25.01.2022 With The lift of sales restrictions Hartleys hunting and fishing will reopen tomorrow Wednesday the 13/5 and resume normal trading hours. Thanks for your patience the team at hartleys

24.01.2022 Here's a fishing report for the end of December. The Campaspe River is fishing well with both Murray Cod and Yellowbelly being angled in good numbers. Casting spinnerbaits and shallow diving lures like Oar-Gee Plows and Custom Crafted lures has proven to be the most effective; especially for those fishing out of a kayak. The stretch from below Lake Eppalock through to Rochester is more than worth a try considering all the reports. The Loddon River is not as clear as The Campa...spe, so lure fishing is a lot harder. Anglers using bait have been having decent success using scrubworms and yabbies, mainly below Lannecoorie down to the Serpentine Weir. Lake Cairn Curran has still been yielding a few Yellowbelly, bait has been the best option here. Lake Eppalock is still a bit hard going, with anglers finding it hard to get onto a decent size school of Redfin. Also the odd Cod has been picked up trolling and on bait as well as spinnerbaits. Still getting reports of Cod and yellowbelly being caught in the Gunbower creek. See more

12.01.2022 Here's the fishing report for the week: The Loddon River has been producing a few Yellowbelly, mainly below Lannecoorie, reports have mostly been on scrub worms and small yabbies. Similar story around Serpentine, also reported to be producing a few on bait. All round the Loddon is still dirty making lure fishing more difficult. Lake Cairn Curran is still yielding Yellowbelly this week, although most have been on the smaller side according to reports. Again yabbies and vibe st...yle lures have been the most successful. Lake Eppalock remains slow at present, only receiving reports of the odd few Yellowbelly, no reports on the Redfin front out there. To those that do head out there, small yabbies are still a great start as always. No reports from Tullaroop Reservior aside from the high water levels, should be a great place to try for a few Redfin following some more warm weather. Lastly, locally, for those just looking to drown a worm or go for a quick flick, plenty of big Carp to be cleaned up out of Lake Neangar, we've seen plenty around the 70cm mark being caught there in the last week, as well as a few midsize Redfin. Feel free to leave any reports you are willing to share down in the comments, hopefully we can help a few more people land a few fish over the weekend.

03.01.2022 With the increased reports in fish being caught, here are some of the common reports we've had. The Yellowbelly are biting well in Cairn Curran, at present anglers using small yabbies are doing well. The Loddon River is patchy at present with the occasional Yella being taken on lures and on spinnerbaits.... Reports received of Yellowbelly going well below Lannecoorie Weir with a fresh flow of water coming through. Below Cairn Curran, Newbridge and Serpentine, have been the recommended place to start. Lake Eppalock is hit or miss, but we have received some reports of Big Yellas being caught recent;y. Redfin have been reported to be hard to find, majority reported have been smaller. Lake Charm is fishing well with good bags of Yellowbelly being angled. Most reports here have been received on lures during the warmer days, mainly between the afternoon and evening. The Gunbower Creek is fairly quiet at present with the odd Yellowbelly being taken. The creek level is good at present, so it may be a reasonable spot to try on Cod opening. The Campaspe River is fishing fairly slow at present with just a few Yellas being angled, mainly on lures and spinnerbaits. As a side note Barambah lures are currently on a 20% off special until Christmas, so call in and check them out. Happy fishing and tight lines!
