11.01.2022 We’re croaking, bleating, whistling and barking with joy! With the help of all our citizen scientists who have submitted a recording of a frog call using our ...Frog ID app, we’ve now surpassed 200,000 validations! The recording that contributed to hitting this incredible milestone was captured by Tom in southern Sydney. And the frog in question was the threatened Red-crowned Toadlet (Pseudophryne australis). 02.01.2022 Have you met the North Coast’s most recent weed? After confirmation of its identity from the National Herbarium of NSW, the North Coast has recorded its first o...ccurrence of Japanese Walnut (Juglans ailantifolia). A biosecurity officer from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council found a number of small trees along a watercourse adjacent to the Wilson River. Japanese Walnut is an environmental weed that invades forests especially along the edges of waterways. It is long-lived and limits the growth of native plants under its wide canopy. The North Coast’s priority is to eradicate Japanese Walnut from the region before it can cause damage to land, waterways, and wildlife. If you think you have seen Japanese Walnut get in contact with your local biosecurity officer or call the NSW biosecurity helpline: 1800 680 244. See more
