17.01.2022 The Victoria Police and Emergency Services Games are taking place this week. This is the 40th anniversary of the games, which sees emergency service members come together in the spirit of fitness, fun and a healthy degree of competition. Hastings Fire Brigade member James Thomas represented CFA in the trap shooting, skeet shooting and sporting clays shooting. Well done on a fantastic effort James and good luck to everyone else competing this weekend!

12.01.2022 The Fire Danger Period has been lifted across the Mornington Peninsula Shire area. if you are planning on having a burn off there is a few important things you must do before, during and after: Have you checked your council’s local laws in regard to when and where you can burn off? Have you checked the weather?... Do you have a method to extinguish the fire or/and an adequate water supply? Create a 3m clearance of all flammable material around the burn site Register your Burn-off by using the Fire Permits Victoria website or by calling 1800 668 511 Monitor, contain and extinguish your burn-off safely and effectively, and make sure it is 100% out before you leave it For more information on the Mornington Peninsula Council’s burn off laws please click the below link www.mornpen.vic.gov.au//Fire-Emer/Open-Air-Burning-Non-FDP

09.01.2022 This evening Hastings Fire Brigade alongside Bittern Fire Brigade attended a tree fire on Hunts Rd and Coolart Rd in Tuerong. When crews arrived they found a pine tree which had fallen down over two powerlines and subsequently caught fire. Crews were able to contain the fire to the tree while they awaited the power company to attend to isolate the powerlines. Once the powerlines were isolated crews were able to fully extinguish the fire. The scene was then handed over to the power company to restore the powerlines and organise contractors to remove the tree.
