25.01.2022 After weeks of trying to get the name of this page changed with no success, I have decided to stop playing it safe and finally allow Haylstorm Fitness to become history. Thank you to all of you who have liked and followed my page, who engage with my videos and share your personal stories and insights. This page has been my business home for almost 7 years! It has gone through so many evolutions, from Zumba with Hayley, to Personal Training, and most recently to body image and... self-esteem. 22.01.2022 This is my "you can judge me and I won't give two shits" face. We can stomp around saying how we shouldn't judge each other but in real life that's like trying to stop fish from swimming or dogs from chasing stuff. Humans judge. It's part of how we determine our tribe. It's ingrained. ... The best solution I've found regarding judgement in my self acceptance journey is to remind myself that when someone else judges me, that's their shit. The difference between me now and me a few years ago is that I no longer give any shits back. The only judgement I try to actively change now is that which I aim at myself. I consciously try to judge myself less harshly and negatively, and instead work on being forgiving, kind, compassionate, and accepting of myself . . . . . #judgement #hatersgonnahate #idontgiveafuck #forgiveness #acceptance #humanity

These workshops are a taster for the Canberra community of the wider body of work that I do on self-esteem and health. You may be familiar with my ED story. I am an anorexia survivor and eating disorders have the highest mortality rates among mental illnesses. It is so important that we all take care of ourselves emotionally, not just our mindset, so that we can learn to cope in a much kinder, loving, and sustainable way and reclaim our worth. Yes for ourselves, and also for loved ones who may be suffering and we just don't know if yet. 12.01.2022 How I opened the doorway to accepting my body by ditching diet culture. The non-stop obsession with food. The daily struggle with your appearance. People telling you to eat more, eat less, stop being silly.... You desperately want it to end and have tried so many things to feel better about yourself. But how??? I was living this experience through my teens and 20's and it stole so much of time and my life. Isolating myself from friends and missing out on social events. Feeling exhausted from trying to stay in control all of the time. What I know now and wish someone had told me so much earlier on is that my toxic and obsessive relationship with food was making my negative body image WORSE. Intuitive eating wasn't a thing. Listening to your body wasn't a thing. It was all about getting smaller, leaner. Carbs were the devil. Eating fats made you get fat. Protein wasn't mentioned. Which left you with not very much to eat. And the diet noise today is just as loud - same old shit, different day. Since then I have learned simple yet effective ways of letting go of my obsessive thoughts and behaviours around food to enjoy eating again. I eat carbs, I eat fats, I listen to my body, and best of all, my relationship with my body is more loving and compassionate than ever and my eating disorder no longer controls my life.
