25.01.2022 The first Time Travellers book club will be held on Wednesday 3 February 7-8pm, via Zoom. If you love reading and discussing books, this new online book club is a great opportunity to make connections with like-minded readers. 20.01.2022 #THROWBACKTHURSDAY ~ this rare image shows Wesleyan Hall, Church and Parsonage facing Macquarie Street from corner of Fitzgerald Street, Windsor. The church and parsonage were destroyed by the Great fire of December 1874. The Hall (opened in 1861) survived and still stands today. The church was rebuilt facing Fitzgerald Street and the first service was held in 1876. From Hawkesbury Library Service.

15.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday ~ John Tebbutt (born in 1834) was a pioneer in the field of astronomy and lived his whole life in the Hawkesbury district. He was highly regarded both here and overseas and his observations assisted in advancing astronomy in Australia and internationally. Tebbutt died on 29 November 1916, aged 82 years and is buried at St Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Windsor.

It was an Australian action/spy movie filmed between1969-1970 but not released until 1975 and did not fare well at the box office. Jack Thompson apparently made his first movie appearance as a spy, and Carl Betz, Nancy Kwan and Bobby Rydell also starred. The first shows a bullock team at Bilpin hauling a jinker with large logs while the second shows a bullock team contrasted with a vehicle. The third shot is of Allen Love, Jack Jones, Frank & Anne Ward at Bilpin. It is believed the images were taken 1920/1930s.

05.01.2022 #THROWBACKTHURSDAY ~ this image was taken in 1911 in front of the Windsor Council office in George Street, opposite Christie Street. The townspeople were dressed up in their finery waiting for the Governor of NSW (Frederic John Napier Thesiger, 1st Viscount Chelmsford)to arrive. The Governor was in Windsor to officially open the newly renovated Hospital. 05.01.2022 #ThrowbackThursday ~ today marks 210 years of the death of emancipated convict, Andrew Thompson. He arrived in 1792 on the "Pitt" and was known for his business acumen in the early colony, particularly in the Hawkesbury. His gravestone is the oldest in St Matthew's Anglican Cemetery, Windsor. Thompson Square in Windsor was named after him by Governor Macquarie.
