12.01.2022 Bayside Section 1 Summer Pennant Grand Final will be contested tomorrow Saturday 14th March between the two top teams, Hartwell and BLTC. Final will be played at the Black Rock Bowling and Tennis Club from 1pm.

11.01.2022 Hello Hartwell Tennis Members, Special offer extended till early December!!! $50 COACHING DISCOUNT - for you OR a friend This means you and your friend get a 1/2 hour shared lesson for FREE. OR your friend gets a 1/2 hour on their own FREE. Sign up a friend to receive this great offer.... Hartwell Tennis Club aims to encourage members’ friends, colleagues and neighbours to ‘have a go’ at tennis and try their hand at having a hit, or, if they already play, to find out how they might improve their game. We are delighted to offer a coaching discount for members and their invited guests, or to a guest who is referred by a member. Our enthusiastic professional coach, Stefan Woolley is keen to assist us in this initiative. Go to powatennis.com.au to check out coaching fees and what Stefan has to offer. The first ten people to register for themselves and their guest, will receive a discount of $50 towards a coaching session with Hartwell’s Stefan Woolley. That is, the member and guest combined receive the $50 discount, not each. Alternatively, a member can refer a guest to receive the $50 discount. A member who has Family membership is entitled to one discount voucher for him/her self and guest. The offer is not available to a member’s guest or guests who are currently regular members of Stefan’s squad or social play. Tempted by this special offer??? Members need to register themselves and their guest with Gai Woolhouse, Club Secretary, by emailing their name, and phone to [email protected] subject heading ‘discount coaching’. Or send a message to Gai on 0412 724 698. A member referring a guest, but not taking the offer for themselves, still require to register on behalf of their friend. Guests will be required to provide personal details to enable registration with Tennis Victoria for insurance purposes. Participants will be referred to coach Stefan Woolley to arrange a time for their coaching session. Act now! Find a friend to join you! This offer will remain open until early December, 2019 or until fully subscribed. Further information contact us by email at: [email protected] or phone Gai: 0412 724 698 Our thanks to the City of Boroondara for their support for Hartwell Tennis Club

10.01.2022 TENNIS IN METRO MELBOURNE IS SAFER THAN OUR CURRENT EXERCISE ALLOWED IN PARK AND PLAYGROUNDS! SHARE! Anyone work for or friendly with any lines of communication... of local sport in Vic government? Please share or put me in contact to have a chat! Last lockdown, tennis private lessons aligned their opening with standard personal training. This would now be the Monday, 28th Sept 2020 on the Vic roadmap. We would like to plead this to be the case once again. A fair compromise rather than the whole sport and all courts opening would be allowing tennis coaching (personal training) with the official coach in 1:1 and or 1:2 private lessons. This would stimulate another safe industry for the economy’s rebuild. Every safe service reopening is of circular benefit. I just wish the relative stats were considered in regards to tennis being safer than going for a jog.. better yet it is safer than playgrounds which have already reopened. Please share and advocate for tennis to restart safely. https://www.texmed.org/TexasMedicineDetail.aspx?id=53977

09.01.2022 Lots of developments down at Hartwell. Weeds killed, stringing board, new windbreakers, net straps on all courts, court maintenance, new racquets and a court covered in hail!!

08.01.2022 Hartwell Men’s Section 1 team will play their SF against Beaumaris SATURDAY 29th Feb at home. The AGM will also be held in the club house from 12.30pm.

07.01.2022 Hartwell Tennis Club returns to competition for the first time in 13 years today at 1pm. A lot of work has been put into this beautiful club to make this happen. Not just any old competition too, Hartwell will be competing in the top Section 1 in Men’s Singles/Doubles in Bayside Summer Pennant. Hartwell is competing against the likes of Grace Park, Dendy Park, Beaumaris Lawn, Mt Eliza, Melbourne Park and Carmelite. Come down today at 1pm to see some top tennis. Hartwell Tennis Club, 1082 Toorak Road, Camberwell 3124.

07.01.2022 AT HOME TENNIS EXERCISES - MED BALL RUNS. Tough one working upper and lower at once. The beach was like quicksand... sinking more and more after each run. Grab ...a heavy med ball, set out increasing distances, plyometrics throw out the med ball as far as you can each time, RUN after it, repeat until get to the end. Short one was baseline to net 12m, then the killer was about triple that! See more

06.01.2022 Last squad from Term 2 today at POWA Sundays. Snuck in before the rain. New antenna installed, TV working - still some scratchy signal though - maybe cables too long or too many connectors. Term 3 starts next weekend 13/14 July. @ POWA Tennis

06.01.2022 The Hartwell Racquet Depository is growing. The place where all good racquets go to rest. Don’t simply throw your old or broken racquet into land fill! We shall cherish these on display for their hard fought service, regardless of how hard they fell

05.01.2022 Looking for tennis motivation in Melbourne Stage 4 lockdown? Follow POWA Tennis to see what our best players are doing to make the most of their daily exercise.... ISO BEACH GET-UP SPRINTS Love this one from POWA Performance players Tom and Asi pushing eachother in their allowed daily exercise with one other person for one hour. These get-up sprints add in a level of strength complexity and you need to be balanced on the sand to then take off. Soft surfaces are best for pounding exercises like sprints and running as you have to utilise more leg strength and take the weight off the lower back. Get your exercise partner and follow these drills, push eachother and you’ll get the most out of your daily exercise See more
