23.01.2022 Currently in Australia it is estimated that there are less than 1000 wild numbats. Feral cat control is helping improve their numbers. Control of feral cats will help all native species numbers improve. https://www.abc.net.au//wa-numbat-numbers-soar-i/12900562

21.01.2022 Hi all, unfortunately the email Broadheads didn’t get sent out until today because of a technical issue. We are having the AGM tonight at our temp venue - Penrith Services Office, Level 1, 331 High St Penrith. It’s between Service NSW and the Police Station. Dinner will be provided. We hope to see you there. Please be aware that we will have to abide by social distancing rules at all times.

21.01.2022 Hopefully this sets a precedent for big business that they take heritage sites more seriously. When big business are protecting Aboriginal heritage areas hopefully that will help shift the public perception and appreciation of Aboriginal heritage too. Maybe its a step closer to Big business's taking environmental protection more seriously too.

21.01.2022 I hope they can find out what the cause is and stop the decline.

19.01.2022 Maryborough Snake Catcher Shane Epps has shared his method for eradicating cane toads - before they grow into toads! For about $15 he says you can "cut out the ...sides of the tub and silicone the funnels to the side. I froze some grown toads for bait, put it in the dam and there you have it - thousands of tadpoles eradicated in one night!" It's a design endorsed by Biosecurity Queensland - and Shane reckons it's a relatively humane method of reducing the population of the pest, which is harmful to native wildlife. He explains it doesn't trap other animals like frogs, who aren't attracted to the cane toad carcasses.

19.01.2022 THIS IS URGENT We are in an extinction crisis. The grey-headed flying fox is essential to the forest ecosystem of Australia’s east coast. But it is disappearing before our eyes. We must demand laws that *actually* protect nature, to protect our wildlife from extinction.

19.01.2022 They've been compared to baby crocodiles and can fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars on the black market. Nangur Spiny Skinks are critically endangered. But a Queensland-first breeding program has already produced babies, and hope. www.7NEWS.com.au #7NEWS
