25.01.2022 Do you ever worry that your pre-schooler isn't talking as much as some of the other kids in their kindy class? A friend of mine Bonnie Bonny Marsh (speech pathologist with 24 years experience) is running a free training session tomorrow night (by signing up you can watch the replay) that will help you feel more confident about your child's speech and how to support them on this awesome journey of learning to communicate! It is rare that I post about other people's stuff, but... this one will be SO GOOD I just didn't want you to miss out. As a mum of three boys who were super slow to "talk".....we didn't get much more than dad, dog and poo for a few years there I know how helpful this FREE training will be. Follow the link to register. Warmly, Fleur https://smallconnections.pages.ontraport.net/webinar-july

25.01.2022 3 steps to greater happiness 1) Assess your habits - what's working for you and what's not. 2) Stop complaining about how little time you have,... 3) Make more time by ditching the habits that take you away from the life you want, 4) Spend this new found time creating habits that actually move you closer to who you want to be, deep down inside. Ultimately, the choice is yours. So what will it be, procrastination or action? @heyamberrae

25.01.2022 As a mindfulness and meditation teacher and mum I always laugh at these images that come up in searches for "mindfulness". Can you imagine what would happen if us mums tried to sit by a pool with a pen and paper and some fresh fruit, ready to write down our creative thoughts, dreams and desires whilst casually eating an orange. I have 3 boy and I know one thing for sure - they would be using the oranges as "pool toys" and my notepad would be wet along with my creative ideas ...and dreams. That's why I have developed my 4 week mindfulness for mums course will busy mums in mind. There is no requirement to find these perfectly manicured moments of calm in your day. I set you up to succeed by teaching a type of mindfulness that you can do anywhere, anytime. I'm talking in the shower, in the car, on the toilet if you like. It's powerful. It allows you to feel less distracted and overwhelmed and more accepting of anything (and everything) that comes your way. It's actually better than sitting by a pool journalling as it's practical and real, just like you. Laughter, tears, questions, challenges, tantrums and joy.....let me help you respond to all of these parenting situations with a relaxed body, a clear mind and an open heart. My next course begins Thursday 14th August, 7.00pm at Madam Heap. Are you ready to interact with your life in new and exciting ways? 25.01.2022 When my inner world is busy, when I am filled with "should do" and "why didn't I do" stories and judgements I close my eyes and imagine a horizon as far as I can see. I sit with the sense of expansiveness, I breathe it in. Amazingly, you actually can breath in a sense of space. Immediately my head feels less busy and my body more relaxed. ... Give it a try.....it works! See more

23.01.2022 For those of you wanting more from life, but not sure that eyes closed seated meditation is for you.......let the world be your meditation class. Notice your natural environment, really listen to those you love, taste your morning coffee, notice your emotions, what triggers you into anger or guilt. Be curious about what qualities you love in others and what drives you crazy. The world is ready to teach you. ... Are you brave enough to listen? See more

23.01.2022 This is me in India when I was 9 years old. I often wonder what life these children would have led and what they would be doing now, 32 years later. It's safe to say that none of these beautiful kids would have had access to the same education, health services, physical comfort and travel opportunities that I have, simply because of where they were born.... Nothing to do with skills, abilities, determination or drive, a life determined by their place of birth. Take a moment now to pause and think about the opportunities you have been given, simply by where you were born. Write and let me know. I would love to hear!

23.01.2022 Ready to like yourself and your life more, so you can really enjoy it. Click here to book your place at my next Mindfulness for Mums course commencing 14th August https://www.facebook.com/events/1068220016715989/

22.01.2022 It's funny, us mums all want a bit of time to ourselves, but are also left feeling guilty about it. It is OK to want something more than just your kids, it's OK to need a break every now and then. It's OK to be interested in learning about yourself as a woman and a mother. ... In fact, it will be the gift that keeps on giving as you notice yourself becoming more patient, generous, funny and kind. Come and join me and a small group of women relax and learn to like themselves and their lives more. Details here https://www.facebook.com/events/1068220016715989/

22.01.2022 Do you believe that there is actually room for all of us? That there is room for us all to succeed, for us all to find love, be inspired, enjoy happiness? Or is there a belief hidden deep down inside that if someone else succeeds, that this in some way detracts from your chances at happiness?... Write "yes" if you are brave enough today to believe that "there is room for all of us" just like this pretty little badge says. @martinamartin

20.01.2022 Does your happiness depend on the happiness of your children? Learn how to feel calm, centered and happy even when your kids aren't! at my next Mindfulness for Mums course commening 14th August Madam Heap For more info about this course or to click here https://www.madamheap.com.au//mindfulness-for-mothers-ab5gm

19.01.2022 There is no right or wrong way to be meditate. Anything from "I was bored" to "that was totally life changing" is in the spectrum of normal! Some people see rainbows, others big balls of slime, anything goes in meditation I say.... And yes, it's perfectly ok to think whilst meditating, it doesn't mean you are doing it wrong.

19.01.2022 How much time do you spend feeling bad for overreacting to something or someone? Do you feel guilty, annoyed with yourself or maybe even ashamed when you lose your cool and say something that really wasn't a great representation of you you are, or want to be. Next time you are about to say or do something that feels "reactive" pause and take 3 deep breaths, making sure that the exhale is long. Immediately this sends a message to your mind and body that you are safe t...o give up the fight, to take off your armour and instead, you can lead with greater understanding, maybe even perspective, humour or love. And the best bit, you will have hours of spare time as you won't be left feeling consumed by regret or guilt. The only question is, what will you do with all this extra time. I'm hoping you will put your feet up and enjoy a rest. And all it took was a few breaths. Too easy. See more

19.01.2022 Busyness blocks creativity. Yep, it's true. When we slow down a little we naturally become more creative. I don't mean when we take a few deep breaths we will suddenly find ourselves on a pottery wheel or in an art glass for adults.... I am talking about the creativity that allows you to solve problems, to think outside the box, to see your life with fresh eyes. Creativity is you when you are in the moment, responding to your life with a relaxed body, a clear head and an open heart. Choose creativity today.

19.01.2022 Creativity is so much more than producing art. We can be creative in how we solve problems, in how we bounce back from life's challenges. We can be creative when cooking, when comforting our kids, when dealing with a delayed train or the fact that we have run out of milk.... Mindfulness helps us tap into our everyday opportunities for creativity. This allows us to feel less stuck and more free. Tell me, what is the most mundane task that you could bring a sense of creativity to this week? Write and let me know.

17.01.2022 One less known side effect of stress and overwhelm is a narrowed perspective. When we are stressed we have blinkers on. We see life only through our own eyes, and find it difficult to see things from other people's perspectives. This can have negative effects on friendships and relationships with our families.... Most of the time, people aren't doing things on purpose to annoy or hurt you. Not everything is about you. But when you are stressed you think everything is about you! It's natural. So, are you stressed?

17.01.2022 "Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart" My kids were kind enough to give me 8 years of matching PJs. Every time they wore them my heart nearly burst.... What small moments fill your heart? Write and let me know. Fleur xx

15.01.2022 "The most alluring thing a woman can have is confidence" Beyonce Rise up. Stand up. Dare to be seen in what ever way feels good for you.

14.01.2022 Where most people get stuck is in thinking that they are unique in their thoughts of judgement, self-criticism, insecurity and blame. The truth is, regardless of our age, gender or life circumstance, we all have thoughts that limit us. We all have thoughts that make us feel unsure of ourselves, that close us off to others, that mean we shy away from opportunities and experiences. This is just a natural part of being human. Your boss at work, the parent who looks like th...ey have it all together, your colleague who appears so confident and assured, that relative whose life looks more calm or successful than yours, the friend who is always positive and upbeat, they all have limiting thoughts. Happy, fulfilled and purposeful people just know how to press stop on these broken records and change the song. See more

14.01.2022 Mother's guilt just gets in the way of being the best mum we can be. It does not help. Learn how to let go of mother's guilt at my next Mindfulness for Mums course so you can feel better about yourself, and your life. (commencing 14th August). click here for all the details https://www.facebook.com/events/1068220016715989/

13.01.2022 My son told me the other day that this was his favourite day ever. I decided, quite spontaneously, to dress up with him for book week. I did the parade and everything, the only mum in costume. I don't bake cakes or make fancy costumes, I don't throw crazy parties, I forget casual clothes day and the school forms are always late, but I do have fun with my kids, we laugh all the time. We as mothers, and as people, don't need to be everything to everyone, we don't need to do all the things, we just need to do what comes naturally to us with a wholehearted presence. What part of you comes naturally and how can you share it with those you love in a way that feels easy for you?

12.01.2022 Mindfulness is really quite simple. It's remembering to do it that's the hard part. Having a mindful reminder is a simple way to remember to be mindful. A mindful reminder is something in your life that you regularly see or something in your daily routine that you regularly do that will remind you to be mindful. So why not choose yours right now?... Write and let me know what mindful reminder you use in your daily life. For me, it's an amazing tree outside the front of my house. When my kids are taking ages leaving the house before school, (grrrrrr) instead of getting impatient (AKA angry) as I wait at the car for them, I pause, take a few deep breaths and admire the tree.

12.01.2022 I get it. You are a Melbourne Mum who loves her kids but also secretly yearns for more space. Space to think, space to breathe, space to just "be" someone or something else, even if just for a moment. The only problem is, this makes you feel guilty and you just can't find the time.... One thing I know for sure is that you are not a bad mother for wanting something more than just your kids, for wanting some space to find yourself again. Let me show you how you can take care of yourself and enjoy your kids more, all without any extra hours in the day. It's easier than you think. It's more fun than you think. My next 4 week Mindfulness for Mums Course is commencing 7pm Wednesday 14th August and there are 6 places left. This course will transform your life, the way you interact with your kids and yourself. Less distraction, overwhelm and guilt, more joy, laughter and ease. Sounds good doesn't it? Because when you take care of yourself, you have the energy to be a better mum. It's simple. It's true. Click on the link and change your life. You deserve it. https://www.facebook.com/events/1068220016715989/

12.01.2022 Your mind is like a garden. A healthy mind leads to a healthy life. Enjoy this short practice to pull the weeds of self criticism and plant the seeds of self compassion.

11.01.2022 You don't need to be mindful all day everyday in order to feel calm and happy. 3 - 5 short mindful moments per day is enough to move your happiness dial, enough for you to experience a shift away from stress, overwhelm and distraction towards peace, contentment and happiness. Trust me, I know from personal experience and from supporting 1,000s of people around the world. And even better, these mindful moments don't need to be anything special, spiritual or on a yoga matt.... 5 of my favourite mindful moment ideas are 1) 5 deep breaths at the traffic lights or in the supermarket queue 2) Drinking your morning coffee without looking at your phone, wiping the bench or planning your day 3) Really listening to someone who is talking to you without planning your response or making judgements (mmmmmm) 4) A moment of forgiveness for yourself, family or a friend 5) A moment of gratitude for someone in your life Your own happiness......moment by moment........you've got this!

07.01.2022 This stack of paper is my latest 30 day course "Morning meditations for focus and intention". It's an invitation to be brave, to take charge of your focus, to stop letting social media, advertising and other people dictate who you are or what you can achieve. It's an invitation to break free from distraction and overwhelm and to live each day with purpose and intention. What is one thing you would do differently each day if you let go of what other people thought of you and if you truly just "went for it?"

07.01.2022 Are you looking for a sense of confidence and self-worth in all the wrong places? Are you always trying to get that extra thing done, to make that other person proud of you? If so, you are looking in all the wrong places.... Confidence and self worth is an inside job. It doesn't come from achieving that next thing or receiving that next piece of praise. Confidence lives deep within you. You just have to allow yourself a moment of silence to shine.

07.01.2022 Why is it so hard to "be totally ourselves" with those we love but so easy with our pets? I think it's because we know that our pets will love us whatever we say, do, think or achieve. Answer "yes" below if you find it easier to be yourself around your pet than humans?

04.01.2022 I'm always looking for images that represent human connection. They are actually pretty hard to find. This image to me has it all. These two people look physically relaxed, they have their shoes off, they are out in nature and I can't see any mobile phones.... Tell me, what conditions make connection easiest for you? In what situations do you find it easiest to really connect? Write and let me know, even if it's just a few words.

01.01.2022 Our thoughts shape our beliefs. Our beliefs shape our actions. Our actions shape our lives.... Every now and then it pays to pause, and check in with our thoughts. You may like to ask yourself 1) Are these thoughts taking me into the past or the future? 2) How would I describe these thoughts (regrets, planning, worrying, hoping, wishing) 3) Do these thoughts help me be the person I want to be? 4) Do these thoughts move me away from, or towards, what is important to me? Successful, happy and fulfilled people interact with their thoughts like this everyday. So what are you waiting for?

01.01.2022 Stop scrolling and ask yourself this super important question! Do you think there is enough to go around? (enough happiness, success, fun, achievement) Or do you think that if someone else has something, or is something then there may not be enough to go around?... If you have a "scarcity" mindset you will always be unhappy. If you have a "there is enough for all of us" mindset you will be happy. It's really quite simple. So which mindset do you choose? Write and let me know.
