Michelle’s favourite toy are our magnetic construction sets called Magformers. She loves watching her 3 kids (aging from 4years to 10 years) explore the different ways they can build all types of shapes and buildings. 15.01.2022 We LOVE hearing toy feedback from our members! Sophie borrowed the 'Dust, Sweep & Mop set' for her 4 year old and she was grateful that there was no setup - just immediate play! So many benefits, thanks Toy Libraries Australia for sharing! -- Marbles, and marble runs, have been around for centuries, and there's a reason why they've stood the test of time. These toys may appear simple but they have the benefits of being open ended and versatile, as well as being highly educational.... Marble runs are fantastic for building a range of skills, including: Fine motor skills (just look at the grip in our photo below) Problem solving (If I put it together like this, what happens?) Resilience (It's not doing what I want, but I can work to figure it out) STEM concepts such as gravity, acceleration, resistance (Some marble runs, such as the Hape Quadrilla Vertigo, even have add ons that can lead to coding concepts!) Plastic marble runs with pieces that "lock" together can be better for younger children as there is less chance of accidentally knocking over a beloved creation. Older children can manage the stacking and balancing of wooden style marble runs better (... usually.) Many marble runs are labelled as for children over the age of 3, but with close supervision and support younger children can also enjoy these toys. There are also "beginner" marble runs that have larger pieces, marketed towards this age. Marble runs are a staple in most toy libraries, often with many different sets available.
