25.01.2022 The difference between training, practicing and competing. If we are constantly chasing those big number lifts every session we are going to burn out pretty quick and never actually improve. If you truly want to improve on your training sometimes you need to take 1 step back to take 10 steps forward. This means taking the time to learn the skill properly, breaking it down and practicing each phase until you nail it, working on percentages %.... Then and only then should we think about bringing intensity and more weight into our sessions. This is me practicing different phases of my snatch, the snatch is my most lacking skill so nailing the basics is high on my to do list



25.01.2022 There is this saying I heard once and it has stuck with me ever since. It goes "You're not a dog you dont need a treat everytime you do something good" Does that hit home a little too well?... A lot of us, even me at times thinks after you have done something good whether that be training hard at the gym or even having one good meal that you feel the need to treat yourself for those efforts. But why just undo all that hard work you have done for a treat you dont need. I hope that saying stays in the back of your head next time you wanna treat yourself It will only help you in the long run

24.01.2022 Mobility tip If you have trouble with tight hips or feel a pinch in your hip when you squat try this banded stretch before you squat next. The point of this is to create enough tension in your hip to pull your femur bone into a better, more central spot in your hip socket, so its not crushed up against the front (which could be causing the pinching sensation) ... Hold it for about 20-30 seconds each side and reassess your squat, you should feel as though you can sink a little deeper Hope this helps and happy squatting!!

Next time you do them try this for a warm up it's a great way to get the hammies and glutes firing properly before you lift Also great tool to use after a work out for a final booty burn cause this is pretty spicy ... 10 banded deadlifts 10 side steps left 10 side steps right 10 steps forward (driving legs 45 each step) 10 steps backwards (same thing) I just did 5 for video purposes Do it as many times as you feel necessary for a warm up

17.01.2022 If you struggle with mobility and losing a strong neutral spine when picking the bar off the floor with a deadlift try propping the weights up on some other weight plates. You still get a s##t tonne stronger and you can slowly use smaller weights until the bar is getting picked up from the floor

15.01.2022 Just a reminder to everyone that wants results immediately. It's just not going to happen! Consistency is key and the best thing you can do is at least do something positive each day for those long term gains! If we sit back and wish and hope too much instead of acting even if it's 1% every day you can see by the diagram below the effects it will have on you. ... So get after it and constantly chase! Always strive to be better and the results will come if not surpass them by a mile!

10.01.2022 How many of you take the time to work on accessories? Everyone loves to see the big lifts, the muscle ups, all the cool looking stuff but you gotta realise behind the scenes this is whats going on. Taking the time to work on specific muscle groups that could be lacking to develop overall stronger bodies ... My man Toby here is working on straight arm lat pulls to really isolate the lats. Making these bad boys stronger will carry over to stronger Olympic lifts, more pull ups and even muscle ups.

10.01.2022 I love my deadlifts, they're such a solid movement to providing a strong foundation strength in all movements. So why not make them harder and get a bit stronger? Adding a deficit to the deadlifts put a massive extra emphasis on your glutes and hammies. So add these to your training and thank me later

08.01.2022 Who wants the secret to losing fat?? I have it and although it may seem hard to follow its actually really simple The answer:... Eliminate sugar and starchy carbs out of your diet. We need to realise that its not dietry fat that makes us fat its carbs. These days we are surrounded by food that makes us fat and god does it taste good. But! If its truly fat that you want to lose this is what you have to do it doesnt mean eat less! You still need to meet your daily intake but you will need to up your proteins and fats and lots of veggies.

05.01.2022 How goods this legend! Tayla Elsley came in today on her birthday! We got through an awesome session that was birthday related and she definitely loved it I got her a box of favourites but gave her strict direction not to eat it for two weeks (until the challenge is done)

03.01.2022 Who wants to lose fat!? Read this!! As most of you are told if we are in a calorie defecit we are going to lose fat. Is this always the case?... Hell NO!! Why? Because its not about the quantity of food we are eating its the quality of food we are eating. This picture is an example of what NOT TO DO. This is actually from one of my own clients who will not be named but thought it was all about the calories, (Which they nailed!) But if they stuck to that meal plan they would see NO results! Because their calories are way too high and they arent eating enough Protein and Fat Obviously everyones meal plans will be different depending on goals, but if your goal is to LOSE FAT, I suggest you figure out your intake of carbs everyday, NOT FAT like the so called experts say is bad for you, your carbs and most likely you will be eating too much and no where near enough Protein or Fat. If you need guidance, speak to your trainer or you can message me Hope this changes the way you look at food a little

01.01.2022 Why I dont like New Years Resolutions!! Every year I see the same thing, people make these goals that are waaay too far out of their reach or they simply dont understand what it takes to get there. So what happens? ... About the 3rd of January everyone has broke their resolution and they complain that it wasnt their year and that they will try again next year. Its not that I dont like goals its that people set themselves up for failure and never go through with any of their goals, then they are stuck in the loop of dreaming that one day their dream will come true. My advice? One thing you can do is instead of saying what you will do say what you wont do. Its much easier to say no than it is to go out of your way to do something. Example: Instead of saying you will eat vegetables everyday so you can be healthier, try saying I will not have dessert no matter what. You are still creating a good habit to live by but you arent going through the harder task of food prepping everyday which a lot of people struggle with. I hope this helps a little
