25.01.2022 Two happy puppers enjoying a relaxing Wednesday night on the couch!

25.01.2022 This week Harvey had his first ever visit to the physio! Was lovely to meet Brooke at Holistic Animal Physiotherapy who took really good care of Harvey and taught me lots of information about Harveys wellbeing I took Harvey to have a full body check over and assessment to make sure that he was growing as should be expected, that all of his joints and muscles were healthy and working properly and so I could learn more about physical health in dogs Happy to report Harvey ...is a very healthy boy, just working on building up his back leg muscles as he is quite front-loaded (Harveys clearly been skipping leg day at the gym! ) Harvey had a go on the underwater treadmill, and took to the new experience like a champ! He also had some accupuncture to help loosen some of his back muscles. I was unsure how he would go, but he was quite relaxed for that as well! #doghealth #animalphysio #proactivecare

22.01.2022 Bit belated because I forgot to make the post - but Happy Easter everyone! Harvey and Lola enjoyed their special 'chocolate' (carob) eggs yesterday! Gone within 30seconds in true retriever style! (video of them inhaling the eggs in comments)

22.01.2022 Happy 1st of December everyone! We are getting excited for Christmas! 10minutes and about 200 blurry photos later, finally got one of Lola sitting still

21.01.2022 Lunch times at the practice are puppy play dates! Here Lola is playing with 15week old Nala, a Labrador puppy also in training to be a therapy dog. You can follow Nalas journey on her page The Life of Nala - loads of awesome tips and information about raising and training a puppy Lola and Nala are pretty good friends, but we always supervise our dogs play. You can see even as puppies as soon as we ask them to stop playing and take a break, they listen. While Lola looked quite content on her back there, it isnt good to allow dogs to stand over each other like that for too long (can lead to dominance behaviours), hence why we interrupted the play

20.01.2022 Yesterday was the day Harvey met his little sister Lola! So far the two of them seem to have bonded really well. Harvey is learning how to play a bit more calmly - its amazing to see how instinctive it is for him to be gentle with her Lola is settling in well, shes a cute as a button! Watch this space for lots of puppy spam! ... I think I may have to rename this page shortly, as well as learning to share his toys and space, Harvey is also going to have to share his social media stardom the joys of having a sibling!

18.01.2022 Harvey giving his famous cuddles Although Harvey is very playful a lot of the time (he celebrates every day like its his birthday ) he does enjoy cuddling up to clients and giving them lots of attention while they do quieter session work and some classic talk-therapy

16.01.2022 So being the cheeky (naughty!) adolescent dog he is, Harvey discovered that running out of the clinic and halfway down the street is a very fun game (My face -> , Harveys face -> ) Thank goodness one of our teenage clients turned into The Flash today and ran and got him ... This came as a timely reminder that I may need to work on boundary training with Harvey. In the video I am teaching Harvey that just because the door is open, doesnt give him an invitation to walk out. I think Im going to have to be on Harvey lookout a bit more in the clinic as people come in and out of the door to make sure he isnt given the opportunity to run out again. Probably also need to work on his recall so if he does do it again, at least hell come back Thanks for keeping me on my toes Harvey

Lola has settled into our lives more perfectly than I could have imagined Lola does an unexpected somersault in the video which is hilarious , and although theres a few sharp looking teeth, rest assured they are both doing appropriate gentle green zone play

03.01.2022 Lola and Harvey have been smashing it at work together! Well Harveys been doing most of the working, and Lolas been sleeping and playing but they are both doing really well Just like when Harvey was a baby, Lolas only job at the moment is for me to socalise her to as many things as possible in a safe and positive way for her. On the weekend we visited Aunty Sams Farm, and Lola met chickens , horses , a cat lots of dogs, and stared to learn how to swim She had a blast! Harvey came with us of course, and had a swim too, and he always enjoys having a big run around in the huge backyard
