20.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE: All events being held at the showgrounds are run under strict COVID safe plans. The Association as well as all private users are required to have a plan in place. This includes recording the name and contact details every visitor to the site for contact tracing, enforcing strict social distancing rules, providing hand washing and sanitising stations, enforcing limitions on the number of people on the grounds and asking anyone who is unwell or who has recently visited a COVID hotspot to stay home. We take the health and safety of our staff and visitors very seriously and protecting them is our top priority. We are monitoring all Public Health advice updates and will enforce changes immediatley if required.

20.01.2022 Pleasing to see the following announcement has just been made so our Spring Show and Dressage Competitions are good to go ahead.. We are still restricted to a m...aximum of 500 on the grounds, so we will be monitoring entries and may have to close earlier if entries numbers become large. From the NSW Chief Health Officer: From Saturday 26 September, interregional community sporting competitions may recommence without restricting these activities to regions or zones, where there is a COVID-19 Safety Plan for community sport activity in place. Physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres should be maintained between people that are not from the same household. Ensure strict compliance with all other elements of the COVID-19 Safety Plan.

17.01.2022 The date for the Spring Horse Show and Dressage Carnival has been changed to 17th & 18th October. Some schedule changes have been made as well as additional age classes for dressage. These will be posted in the coming days

17.01.2022 Beautiful morning for a visit from Susan Templeman member for Macquarie to open the new Canine Amenities block which was built with the assistance of a small gr...ant supported by Susan through the Stronger Communities building grants. In this time of COVID 19 restrictions , this was a small low key event, but as Susan is heading down to Canberra next week, she was keen to be able to report on another completed project in her electorate. Representing Hawkesbury Dog Agility Club was President Bronwynne Goyen who expressed the clubs extreme gratitude for this new facility. HDAA President Ross Matheson was also present to acknowledge the Associations appreciation for the support. 16.01.2022 Please note that this clinic located on the Showground is run by Nepean Blue Mountains Local District Health and NOT the office. Entry is via Gate 3 only, which is clearly sign posted by a large VMS board on Racecourse Rd at the test station entrance. Opening and closing times are also clearly advertised. Please do not come into the office, particularly if you are there to be tested and have symptoms. You will not be given access to the testing clinic via the Gate 2 office e...ntry. If Gate 3 is closed, then the clinic is closed. On busy days, the gate might be closed before 3pm to ensure testing is completed by 3pm. You will also not be granted access to the office bathroom facilities. The office does also not have access to test results. You will be given clear, written instructions at the point of testing. 13.01.2022 Great to see that the Showground was able to provide the Hawkesbury City Council and the Hawkesbury Community with a facility that made it easy to dispose of their chemicals. We have been working together for many years and it demonstrates the wide range of uses the showground has. Not only do we operate as an entertainment and sporting facility but we also assist the community through events like this. During this COVID restricted period, we can still offer a safe place for people to carry on their normal way of life.

13.01.2022 Medal for a Hawkesbury "living legend" Hawkesbury resident Joyce Brook is one of the most well-known names in the Australian equestrian world, inducted into the... Equestrian Australia Hall of Fame alongside her late husband, Bob, for service to horse sport. But there are more achievements. As a young woman she served as Corporal Gladys Joyce Lavender in the Army during WWII. I was delighted to meet Joyce, and honoured to present her with a Commemorative Medallion acknowledging the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Pacific. She was joined by two granddaughters, Rachael Brook and Liz Koob, who got to hear some of Joyces wonderful stories about working in the tunnels near the Conservatorium of Music in Sydney. Anyone who knows Joyce will know that, at 96, she has a wicked sense of humour and we were all very entertained by her stories - there is definitely a book there! Thank you for your service, Joyce. 13.01.2022 Due to the new recommendations from the Chief Health Officer regarding Community Sports, HDAA have made the decision to postpone the Spring Horse Show, Clydesda...le Show and Dressage competitions. These new recommendations call for activities involving travel by participants from different regions to cease. We will plan to now run these shows on Saturday 17th October and Sunday 18th October. Further updates will be given regarding opening and closing dates for entries in the near future. The health, safety and wellbeing of all our exhibitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. 10.01.2022 WOW - what a huge weekend we have just had with 2 big days of hacking, breed, dressage, harness and heavy horse events. Please help acknowledge the hours of har...d work the horse committee - Ken, Jenny, Eliza, Caroline, Kerrie and Pip - have put in to make this event the success it was. Thank you to all the judges, stewards and pencillers for your time and consideration to all the exhibitors- for some it was a very long day. Special mention to Adam and Abby in the stockhorse ring yesterday. To the sponsors, your donations are always greatly appreciated by the lucky winners. Thank you to the COVID check in team of Phil, Alf and David for getting everyone into the grounds quickly and ensuring we comply with Covid tracking requirements. ( We even had some of next doors Show jumping riders, joining our queue and try to come in!!!! Thank you to other committee members Pauline, Amanda & Bronte, Elaine, Dennis, Geoff ,Elaine,and Theresa as well as Shannon for giving up time on the weekend to assist. Big thanks to the Matheson Catering crew for making up delicious fresh sandwiches each morning for our officials & volunteers. To all the helpers in the dressage area - Murray, Libby, Greg, Dodi and all the runners, thank you for your assistance. Thanks to Bruce Flood catering for feeding the hungry masses. Finally thank you to the exhibitors, for without your on going support, we could not run shows like this Sorry if I have missed anyone.

07.01.2022 HAWKESBURY COVID CLINIC UPDATE | We have moved our Hawkesbury COVID-19 testing clinic from Hawkesbury Hospital to a new drive through location at Hawkesbury Sho...wground. The clinic will run every Monday to Friday from 10am to 12:30pm and 1pm -3pm, starting from 1 June. Signage is in place to help direct you. Anyone with symptoms should be tested for COVID-19. Widespread testing remains important to help keep our communities safe. This clinic is drive-through only. 07.01.2022 The Show Auxiliary held their AGM today with Diane Shaw retiring and Ann Hair now the new president. It was also a farewell to Diane who has moved to Millthorpe and Maggie Kable who will be moving to Tasmania. Diane was also presented with a RAS medal in recognition of her long contribution to Hawkesbury Show. This should have been presented at our annual show but COVID delayed this much deserved award.

01.01.2022 ATTENTION HEAVY HORSE COMPETITORS COVID 19 has seen many Horse Shows cancelled over the last 6 months so we are excited to be able to now conduct a Spring Horse... Show on 19 - 20 September at the Showground. Heavy Horse competitors will be offered a comprehensive range of classes on Sunday 20 September. Classes will include Best Presented, Led, Ridden, Handlers, Delivery and Turnout, Working Classes and for the first time at Hawkesbury Showground a ridden Concours d'Elegance costume class. In addition, the 2020 NSW Clydesdale Show will also be held in conjunction with the Hawkesbury Spring Horse Show.
