05.01.2022 How about a bush walk on Sunday with some lovely folks?

04.01.2022 HEN's youngest member. Today the HEN team working at Pughs Lagoon was joined by our youngest member, Hunter O'Rourke. Hunter paid his HEN membership with his own pocket money and was keen to start helping to make the Hawkesbury a better place.... Hunter said he joined "to help the environment" and planted a cabbage gum, a melaleuca and several sedges. Hunter's sister, Olive also planted a melaleuca. HEN hopes that more young kids will now be inspired to join Hawkesbury Environment Network to help improve the environment.

01.01.2022 A big thank you to our wonderful community volunteers for their help today at Pugh’s Lagoon. Working with Ecotune staff we weeded and planted a new section of this popular wetland. Out went the weeds such as cestrum, celtis, camphor laurel and privet then in went 45 native wetland sedges and trees. It was encouraging to see a little family of purple swamp hens and two native turtles sunning themselves on a log. With more native plantings we can expect to an increase in the wildlife at Pughs. Our federal member for Macquarie Susan Templeman, also dropped in to offer her encouragement for our progress on our project. By restoring the margins of Pugh’s Lagoon we are promoting the value and beauty of our wonderful wetlands.
