25.01.2022 Rolling paddocks with Dial Range backdrops. Not bad views for Monday in Tasmania!

25.01.2022 Growing tall and green (the way we like it of course! )

24.01.2022 Meanwhile, across Bass Strait, our team is working on the first cut of celery out of Werribee to export to our customers in Singapore!

23.01.2022 Harvest Moon People Profiles: meet Murray! (AKA Muz, Muzza, local delivery legend.) Murray has been driving trucks for 28 years (!!) and is quite possibly the most positive person you will meet. Through a family history of driving trucks full of Harvest Moon produce (his dad before him), Murray has a job that he truly loves and you can see that when you talk to him. You can find Murray on the North-West Tassie produce delivery route, bringing veggies to all of our local shops and supermarkets. Next time you see Muzza on the highway, give him a wave.. A big thanks to Murray for his positivity and passion for his work! @ Forth, Tasmania

23.01.2022 A low traffic day on the farm road made for an especially nice photo opportunity. We love these dirt roads!

21.01.2022 Without a doubt, one of our favourite seasonal scenes has to be the spinach harvest. From all angles it's a pretty neat process... and just ask Marina - it's fun to drive, too!

21.01.2022 ...Just admiring all our veggies in a row!

19.01.2022 Gearing up for more onions! Drilling onions in Latrobe last week.

18.01.2022 A little peak into some ground works! Getting ready for next seasons planting in this photo you can see the Cat ripping the ground and the tractor breaking up the dirt into smaller pieces for finer soil for seeding.

18.01.2022 New on the farm: Machinery wash! This helps to stop the spread of weeds and soil born diseases between farms and paddocks.

18.01.2022 Just a few little mates next to some bigger mates in a thriving Lillico cabbage paddock.

18.01.2022 It's National Agriculture Day! Friday, November 20 is a day to celebrate the everyday extraordinary efforts of our farmers and all that is good about Australian agriculture. We are grateful to be involved in such a diverse and prosperous industry in Australia, and we truly value each and every one of the people we work with in our agriculture activities day-to-day. There's so many great farming operations all around our country and it's says like to today that unite and encourage us.

17.01.2022 Just another peaceful morning farm scene (from earlier this year).

17.01.2022 Harvest Moon people profiles: our Kiribati workers and Steve kainy Kaine! This amazing, hard-working crew are here from Kiribati, an island in the Central Pacific. A special working holiday agreement between Kiribati and Australia lets these guys work for us for a good chunk of the year. (Lucky us!) This swede harvest crew makes harvesting especially fun because theres singing involved... (see next post)

17.01.2022 Chocolate dirt, contrasting cabbages and rolling paddocks... just a few of our every day farm scenes!

17.01.2022 ...There's always something happening at the onion shed!

16.01.2022 Red dirt paddock roads on a Monday; a peaceful every day north coast view.

16.01.2022 Just a few bins in a pretty spot, waiting for veggie fill up...

15.01.2022 Our fertile red dirt, patiently awaiting its next veggie. A paddock perfectly placed in front of one of our regions most recognisable mountains, Mount Roland.

15.01.2022 A side-by-side look at the mulched and un-mulched! Mulching leftover broccoli plant post-harvest helps to speed up decomposition, breaking it down into smaller particles. These smaller particles are easier to incorporate and put nutrients back in into the soil.

14.01.2022 Thanks Good Fruit and Vegetables for the little write up into a bit of Harvest Moon history!

14.01.2022 Just another beetroot harvest on Tassies beautiful north coast...

14.01.2022 Harvest Moon people profiles: Karen, AKA Chopper ...who intended on doing one year with us, but stayed for 23! Our broccoli room would be lost without you, Karen. @ Forth, Tasmania

14.01.2022 Looking good, onions!

13.01.2022 The daily ag commute! Not so bad, especially when you get to cruise around these parts of Tassie.

13.01.2022 Mechanical weeding! This inter row cultivator is moving swiftly through a paddock of caulis at the perfect stage of growth to preventively remove weeds. Its a pretty fascinating piece of equipment to watch, and it does a fantastic job. We use it for weeding with cauli, broc and cabbage.

13.01.2022 Harvest Moon People Profiles: Werribee Edition! This is Ketut Warita. Ketut is the Quality Controller at our Werribee operation. Hes been with the team at Werribee for over 15 years and has been a big part of the quality control improvements there. Hes incredibly hard working and such a valuable member of the team. Thanks for your service, Ketut!

12.01.2022 Beetroot: a fan favourite for cooking, salads, juice and more! Lucky for us... weve got loads of it. (Literally )

12.01.2022 Bins on bins on bins (on bins). And this is just the start of it! These one tonne bins carry all of our precious cargo.

12.01.2022 (More than) a few good-looking red onions coming up in a spring paddock!

11.01.2022 A beautiful day to show some wonderful guests around! The lucky winners of @samsonsfruitandvegetablesupply’s Taste of Tasmania contest, Frank from @joesfruitworld and Alex from @wholefarms, as well as Mark and Kathryn from Samons, visited the carrot harvest out at Forest. It’s been great having them tour our Tassie operation!

11.01.2022 That contrasting red and green though... Winter paddocks going strong!

10.01.2022 How do you broc? Broccoli has so many health benefits; a source of fibre and protein, iron, potassium, calcium, selenium, magnesium and much more. Its such a versatile veg that can be used so many ways! Lately, weve been loving it steamed with some pink salt, pepper and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

09.01.2022 I spy... something poking up through the soil.

09.01.2022 Itty bitty cabbages (...but not for long!)

08.01.2022 Not our usual veggie scene, but still very important! As you drive around the paddocks, you may notice things other than veg growing tall and green. Cover crops (like this one) are very important to the soil health. Over time, a cover crop regimen increases soil organic matter, leading to improvements in soil structure, stability, and increased moisture and nutrient holding capacity for plant growth.

08.01.2022 Harvest Moon People Profiles (Werribee edition!): meet Moo! Moo is a lead hand at our operation in Werribee, Victoria where he started in 2013. When he first arrived, he could not speak or write English at all. But slowly through workmates and friends he learned to communicate really well. At work, Moo wanted to learn how to drive the forklift - and through the support of his manager and team now hes got his license! Youve got great drive, Moo!

06.01.2022 The iconic Forth tree, surrounded by a paddock of Harvest Moon broccoli. As seen from across the valley at Braddons Lookout.

05.01.2022 Remember being a kid, zooming around with little trucks and tractors on the floor? In agriculture its much the same, just the the trucks and tractors we get to play with are much bigger now.

04.01.2022 Our little sibling, Snackables off to a splendid start in a north coast paddock, peeking out over to the ocean.

04.01.2022 A tassie @snackablesofficial harvest! You can find our tasty snacking carrots at a range of stockists throughout Australia (@woolworths_au, @hillstreetgrocer @harrisfarmmarkets) as we pick up steam. You’ll notice a slightly different package in @woolworths_au but it’s all the same goods inside!

03.01.2022 Are you coming to celebrate all things carrot (and veggie!) at next week’s carrot festival? 02.01.2022 Next stop: the barbecue! Were big believers that the BBQ season is all year long, and that some of the best things to cook up are Harvest Moon veggies! Just add a pinch of salt and pepper, some oil or butter and maybe a spoonful of fresh herbs.

01.01.2022 Harvest Moon people profiles (continued from last post): our Kiribati workers in the swede paddock singing - some of the best vocals weve ever heard!

01.01.2022 Same veggie, different colour! Purple and green cabbage create such a colourful contrast in the paddock.

01.01.2022 The best kind of grocery haul is one with an array of (Harvest Moon) veggies. Whats on your list this week?

01.01.2022 Sometimes you catch yourself driving around finding the most seemingly ordinary things beautiful. (Well call that "farm art")

01.01.2022 A little bit of mulch for your Monday... (actually, thats a lot of mulch!) Just another day in the life of ag activities.
