10.01.2022 The loads are getting bigger!!! All of this from 400 metres of foreshore opposite the Derrubben Reserve at Mooney Mooney. At time the fridges floated towards u...s, and the keen boys from "The Glen" hauled all of the larger items on board. Aluminium fabrication, from possibly stables, sheds or even caravans with polystyrene was very thick here. 26 sheets stacked on the barge plus seven fridges, tyres, buckets and those big blue drums. The removal process would be much easier if a large skip bin was placed beside our boat ramps to allow the debris that Clean4shore and the community are collecting to be easily stored. We filled our barge today in forty minutes, a huge load which then needed towing to Woy Woy Landfill. We can fill three barges, if we can dispose more efficiently. Facebook spotters are providing bulk locations of debris, which is of great assistance. Cobar Bay was full of debris on Wednesday, is it all still present? The Gut in Sandbrook Inlet, well it should be full of floating debris. How is Cowan Creek and Berowra Waters, send some info and photos please. Suggesting that our small river communities gather if possible the larger and smaller items, stack them safely on dry land, then contact Rob Moxham or Clean4shore (0411184642) for an organised bulk pick up. The second attempt to move the large container from behind Bar Island commenced today. A semi trailer was waiting for its arrival late this arvo at Derrubben. Hoping all goes well. Clean4shore will be at Patonga tomorrow morning, and boat owner wishing to assist can look out for our barge. Am looking at the foreshore from Flint and Steel to Refuge Bay. What a great job The Glen team completed today, many thanks. 1.60 tonne delivered to Woy Woy Landfill, including seven fridges. Our fridge count is now 10, with 14 of the blue drums collected. Our task is two days old we have 3.580 tonne off loaded at the tip. See more

07.01.2022 HAWKESBURY RIVER HOME BUILDERS (HRHB) DEMONSTRATES LOCAL KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY DURING ‘ONCE IN 60-YEAR FLOOD EVENT’! Having lived and worked at water-access-only locations on the Hawkesbury River for the past 20 years and having witnessed first-hand 3 similar flood events to the recent 1 in 60-year flood, builder Ryan Cooper of HRHB, had the knowledge and foresight to: - call off the concrete formwork scheduled to start at their Brooklyn Road project 2 days beforehand. pack... up tools and relocate from the Neverfail Bay/Berowra Waters water-access-only project the day before the site became inaccessible. Without carpenters’ tools of trade and equipment, no further work would have been possible at any of their other sites. The Result? 1/ HRHB’s insightful rescheduling prior to the flood event allowed their Dangar Island project to accelerate ahead of schedule for an earlier handover to a now delighted client! 2/ No remedial works were required to any projects caused from local flooding. 3/ As water access-only specialists, the team at HRHB cleverly mitigated the flood events in advance, resulting in a minimum of disruption to their clients.
