25.01.2022 I love toy sewing machines. This one was made in USSR & is from Ukraine. Great condition & still has original manual, dated 1984.
08.01.2022 Finally have 3 lovely lady head vases to add to the vanity museum.
06.01.2022 How cute is this 1940s Peter Pan child's sewing machine! I have given it a good clean and it's in great working condition. The Peter Pan toy sewing machines were made by the company of Colton, Palmer & Preston who operated a factory in Adelaide, South Australia from 1942 until 1964 when the equipment was sold. They produced 2 Peter Pan models known as the Model 0 and the Model 1. In 1948 the Model 0 sold for 2-3s-6d. The Peter Pan is a very close clone of the original Singer 20 toy sewing machine, but it can be clearly identified by the words PETER PAN cast boldly into the front of the body. At the rear of the machine a gold and pale blue decal also proudly shows the name "Peter Pan" and "Made in Australia".
05.01.2022 This is a large USA Pozzoni's powder tin, circa 1912. Pozzoni drug stores were the first to offer a gold brass tin with the purchase of their loose powder which came in a cardboard box. The patent date is imprinted on the inner lip of the lid, "PATENT JULY 9' 1912. This was the very first compact ever made.
04.01.2022 Here is a Mary Garden powder tin. First made in 1916, this is the second version, made in 1920. Still has the pressed powder plate inside. First photo is how I received it. I have given it a good clean and polish and now it looks as it would have been when first bought.
01.01.2022 Can I fix this? Yes I can! This large 1960s laminate display cabinet had the doors & drawers painted in acrylic paint. I cleaned off the paint to reveal pristine laminate. I replaced the ugly brown handles for gold ones. Now restored, its a beautiful vintage unit.
