16.01.2022 Leaf and debris diversion systems are referred to as rain heads in Australia. Their main purpose is to create a 'break' between the downpipe and the gutter so that if the downpipe becomes blocked, the water will flow out over the top of the rain head instead of backing up the gutter and flooding the building. 11.01.2022 PRINCETON HAS THE EYE OF THE TIGER! On the 16th of November 2000, American university Princeton gained two guardians for Princeton stadium. Constructed of stainless steel, the two 3,176 kilo tiger statues were given to Princeton as a gift from investment banker William M, Weaver Jnr., a previous graduate of Princeton (1934) who had donated money to construct a track field stadium named in his honour.... The magnificent tigers are 2.7 meters tall, 4.8 meters long and were created by North Carolina metal sculptor Ruffin Hobbs in only 3 months! The tigers are set up in a pouncing stance, which Hobbs commented on the Princeton website, Stainless Steel is so tough but its clear that if you heat it right and shape it right, you can create a kind of movement with it. In the sunlight, iridescent patterns on the stainless imply tiger stripes and valves were sculpted to create tiger paws. The bodies of the mighty beast are hollow, with the outline made of mesh. This was soon filled out, as after spending a winter in the University greenhouse, ivy was grown inside both the tigers, creating a nice bushy coat. Coinciding with the ancient beliefs of tigers being reincarnations of royalty, it only seems fitting for their home be on the grounds of Princeton!

10.01.2022 The catch cry that Scotland was the only place in the world that was suitable for making single malt whisky irritated David Baker to such an extent that he decided to try and make it for himself and prove the sceptics wrong. All that was 14 years ago. With clean air, good water and an abundance of excellence barley why couldnt we make world class single malt whisky? And that is exactly the thoughts that went through David Bakers mind prior to establishing his Bakery Hill Di...stillery David commenced laboratory trials in 1999 to fully understand the process of converting barley into whisky. Confident that he had the results he was looking for; Davids next step was to scale up the process to full commercial size. This was done with the use of equipment at the Mountain Goat Brewery in Richmond, a company that George Hart, from Hart to Hart had built many excellent fermentors for. David had a company from the UK draw up plans for a 1000 litre copper still to produce the spirit. For all the other tanks required, David utilised the services of Hart to Hart that designed, constructed and installed them. The design and construction for all these brewing vessels (under the contract of Hart to Hart) were fully installed by the end of July 2007. Once fully installed, Bakery Hills production capacity increased five fold.
