21.01.2022 Plants make me happy Today my order arrived from @nursery2u I'm so happy with my purchases and I got 3 plants for free! Had to duck into town to buy some po...ts for them all and spent the afternoon re-potting them. Oh they look so pretty I can't wait for them all to grow big and strong. Now I need to find homes for them all. I plan to put some in the office, Ziggy's room and Micah's room but can't while the Reno's are happening so will spread then through the house for now and find them new homes once the rooms are all complete
19.01.2022 Our 'Meyer' Lemon tree flowering. We will knock these off as the tree is quite young, this helps the tree put it's energy into growing rather then fruit. This will reward us in years to come...
19.01.2022 Love seeing memories pop up from our 1st & 2nd years at the Whitsundays Show. Here are some of the awards we were extremely excited to receive. We have them framed and hanging up in our house...
19.01.2022 So we were in a shop the other day and saw small avocado trees for sale for $60 each, glad we grow our own from the avocados we eat. Yes it will be quite some time before you get fruit off your trees either way you go, but I know which way my wallet prefers. This is the method we use; 1. Peel the seed... 2. Locate the natural seams on the seed 3. Pointy end faces up 4. Place 3 toothpicks into the seed away from natural seams in a slight upward direction to allow the seed to seat deeper in the glass 5. Place in a glass of water out of sunlight 6. Ensure water is always clean 7. Once root starts to form keep out of sunlight and ensure clean water 8. Once the seed spilts and it starts to shoot move into sunlight making sure there is always clean water. 9. Once there is 3-4 good size leaves plant out into a pot and go from there. Have you tried this at home? #whitsundays #avocado #avocadoseed #reuse #regrowing

12.01.2022 Today is my rest day from training so it's a Reno Day. Luna is today's site manager making sure everything is done right. Ziggys room is coming along and will ...be ready to start painting this afternoon. Then again just waiting on the flooring. Cant wait for his room to be finished so I can style it with all the pretty things I've been collecting.

08.01.2022 Beautiful evening here in the Whitsundays around the camp fire...
07.01.2022 Used the seeds out of a store bought chilli and put them in old toilet paper rolls with a bit of potting mix. Will put the rolls straight in the garden once these little guys get a bit bigger, this concept like the Jiffy pots is great as it causes pretty much zero root disturbance when planting out... #whogivesascrap #reuse #chilli #germination #whitsundays #garden #homegrown #toiletrolls #dirt #soil #selfsufficient

05.01.2022 Well the bath tub herb garden is doing very well, our Basil has gone crazy so we thought we would have a go at making our own pesto to have with some chicken and fettuccini for dinner tonight. Tasted great... :)
05.01.2022 It's been quite wet here over the last week or so, we leave seed for the wild Peacocks on this log in the backyard and it has sprouted...
04.01.2022 Tomorrow, Saturday 25 April 2020, will be an Anzac Day like no other. Each year at dawn on Anzac Day, Australians young and old normally stand shoulder to shoul...der to honour our past and present service men and women. However this year all services have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic so Council has produced a special Anzac Day ‘Light up the Dawn’ virtual service as a way of honouring the spirit of our Anzacs in these challenging times. The video features Mayor Andrew Willcox, veterans and community members from the Whitsunday region recreating the various parts of a traditional Anzac Day service in their own driveways. We encourage Whitsunday residents to watch the service as part of their personal commemoration tomorrow at 6am. Take a photo or video of your driveway tribute and share it with us by using the hashtag #ourwhitsunday! #ourwhitsunday | #lightupthedawn | #ANZACspirit | BOWEN RSL | RSL Proserpine
