25.01.2022 Thank you !! Thank you !! Thank you !! As you know, this past weekend should of been the 21st running of our much loved Cycle Challenge. However due to th...e COIVD-19 Pandemic, the event had to be cancelled for 2020. Despite this, we at Hartley would like to express our gratitude to all our supporters, clients, participants, volunteers, staff members, and the wider community for your unconditional support. Many of our amazing teams have continued their fundraising efforts to give the event a head start for next year (news about this to follow shortly). We are looking forward to returning in 2021 bigger and better than ever with an exciting new route and journey (pending COVID restrictions of course). Love Hartley

24.01.2022 MARKETS CANCELLED Not the news we wanted to share heading into the weekend, but once again, after consultation with key health representatives and the ACT... Government, Hartley have decided to cancel the October Markets. This decision has been based on the updated advice from the ACT Government released last week regarding Canberras Recovery Plan and associated restrictions. Again, we understand this will be frustrating, however we must put the safety of the market customers, stallholders, staff and volunteers at the forefront of our decision making. If you have any questions or queries regarding cancellation arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact our Markets Manager Mel at [email protected]. 16.01.2022 Vale - Peter Bray OAM The Hartley Community is saddened by the news of the passing of one of our greatest volunteers and contributors, Mr Peter Bray OAM. Peter has been a huge part of the Hartley Lifecare Family for many years and his connection with Hartley started many years ago as Executive Director of the organisation. ... He has since been a huge part of our volunteer family for over 30 years and was recognised for his amazing service last year when he was awarded the Senior Volunteer of the Year from the ACT Government. Peter was also involved in many Hartley Events, including the book stalls at The Fyshwick Fresh Food Markets, organising the Apple Pick, where people would come and pick apples in an orchard in McKellar, and of course his unwavering support at the Hartley Hall Markets. Every month at the Hall Markets you could find Peter sweeping the bridge, his first job of the day, and then cooking on the BBQs until close. His last gesture at the markets was to hand out his favourite lollies, Werthers Original Caramels, to all the volunteers. Peter was a great character and a great community member. He was always keeping spirits high when telling his jokes and just being the warm and kind man that he was. We would hear about his times in the army, alongside Ross Ellis, another markets volunteer, and the adventures and stories they shared together. Our thoughts go out to Peters family and close friends, his love for them and the Hartley Family was immense. We will miss you Peter, the markets will never be the same without you.

06.01.2022 CANCELLED - CYCLE CHALLENGE 2020 After extensive discussions and consultation with both the ACT and NSW Governments in relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic, ...the Hartley Lifecare Board has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Hartley Cycle Challenge. Please follow the link here for more information - https://www.hartley.org.au/event/the-hartley-cycle-challenge This decision was based on Hartleys responsibility to safeguard our clients, staff, volunteers, and event participants from the risks associated with holding such an event during the current pandemic. The safety of the wider community was also at the forefront of the Boards decision making process.
