cheer. It was supremely uplifting to hear so many stories from those who met the dawn in their driveways. To feel the respect and reflection. To share the Anzac spirit. And also to feel a lighter mood as people sense we may be getting closer to being able to return to a more normal daily l...ife. And lots of gifts came in other ways. Our friend Tony Brown surprised us with a special batch of Gallipoli Rosemary sourdough; Jonathon Pappas brought us his amazing figs and pomegranates from Cowra and shared his passion for the ancient Greek heirloom breeds he grows; and a parade of friends arrived with unexpected offerings to add to our little Green Lane Market tables. Stunning home made Lemon Sherbet and Lavender shortbread lovingly wrapped and labeled; buckets full of freshly cut local dahlias and foliage for decorating our little popup flower shop and gifts of home grown honey and produce. This dreamlike village life that we all love so much, is what so many fought for and gave their lives for. We live this way because of them. How lucky we all are. #lestweforget #thankyou See more

18.01.2022 How excited we were yesterday to have in our midst 2018 Australian of the Year, Professor Michelle Simmons. Hosts Bill and Imelda Roche AO and family, shared lunch with Michelle and her husband Thomas Barlow in The Plantation Room at Harry’s. Then it was on to Wombat Hollow for Afternoon Tea where Michelle was guest speaker. One of the world’s top scientists, Professor Simmons has pioneered research that could lead to a quantum leap in computing. Since arriving in Australia from Britain 18 years ago, Michelle has transformed the University of NSW Quantum Physics Department into a world leader in advanced computer systems. #vipguest #2018australianoftheyear #quantumphysics #changingourworld #harrysongreenlane #greenlanebowral @wombathollow_

14.01.2022 Good morning everyone. After an amazingly uplifting day yesterday, we are excited to get out and share this beautiful, sunny day. Thank you to all those who came to support our new Plantation Pantry and to cheer us on yesterday. It was a very special and quite emotional day, with a steady stream of visitors, lively conversations, beautiful acts of kindness and lots of laughter. At last. We feel we are looking ahead. Not frozen in a moment of Covid anxiety. And then, when a ...regular Harry’s customer phoned to ask if she could move an April booking to October, my heart soared. It really felt like there was light at the end of the tunnel. That someone was actually planning ahead to celebrate with friends in our restaurant in a few months time. This was a big deal. It meant that yes, Spring would come again, and with it the hope of a return to all the things in life we love. So today, we’re looking ahead. And especially to this Easter weekend, which will be held at home for most. Not away on holidays, but home on holidays. With family. So if you’d like something nice to brighten your Easter table, why not use a Green theme, to represent the green shoots of future growth? We have lots of lovely green Bordallo Pinheiro tableware, green bunnies, green plants and pots and other pretty things to add fun and beauty to your family gathering. We’re open daily from 9 am with coffee, takeaways, take home meals, wine and pantry goods, plants, gifts and more. Have a beautiful day! xxx #greenshoots #lookingforward #holdontohope #weareallinthistogether #actsofkindness #canmakesomeonesday #thankyouthankyouthankyou! See more

10.01.2022 First frost this morning in the Highlands, so winter is definitely on the way. And we have lovely wood racks and fire pits for your home and garden. This one comes in 3 sizes and it has been very handy to fuel our Street Kitchen bbq which will be on again today from 11.30. So if you’re out for a walk in the sunshine, drop by for some lunch! #greenlanestreetkitchen #firepitsbowral #woodracks #allsetforwinter #harrysongreenlane #thepottingshedbowral #theorangerybowral @thepottingshedbowral @plantationcafebowral @theorangerybowral

07.01.2022 Fresh in this morning. These gorgeous flowers are by local botanical artist Alison Kennon and will be available most days at our new Plantation Pantry. Here, Madeleine’s choice includes dahlias, David Austin roses and other old fashioned favorites and herbs from her mother’s garden. These make an enchanting gift for a friend or daughter. You may not be able to visit, but you can leave them at their door. And ring the bell. And disappear. Imagine their delight. #freshflowersdaily #theperfectgift #sayitwithflowers #thelanguageoflove #supportlocaltalent #shoplocal #alisonkennon #weareallinthistogether @alisonkennon @plantationcafebowral @harrysongreenlane @theorangerybowral @thepottingshedbowral @thegreenhousemossvale

04.01.2022 Wanting to express your special feelings of love for your mother or grandmother or great grandmother or ‘other mother’, this Mother’s Day? Let nature help you. And say it with flowers. Natural, poetic, garden fresh posies and bouquets can say so much to the person you love the most. Our resident botanical artist, Alison Kennon, will be making extra special arrangements, but stocks are limited, especially this year, so best to pre order.
