22.01.2022 As we start Term 4, a focus for many of our kindergarten children families includes preparation for the transition to school. Things you can do to give your child confidence about starting school: Show your child how they will get to school each day and where they will be collected; Practice getting ready for school, dressing, packing the lunch, bag, sunhat etc;... Make sure your child can manage things such as taking off jumpers, zipping up clothes etc; Purchase shoes with Velcro fasteners until your child can manage laces; Check that your child can open their lunch box and drink bottle and know how to ask for help if they can't; Make sure your child can go to the toilet independently, or talk with the teacher about how to manage toilet concerns Label all belongings - including shoes! 21.01.2022 Recently after school care group have been working cooperatively on projects. They were shown artwork by a variety of artists and then provided with a large canvas. Over 3 weeks, the children worked together to create this artwork using water paint wash, sponge dabbing, drawing, collage, and painting. We are very proud of the efforts of the children. The canvas is hanging up in the Kindy, be sure to check it out and read the full details of how they worked together to create it.

11.01.2022 Over the past week we have celebrated National Reconciliation Week, reflecting on the culture and heritage of the indigenous people of Australia. Some of our experiences have included dot painting, looking at sand symbols, investigating indigenous artefacts, discussing the significance of ochre in artworks, identifying the aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, exploring the sound of the didgeridoo, discussing famous indigenous Australians, enjoying indigenous music and reading stories from the Dreamtime.

09.01.2022 HENNY PENNY Our classes have been full of chatter this week with the arrival of the Henny Penny Hatching Program! Watching the little chicks hatch from their eggs to soon scurrying around in their pen - the kids have been captivated. Plus not to mention the excitement of a few little fluffy chick cuddles!

09.01.2022 Have you noticed our new soft plastics recycling bins at the kindy entrance? We want to encourage our community to be as sustainable as possible, so we encourage you to bring your soft plastics and drop them in the bins at drop off / pick up and we will take care of it for you! Easy as. The initiative is part of our increased focus on sustainability and efforts to encourage the children to reduce their impact on the environment. The program is run by Red Group, which recovers and recycles over 3 million pieces of soft plastic (bags and packaging) every week! Please take note of the images attached for guidance on what soft plastics can be recycled in the bin. Any questions, please leave us a comment below. Thanks in advance for your support.

05.01.2022 Well it was a busy weekend for Director Suzy Hartley and some parent volunteers who brought the muscle and cleaned / tidied / unpacked / re-set our lovely downstairs play area. The room can finally be revealed after storm rectification works were completed during term 2. Its open and ready for the kids to explore tomorrow! Also from tomorrow, drop off and pick up will resume as per normal processes (i.e, parents can enter through the front gate and sign in your child/ren at... your units sign in table). Please be mindful that social distancing rules still apply and as always, hand sanitizer is available for use. We ask if you can, please dont bring additional children or siblings to drop off / pick up and if you or your child are unwell, please dont attend Kindy. Thank you. We hope you have all had a lovely break. Welcome back to Term 3!

03.01.2022 Thank you to all the parents that attended the AGM last night. It's great to welcome you to our Kindy and we hope you learned a lot in preparation for your child attending next year. Just a reminder, we still need to fill two of the Management Committee positions: Secretary and HR/Staff Liason Officer. 02.01.2022 This week at kindy we have been discussing the significance of Anzac Day. Because there will be no official services this year due to social distancing regulations, we have been chatting about some ways in which we can still pay our respects to the brave men and women who have served our country. Some children have shared that their families will be stepping out on to their driveways, or front verandas at 6am on Saturday to mark the occasion. We have also read stories about some Australian traditions, like making Anzac biscuits! Something all the children were very keen to learn more about...
