23.01.2022 Hi all 3RPP recently replayed the 1992 Grand Final, while it was good to watch the quality was not that good, I have uploaded another, copy for people to watch if they wish, I’m in the process of uploading the 1995 Seniors GF 1991 Reserves GF Hoping to get a copy of our only under 18 Premiership in 1982 to upload... And also the 2016 Seniors GF They are the only Premiership wins that we have on video, but hopefully we can get them all uploaded soon Cheers https://youtu.be/CwzDkMrwAxc

21.01.2022 1992 Saw a few changes at Hastings, at the end of the 1991 season Senior coach Jim Odea stepped down believing he had taken the Club as far as he could and suggested we look for a playing coach, a lot easier said than done, even though Hastings had been finalists for the last few seasons, no one would apply for the job, Hastings approached the best midfielders running around in the MPNFL with all of them saying no, the closest we got was interviewing Dale Carpenter who was in... the top 3 centerman in the comp, he suggested that a Carpenter playing at Hastings would see him disowned by his family, but he did say that he felt he was knocking back the chance to be a Premiership Coach, so by February Hastings was still without a coach, then fate came a knocking, Reserves coach Bill Morris got a call from one of his mates from Springvale asking if Hastings still needed a Coach and that Pat Foy had just come back from QLD and was interested in Coaching , needless to say an interview was organised and Pat was pretty much appointed on the spot, and 28 years later Pat is still involved at Hastings, what a great he has been for Hastings! - [x] Hastings finished the home and away season 2nd on the ladder percentage behind Pearcedale, the pressure was all on Hastings in the 2nd semi, as Hastings had gone out of the finals in straight sets the previous two seasons, and the Senior side had not won a final since the Preliminary final of 1979, things didn’t go well early in that final as Hastings Ruckman Darryl Lucas was reported and sent of for the rest of the game which meant Hastings had to play with 17 men for 2and 1/2quarters, Hastings prevailed , then Rosebud took care of Pearcedale in the Prelim, so the scene was set, Hastings v Rosebud, both sides had one win eachagainst each other , a win to Hastings would set them up for more success a few years later https://youtu.be/CwzDkMrwAxc

16.01.2022 With no local football for 2020 we thought it would be a good time to trip down memory lane 2020 sees Hastings FNC celebrating the 110 anniversary of their 1910... Premiership. Football on the Peninsula had been going for around 25 years, but as a properly administered competition the Peninsula Football league had only been going since 1908. The 1910 season saw 8 teams take the field, two time Champions Hastings, as well as Mornington, Somerville, Balnarring , Tyabb, Dromana, Sorrento , and Frankston who had rejoined the league after their expulsion from the competition in 1909 After a 14 Round season the top 4 was Hastings. 48 Frankston. 44 Mornington. 34 Balnarring. 32 So the finals were set, in those days there were just two semi finals with the two winners meeting in the Grand Final, however if the team that finished on top lost their final, they had a right to challenge whoever won the Grand Final, this rule was in place in all competitions including the then VFL until around 1929-30 In the first final played at Somerville, Frankston took on Mornington, with Frankston running out comfortable winners 8-6-54 to 4-6-30, which saw them progress to their 2nd Grand Final in 3 seasons In the 2nd semi final played at Mornington Hastings took on Balnarring, and in a lot closer contest Balnarring led at 1/4 time and 1/2 time before Hastings rallied in the 2nd half and won by 13 points, 7-11-53 to 6-4-40, and saw Hastings into their 3rd GrandFinal in a row. So the scene was set, Frankston and Hastings were to play in the decider of 1910, there all ready was a fierce rivalry between the two oldest teams in the competition, that had started in the late 1880,s and after the 1908 season where Frankston didn’t turn up to play in the Grand Final which led to their suspension from the 1909 season, there definitely was no love lost between them, Hastings saw themselves as the team from the tiny village made up of fisherman and orchardists taking on Frankston which was by far the biggest town on the Peninsula, a real David versus Goliath contest. The Grand Final was to be played at Somerville, both sides had beaten each other during the season the first time Hastings 6-14-50 beat Frankston 6-1-37, the next time Frankston 6-10-46 beat Hastings 3-11-29, which was Hastings only loss for the season. Unfortunately the weather was unkind for the biggest day of the season, the rain started early in the morning and did not let up until the game was well and truly over there also was a very strong breeze and the ground was described as a quagmire , so not ideal conditions Frankston made the best of the conditions while the ball was reasonably dry, and with the aid of the strong breeze, and at 1/4 time led Frankston 2-0-12 Hastings 0-1-1 The Second term saw Hastings get going and adapt to the conditions, they continually attacked the goals but were wasteful with their opportunity’s , and they went into the 1/2 time break with a small advantage Hastings. 2-5-17 Frankston 2-1-13 The game had just become a mud wrestling contest, scoring was basically non existent and by 3/4 time the game was all square Hastings 2-7-19 Frankston 3-1-19 The last term saw Frankston starting to tire, with Hastings continually attacking and putting the Frankston defence under pressure, Frankston were putting up a great defence , and Hastings with all their good play could not score, eventually Hastings hit the lead by a point, and ran out winners in a very tough day for football Final scores Hastings. 2-10- 22 Frankston 3-1-19 It was Hastings 3rd Premiership in a row, and showed that Hastings had been the dominant team for that season and the previous two seasons Hastings and Frankston would go on and play against each other in 6 more Grand Finals with the most recent in 2016 The players in the photo L-R John Jack,Tom Kearns,Frank Robertson,Albert Whitehead Nick Amendola,Gaetano Mirrabella Middle, Owen Bryant, Dobbin Reid,Hugh Carmichael,Jim Wilson, Bert Francis Harry Kerr, Christie Sposito Front. 15.01.2022 Way back in 1979 the players from the Hastings Football Club (now known as the Hastings Football Netball Club) put on a revue, a series of "comedy" skits at The... Hastings Club. The place was packed. As an introduction to the "entertainment", a video was shown. It "starred" (yes, I know I'm using lots of double quotes here ) Peter Lewis, Gordon McDonald, Ron Gleeson and me. Unfortunately, I don't remember who the umpire was nor who did the filming and editing. The Super 8 video was shown on a reel to reel projector and seemed to go well. It was then shown in reverse, just for fun, and maybe got even more laughs. After having it sitting in a box for years I have finally had the original Super 8 video converted to digital and have also managed to create a reversed version. Both are here for your viewing pleasure. The first video is also on YouTube: https://youtu.be/EnsVyBKskj0 Hastings Then and Now

14.01.2022 We have been able to get our hands on the vision of Hastings FNC only U/18 Premiership in 1982, Fittingly the win came against arch rival Mornington, the commentary was performed by Club Legend Peter Hibbert and Peter ( Pancho) Greenwood, with the highlight coming in the last 1/4 Pancho suggests Mornington we’re done, Hibbers replied Don’t worry about Mornington they won’t give up Pancho replies No Mornington won’t give up, even if they are weak as piss commentary gold... The side was coached by Hastings legend Richard Everest the team Wayne Lewis Captain Pat Tranter Darryl Lions Shane Sparey Steven Wisken John Murphy Gavin Symes Paul Hardingham Damien Lewis Matthew Byrne Darren Bronsema Darren Whitehead Mark Kirkland Mark Martin Mark Jenkins Darren Chapman Steve Marshall Ian Butler Paul McCormack Rodney Bradshaw https://youtu.be/FNobhTRWZTQ

10.01.2022 Welcome to our Grand final weekend, here is our first game 1991 Reserves Grand Final, Hastings v Pearcedale Pearcedale were reigning champions, but Hastings beat them in a hard fought 2semi final that saw Hastings finish the game with only 16 fit players on the ground, Hastings only had 22 eligible players to take on Pearcedale in the Grand Final and some of those players carried injury’s into the final game, it was a cold wet windy day at Kars street as Hastings tried to stop Pearcedale going back to back, while trying to winHastings 3rd Reserves Premiership

09.01.2022 The Grand Final of 1995 was the first one in the new Premier division of the MPNFL, and it was to be contested by two of the biggest Clubs in the Comp Hastings finished 2nd at the end of the home and away rounds with Edi-Asp finishing on top , Hastings overcame a 6 goal deficit to overrun the Dales in the 2nd semi and progress to the Grand Final, Pines who finished 3rd took care of Mornington in the 1st Semi and then knocked Edi-Asp out in straight sets in the Prelim, Hasting...s and Pines had met twice during the season with Hastings being the victors both times,. In this writers opinion the 1995 GF is the best one ever played again just my opinion, in front of a record crowd at Kars street on a hot day in perfect conditions the crowd was treated to a fantastic display of country football, so sit back and enjoy the 1995 GF between Hastings and Pines See more

08.01.2022 Hastings most recent Premiership, what a great day for the Club, it had been 21 years since Hastings last victory in 1995, there had been a few finals series and GrandFinal losses to Mornington and Sorrento in that 21 years, but as a Club Hastings were just hanging out for another Flag, as the most successful Club in the comp it had been a long time between drinks , Hastings finish 4th at the end of the home and away season, and while Hastings had enjoyed good wins during the... season over top of the table Frankston and 2nd placed Rosebud, to win the flag from 4th was going to be hard, plus the first final was against Redhill who had enjoyed a bit of a winning streak against Hastings, including the Elimination final at Rosebud in 2015, as it turned out Hastings were in control all day against the Hillmen, and had a good solid win, next tup Sommerville in the 1st semi, Hastings did not beat Sommie during the season, and in what was a very brutal contest Hastings prevailed quite easily, interestingly the Frankston supporters at that game were openly celebrating, as they felt sommie was their only danger, next up Rosebud in the Prelim, a close tight game all day with Hastings winning by 7 points, so on to GF day, Hastings and Frankston had one win each during the season, for some reason Frankstons attitude towards Hastings certainly lacked a lot of respect with their senior coach saying on radio that the only thing Hastings had going for them was their tackling pressure, and that would not be good enough to beat Frankston, well they certainly found out all about it later that day. https://youtu.be/oOew52X_GK0
