25.01.2022 If you can learn to see the beauty in the dark then you become untouchable..
24.01.2022 The March of time... Our galactic arm sets for another year. It’s been a very strange year but yet again we have marched forward and things have changed. Time waits for no one is an old saying. Or is it new? Does it even matter? There is really only now so hook into this moment and get dragged along for the ride. Like riding a wave you may well find yourself crashing on an unfamiliar beach or maybe it’ll pass under you and not change a thing. I just wrote that off the bat a...nd I have no idea if it makes sense. But tomorrow that will be yesterday’s news anyway! About the photo. It’s about 400 images blended together from my home bend on the mighty Murray. Really was a thrown together edit - because you know - no time for any more at this point! #time #gone #wave #bye #moment #clickclickboom See more
23.01.2022 In case you missed it lol
22.01.2022 Our Baby Bear Braxton Just messing around setting up the studio. Cant wait to add proper studio portraiture to my services. Theres something so emotive about capturing a living being in nice light Love this little soul
21.01.2022 Fletchers Lake Magic Mammatus clouds form in a dust storm over Fletchers lake and spit out lighting and muddy rain! Not the best lightning shot as it was over exposed and has some shake but I’ll take it! This looks like a serene scene but it was anything but. Note the movement in the tree and kicked up dust! It was a crazy storm! Got quite a few amazing photos of it but had to share this favorite! There really is something amazing about that place, locals have told me wh...at it used to be like and I swear the energy of the past hangs around there... #magic #storm #fletcherslake See more
21.01.2022 Silverton What a gorgeous little scene! Thanks to Adam Edwards Photography for being a tour guide last week and allowing me to capture this beauty
21.01.2022 Bad moons rising. A couple of fantasy images I created last night. But were created using 2 single images both shot on the same day What do you think?
20.01.2022 Santa Sighted over the Murray Merry Christmas all! Wishing you all love and happiness surrounded by those you love!
20.01.2022 A magnificent Great Egret with their beautiful breeding plumage out. I always think this must be where the idea of a wedding veil etc comes from. These are very hard birds to get shots of as the white is either over bright or dull. But I think I nailed these Hope you love this gorgeous creature as much as me
20.01.2022 Locals supporting locals! Thanks so much to the MRD team for choosing my images to use on this amazing advertising for our region. It’s more than an honor
19.01.2022 GALACTIC GOLD Ever since I was a kid Ive always had my eyes on the sky. At a young age I realized that as the days lengthened, galactic bodies such as andromeda, Pleiades, Orion and such appeared over the horizon. As the Milky Way and my very own Scorpius disappeared over the opposite. Did you know that the most distant body we can see here on earth is actually our neighbor. M1. Andromeda Galaxy. Actually about as big as the full moon in the sky but almost invisible to our human eyes. Isnt she a sight to behold rising from the glowing canola fields! Fields of Galactic gold! All of my photographic knowledge to date in one image. Hope it awes you as much as the world around us (and beyond) does me every single day #galacticgold #andromeda #canola #life #earth #lonelyplanet #space #astro #hawkeyephotography
19.01.2022 Deadly Hi friends. I was hesitant to post these on this page as I know you love my landscapes and portraits but thought I might lose a few followers haha Pretty proud of these shots from the other evening. Both found within about 10m of each other down on the river bank.
18.01.2022 Got a few snaps of the Roulette's as they flew into town today! Didn't realize old mate at the helm had noticed the idiot standing precariously on a car to get his photo haha!
18.01.2022 Into the Darkness From dusk to the glowing galactic core and onto the darkness of the summer night sky! The Milky Way core chases the sun and zodiacal light to disappear over the horizon for one one of the last times until next Autumn. It rapidly catches the sun signaling longer days and warmer nights. Over the summer I hope to still point my camera at the sky and capture some objects but for now I tilt my hat to our amazing galactic arm! I have this as an ultra high res vi...deo but not sure how to upload that - I tried here and failed so this is a crappy version for detail. #timelapse #love #milkyway #seeyalater #sionara
18.01.2022 Tones of Sunraysia. Where the deep red earth meets the deep blue sky Where the mighty Murray river flows and the eagles fly A special place, my home no doubt it drew me here And here youll find me, perhaps until the day I die ... #sunraysia #love #home #river #murray See more
18.01.2022 The speed of light... Walk the path with me
18.01.2022 2020 Christmas solstice Conjunction My son and I went out and witnessed the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn! The closest they have been in almost a thousand years and some say the beginning of a new age on earth. All on the summer solstice.
18.01.2022 Time waits for no one.. If you cant survive the drought then you wont be there to enjoy the rains. This Emu seemingly succumbed to the horrible drought we have had over the past few years and sadly isnt here to enjoy the rains that have made the land flourish once again. They are literally flourishing around what remains. I took this scene as a fitting reminder during the current tough time! I for one want to be here to enjoy the good times so lets dig in and get through this drought, for eventually the rains always come
17.01.2022 Every now and then, Sunraysia light up the sky like no where else in the known Universe! And just sometimes im lucky enough to attend the show... This cracker was on the banks of the Mighty Murray just near Coomealla. My new Polarizing lens filter definitely assisted in getting the crazy detail! The colors were changing by the minute... Hope you enjoy! I think there are some in here that deserve a spot on a wall so feel free to ask me re prints :D
17.01.2022 But was it by chance? Elements of stardust arranged into forms. Above a sea of sand, below a sea of stars. Insignificant in the scheme, but all important it seems. 3 best friends, 2 boys and their guide. A story thats solely theirs, yet on this lonely planet is lived countless times. #chancemeeting #life #love #guides
16.01.2022 Drove through a pretty cool little storm cell on the way home yesterday afternoon. After missing the storm cell of the year the day before I had to pull over for some snaps!
13.01.2022 The Tank We spend an afternoon exploring and found this empty tank. There was something obviously metaphoric about it relating to this crazy time we are living through. I hope my photos tell a story of this time. A roller coaster of a ride, most people I know are getting put through the ringer. Its a hard time and its easy to be morbid but if you look with hope you can always see plenty of positive! Just like the wildflowers growing in hope around the tank its true than an empty tank, although empty at this moment does hold the promise of water and more abundant times... Not to mention how a barren place like an empty tank in the desert can light up to the most brilliant display of art in the setting sun
13.01.2022 Hows this guy for a beast!? I stood patiently and had a chat with the magnificent creature - (I kid you not I have photos of them calling back) while I waited for the takeoff I knew was coming. Unfortunately the sun ducked behind a cloud just as a truck passed and off they went so the detail isnt as vivid as it could be. Still I just love this, so much power yet so much grace. Wedge tailed eagle - Wentworth, just on sunset
13.01.2022 Footy 2020 A boy stripped of what he loves. I posted this on my personal page on Tuesday when we got the word that footy was cancelled. We did the photo with JDs blessing. I had in my mind that it would cause controversy because in the current situation footy might not seem that important. But to this boy it is. When we talk about our time here on earth its always about the moments and the feelings they give us. Footy is his outlet, it gives him fitness, it gives him confid...ence, it gives him direction, it gives him mateship and a sense of identity. I was never that good at sports, but I had my outlets. He is visibly upset about this and despite what anyone says about the best for everyone and safety etc the fact that my first born son in a time of so much turbulence had his outlet taken away really really matters. Well thats what I was worried about getting negative feedback from but instead it was because he looks naked and that might make him either feel uncomfortable or give others reason to think unjust thoughts. The portrayal to me was slightly more graphic and I felt physically sick and took the photos down. I dwelled on it all and wondered if Id done the wrong thing by him and felt really bad. Since then I have spoken to JD and some family and friends and digested the situation. JD isnt naked and anyone who feels uncomfortable needs help. JD is raw, he is hurt, he is upset that one of his reasons for living is stripped from him in the name of public safety and absolutely ludicrous local travel laws. And for that reason we share this photo of a soul that I love more than almost anything on the planet and if this is confronting then good because the current situation is confronting and Im concerned we arent taking the mental health of our children seriously at all If we have no reason to live are we really alive anyway? 13.01.2022 I have been doing a lot of work in the garden lately which has been a rarity of late! And to reward me this gorgeous little family of aptly named Superb Fairy wrens has set up home here. They are busily flittering around the garden every day chasing morsels and singing out to each other enthusiastically! The blue one is the alpha male and the brown is a female who appear to have chosen each other and set up nest.
12.01.2022 Just a bit of moon magic tonight Casting some light into our crazy world
12.01.2022 Winter Diorama Believe it or not this is a drop of dew hanging on a rusty fence wire
12.01.2022 Just a little legend.
12.01.2022 Fly high! A majestic wedge tail eagle cruises through the moody sky this morning! The kids and I stalked this one for a bit hoping to get a close look but alas they couldnt stay composed and decided to run at it Got this as it exited stage left... How cool does it look on the moody clouds? #bird #hunt #adventure #wedgetailedeagle
11.01.2022 Moody evening yesterday was nice for a destressing walk in the rain Thought I’d share a few from the view
11.01.2022 Superstar! No Photoshop magic here just a bit of imagination and a Mirror!
10.01.2022 Stormy skies on the way home from work! Insane formations
10.01.2022 COMET NEOWISE After seeing the absolutely amazing photos coming from the northern hemisphere I was determined to get at least a faint image of our interstellar visitor as she passed by. In the Southern Hemisphere the sun covered her approach and closest days and now as she races away and gets fainter the moon is high in the sky drowning her out! C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) or Comet NEOWISE is a long period comet with a near-parabolic orbit discovered on March 27, 2020 Ventured out ...a few nights in a row and found the faint glowing green ball. Eventually getting brave and aligning the 600mm sigma lens to pick her up close in. Took a stack of shots at different settings to see what I could get. In reverse order, a shot last night on the back of the camera, a clearly green ball with a faint tail. Next shot is after stacking and editing a bunch of the images to come up with her detail. And finally I just had to come up with a creative image for the wall. The foreground was taken the other evening too and approx the same direction to keep it relevant! When I was younger I had a photo of comet Hale Bopp up for years that I bought and it was actually a shocking photo but I loved it! Theres definitely something special about these guys so I hope you enjoyed my adventure and images! If you want it on your wall Ill definitely be printing some out and might even add another foreground or two for some options! #comet #neowise #astro #astronomy #adventure #visitor #success See more
10.01.2022 Cant stop taking pictures of my picture, love it!! Is the feedback from Tara who recently purchased this massive floating canvas for her living area! Perfect spot to put it. I always want this page to be about sharing my work for all to see not the business side but seriously how cool is that!? Perfectly printed and framed by picture parlor and a stunning centerpiece! Thank you Tara

08.01.2022 POSTCARD FROM MILDURA Or should I say Milvegas!? Ive had this shot in mind for so long and at last made it a reality. Decided had to go the extra step and blend in a Milky Way sky that you really cant capture well from that spot... A merge of 3 images, 2 shot from that spot back to back and the sky from 5km down the road @nikonaustralia D750 ... @tamronaustralia 15-30G2 See more
07.01.2022 Haven’t had a chance to wander around with my camera lately. Yesterday I made time and was duly rewarded.. Spotted this guy that I’ve never seen the species before through the reeds yesterday! What a majestic being! How’s the yoga pose in the last shot! Thinking it’s a Pacific Heron Left it alone hoping it has a mate coming and has chosen the hood for a nest, the colored wing plumage suggests a breeder. #bird #local #love #heron #home #nature
07.01.2022 Absolutely beautiful family! Not much makes me happier than helping to create some special memories to treasure! Thanks Trish for trusting me to capture you gorgeous family Trish Slade
07.01.2022 Under the galactic rainbow Went for a little wander out on a local salt lake last night.. There is something you just cant describe about standing in a sea of stars. It was a big effort, I trekked out in the mud with a camera, 2 tripods, my new star adventurer tracker mount and of course some snacks lol. Nearly sank and fell which was hairy with all my gear but I set it all up as planned in front of this little fence and shot my pano. Next plan was to get back to the car... and image andromeda galaxy with my tele lens but my camera jammed on a setting thats never happened and after much frustration I headed home. Obviously last night was the night for Milky Way and my time to image our neighbor will come. 04.01.2022 This is my new photo toy and this is what it does! An equatorial mount for extra long exposure tracked night sky images Had my first go last night and safe to say Im impressed
04.01.2022 At last this year I felt confident to enter some images into the International Pano awards which definitely hold some merit. I ended up with 3 bronze awards which I was absolutely wrapped about but this image The eye of Bonney I entered into the open Pro awards and was amazed that it got a bronze award in that class with all the pro landscape photographers! Unfortunately I haven’t done any exciting Milky Way panos this year so might have to think outside the square for next years entry.
03.01.2022 Off the beaten track... Did a few kms today and definitely saw some head turning scenes with the spring growth and amazing sky!
