Pictured L to R is Nick with the Club Captain Neil Smith. The A Grade winner was Tony Kennedy who played off 9 and he had a score of 71 on a count back. In B Grade Stephan Purcell was the winner, Steve had score of 69 playing off a 19 handicap. Rodney Gill who played off 36 was the C Grade winner with a score of 74 on a count back To follow it a video of the wind at the top of the 11th hole

23.01.2022 Both our clinics are very proud of Tony, a super star patient (literally). Tony is a talented singer, entertainer, comedian () caring husband and father. He also has muscular dystrophy but that’s not stopping him living his best life. Tony is jet setting overseas next week and we couldn’t be more excited for him. Have fun from Physiotherapist Guy, Exercise Physiologist Erin and Occupational Therapist Rebecca. Our two clinics will be quiet without you Tone! Hastings Physio family

16.01.2022 Who remembers the good days where as kids, we spent endless hours playing outside on weekends and after school? The only rule was that we would have to come home when the street lights came on? I have no doubt that this unstructured outdoors play prompted us to think more creatively and to come up with our own solutions.... You might like to check out this article that shows that playing outdoors boosts children’s cognitive development and mental health. How can you encourage more outdoor play this weekend?

09.01.2022 Hastings Physio are so excited to welcome Brianna Seward, daughter of Paul Seward, who will be joining us for a five-week uni placement. Brianna is completing her final Physiotherapy Placement with us before graduating as a Physiotherapist later this year. Brianna has finished her three years of uni theory and already completed 25 weeks placement elsewhere so you can be assured she has a great base knowledge of physiotherapy and the musculoskeletal system. We also hear she ha...s achieved some pretty outstanding academic awards along the way. Many patients would recognise her name. Not only did Brianna use to work at the practice assisting the physiotherapist and on the desk four years ago, but Brianna has been a part of the Hasting Physio journey for a long time. Brianna's father Paul Seward founded Hastings Physio back in 1986, so it is safe to say Brianna has been around the practice more than most. Brianna will be treating patients from the 2nd November for a $5 donation. All proceeds will be going towards our patient, Tony Samuels', fundraising effort to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. To book an appointment with Brianna please call 6583 2111.

01.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE from department of health WE ARE OPEN - Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists and other allied health professionals can continue and are encouraged to continue face to face consultations at this stage. Key notes from live department of health update. Minister Hunt wants to ensure that face to face consultations with therapists continue where possible. Allied health remains an essential service.... As per guidelines, ensuring all therapists are well and patients are well during face to face consultations. Continue screening measures as per gov guidelines and checking if patients are feeling well / no contact with confirmed/suspected Covid-19. Minister Hunt doesn't want telehealth to be implemented in a way that leads to the closure of health services, especially in rural or remote areas. Many clients in marginalised populations will have difficulty accessing Telehealth and still require face to face consultations. The government are continuing to work with peak bodies around telehealth services and funding for patients to access Telehealth. Should allied health and NDIS providers still be condcucting home visits? Absolutely essential that we continue to provide essential services, particularly to keep people well and allowing them to function at home. Contine to be scrupulous with hand hygiene and wash hands between visits. Maintain 1.5m distance where possible. Ensure that clients are doing the same. If clients have symptoms, you should not be engaging with them. Allied health are requesting improved access to PPE. Global shortage of PPE to protect healthcare workers. More stock coming in to be distributed. Current guidelines recommend strict hand hygiene to be in place during face to face consultations. At the moment, the guidelines don't say to wear protective gear, but try to maintain the 1.5m physical distance where possible. Online training module on COVID-19 should be accessed by all healthcare workers.Takes 15-30minutes to be completed. Is allied health going to remain open after stage 3 lockdown? Not able to pre-empt what decisions will be made by the national cabinet. At the moment, it is essential that allied health continue services.

01.01.2022 Hastings Physio patient, Tony, lives with Muscular Dystrophy. Eighteen months ago, Tony hit rock bottom after having a severe fall that left him hospitalised. While laying flat on his back in the hospital, Tony made the decision to turn his life around and face his condition head-on. Tony began regular physiotherapy and exercise physiology sessions and took back control. As Tony heads towards his 60th birthday he has decided to walk 60km. For a man who, up until 12 months ago..., couldn't walk unassisted, this will be a massive achievement. A Fundraising page has been established in Tony's honour and you can donate online here: https://bit.ly/3l1U87f #mdnsw #musculardystrophy #musculardystrophynsw #portmacquarie
