25.01.2022 This week is diabetes week. Type 2 diabetes is a serious condition that needs to be managed through diet and lifestyle changes, and the sooner it is diagnosed the better! The good news is that type 2 diabetes is reversible if diagnosed early enough. Some warning signs are increased thirst and urination and slow healing wound eg insect bites that take ages to heal. To check if you have T2 diabetes a simple blood test is all you need to do. Get checked now!!

20.01.2022 It's Easter again & chocolate is calling! Try not to over-indulge and go for dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is healthier because it contains more cacao content and less sugar. Look for chocolate with a higher proportion of cacao. If your chocolate is 70%, it means that 70% is cacao or cocoa solids or a combo & the remaining 30% is fillers, ie mostly sugar! Have a happy & safe Easter!

Getting a good nights sleep is so important for your health its the time when our bodies repair themselves, when our brains file away memories and process information and when we refresh our energy levels. Sometimes a good nights sleep can be totally elusive. If you are having trouble sleeping, try these tips........ 1. No caffeine after lunch - caffeine can affect sleep for up to 12 hours. 2. Meditate before bed - just 10 minutes will help calm a busy mind. 3. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. 4. Switch off screens 1 hour before bed that means backlit readers, TVs, computers, tablets and mobile phones. 5. Exercise during the day - make sure you finish at least 3 hours before bed.
