06.01.2022 Last year, for the first time, I visited a remote Cambodian village. I was humbled by seeing people not have secure access to something I had just taken for gra...nted - clean water. I felt overwhelmed by the problem but I told the story to some internet friends who stepped in and contributed the money to build that village a reservoir. When I came back to Australia, I told the story of what I had seen and what some (many anonymous) internet friends had done to help out. A good friend David Guess said he wanted to help out with other villages with similar problems and offered to build a website to raise funds. That was the start of Well Directed. There's no shortage of need in Cambodia and we quickly identified a place called Roun Village that we wanted to help first. They have 270 families who all share a muddy reservoir that belongs to a private farmer. The water isn't clean and their access to it isn't secure. It's no cliche to say water is life and their need is about as fundamental as it gets. I'm pleased that today we have launched Well Directed and are now taking donations for a project to put two wells in Roun Village. I'm also very pleased to be able to say that every dollar raised will go directly to building the wells. - Peter Roehlen
