25.01.2022 Hi everyone, Instead of a newsletter I am going to put up a Facebook Post with some photos. It has indeed been a difficult year but I must congratulate everyone on how they have taken to remote learning. It is important to remember that these are unprecedented times. The most important thing is health and safety. Children are doing some good things and uploading them to SEESAW. Our craft acitivities are also going really well. Once again - it is not a race. Slow aqnd steady w...ith school work and plenty of time to have fun both indoors and out. Harston students have been very competent users of technology for many years and now they are able to use these skills on a daily basis. Dont forget to complete tasks set by Mrs Answer and login to my Webex days. This is also how we mark your attendance. I am going to put together some of the photos sent to me that show our kids having fun at home. Keep sending the photos to me and I will make regular posts. Stay safe everyone. See more

25.01.2022 Pandemic Fun featuring Harston families.

24.01.2022 Many, many thanks to Nicolle, Helen and Marg for adapting their talents for remote learning. There have been lots and lots of positives. The use of technology, the input from parents, the independent learning habits and communication via videoconference to mention a few. Time now for a complete rest from any school work. Kids - look after yourselves and your families. Stay safe and healthy. Don’t relax on COVID SAFETY. Happy holidays.... See more

24.01.2022 Many thanks to Foodbank once again. We have hampers made up for all families to pick up from tomorrow Monday October 19th. Grand Final holiday this Friday October 23rd. No school. Stay safe and well.

23.01.2022 This morning Mr Pettigrew left us some chalk so once the fog lifted at lunchtime we spent some time doing chalk art on the netball court. All the children had a go. Can you pick your child’s art?

22.01.2022 Mrs H made masks for all the kids!

21.01.2022 Kids are doing great things at home. Parents are doing an excellent job and videoconferencing is working well. All in all a pretty good result for us all at Harston. Who would have thought in 1874 that our school would be doing such things. 146 years later - still going strong. Well done to everyone.

21.01.2022 Some great pics of Harston kids cooking. Looking good. Well done.

20.01.2022 Ready to be quilted and I get the dining table back

20.01.2022 A great big thanks to COLES Riverside Plaza Shepparton and the wonderful Sharryn for great support to Harston Primary School. All the kids will enjoy thegoodies.

20.01.2022 A great place to exercise. The AUSTRALIAN BOTANICAL GARDENS, SHEPPARTON. Turn across the bridge from Mooroopna to Shepparton, down River Road and turn left at the sign. Also some great scenery and native flora to look at. A simple free day out for families and kids when a bit of normality returns.

19.01.2022 And more photos. Yum

17.01.2022 Great to see parents involved in some fabulous learning activities. Well done to everyone. It is a strange year but there are lots of positives happening.

16.01.2022 Marg pondering over how to put the Pandemic wall hanging together. Kids have drawn emojis on calico. Looks like the dining table is out of action for a while.

13.01.2022 Here is a great photo of one of our Harston Kids.

11.01.2022 Some more great photos of Harston Kids having fun and learning during the Pandemic.

11.01.2022 Try this website kids https://rspcavic.org/services/education-and-learning/aware Worth exploring.... Have fun and stay safe.

09.01.2022 All going well at Harston. Good to be back onsite. Many thanks once again to the work done by parents during remote learning. Looking forward to a safe and happy rest of 2020. More enrolments for 2021 would be great.

06.01.2022 Great to have everyone back at school. There have been a number great successes with remote learning. The ease with which our children handled the technology was great. Support from families was also excellent. Videoconferencing will be an ongoing part of education in the future.... It will also be valuable in conducting meetings, training and professional learning. Whilst our world has changed considerably there are many positives for the years to come. Small schools have handled remote learning as well as any and in fact sometimes better. Our kids learn to be independent very early in their schooling. This is an enormous positive. Stay safe and well everyone. See more

05.01.2022 School back on Monday October 5th for Prep, one and two. Everyone else back on Wednesday October 7th. Parents should return all books, iPads, craft tubs etc,,,, on Monday morning. Looking forward to a COVID normal term. All safety precautions will continue to operate and parents are asked not to enter school buildings. Don’t forget that Daylight Saving starts this a Sunday.

03.01.2022 End of term 3. To say it has been an interesting year would be a massive understatement. Returning to onsite teaching and learning on October 5th ( prep to 2) with everyone back on Wednesday October 14th at our school. Well done to all children at Harston (and every other school) for the work done over the past term. Special thanks to all the families for supporting the school and working with their kids. I hope everyone has a well earned break. Stay safe and well. Let us hope that we all get back to a new normal very soon.

03.01.2022 Term three has started and we are all looking forward to getting back a bit of new normality. Understandably many parents are concerned but we can all make a positive contribution by social distancing, hand washing, coughing into our elbow and STAYING HOME unless it absolutely essential to leave the house. Our kids have learned quickly about this new way to live. We have lots of fun activities planned and heaps of resources to support learning. Please remember- children sho...uld not come to school if they are sick and should stay home until COMPLETELY better. We are all in this together and it only takes one poor decision to put lots of people at risk. Stay safe and well. See more

02.01.2022 Well done to everyone. A new week of remote learning coming up. We have some great activities online and kids that know how to negotiate the technology. Just remember- it’s not a competition to see who can do the most work. Just complete the set tasks and upload to Seesaw. Also login promptly to Webex. MOST important - have fun and STAY SAFE!!!!!!!!
