22.01.2022 After six long months and one false start, we are pleased to announce that our much loved hospital volunteers will be retuning with the re-opening of the hospital gift shop on Tuesday 6th October. The gift shop will be open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm and stocks an array of beautiful unique gifts, cards, snacks and magazines.

14.01.2022 Introducing our Director of Emergency Dr Serena Ayers. Dr Ayers commenced at Hawkesbury Hospital in March this year, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Ayers has a wealth of experience having previously led some of the busiest emergency trauma hospitals in NSW. Soon after her arrival, Dr Ayers received the honour of being appointed Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor with the Notre Dame University School of Medicine. Dr Ayer’s passion and commitment to the education of our future doctors and providing a high standard of compassionate patient care, ensures a bright future for health care in the Hawkesbury.

11.01.2022 Registered Nurse Nicole can be found most days taking care of patients in our Barry Collins ward. Nicole’s passion for helping others extends well beyond the ward walls with her work supporting women in need through the Share the Dignity charity. The charity distributes bags filled with care items to women who otherwise may not be able to afford themselves such simple luxuries. Through staff donations, Nicole was able to make and deliver 73 bags. These bags will go a long way in creating a brighter Christmas for their recipients. Well done Nicole!

10.01.2022 Big thank you to the children from St Matthew's Catholic Primary, Windsor out of school hours care for the lovely and very thoughtful notes of appreciation for our nurses and doctors. Our emergency department staff were thrilled to receive them and they will be displayed on the walls as a reminder of the wonderful support we receive from our community.

10.01.2022 Heart felt thank you to the Year 10 transition to workplace students and teachers from Bede Polding College who donated care packs filled with toys for our children’s ward. The care packs are sure to bring some Christmas cheer to children and their siblings spending time in hospital during the festive season.

04.01.2022 Always was, always will be is this year's theme for NAIDOC Week which recognises the First Nations paeople who have occupied and cared for this land for over 65,000 years. As part of NAIDOC Week, we revealed a series of logs, with beautifully hand-crafted images of animals native to this region. The logs were gifted to us by our local Aboriginal Community and also included a hand-crafted welcome stick. The artwork was created by our very own talented Aboriginal Liaison Officer Vicki and celebrates the history, culture and achievements of the Aboriginal Community.

On Tuesday 15 September, a new COVID 19 drive-thru testing clinic will open in the car park of Hawkesbury District Health Service, 2 Day Street, Windsor. The clinic will operate between 9 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. This free service requires no referral and results will be sent to you by SMS within 24-72 hours.
