23.01.2022 Hands up who had one of these on their car today? Merry Christmas! PS. The cute little felt pictures are stickers by the way.
20.01.2022 When dogs circle and scratch at their beds, they are actually staking a personal claim to that special place. One feature of a dog’s paw pads is its scent glands. When dogs get ready for bed, their feet serve two purposes. Scratching at their beds and circling before lying down help our dogs chase away any unwanted pests and mark an area with their unique scent. If another dog tries to use it, the unique odor sends a clear message: ‘This bed is already occupied by a dog who ...has put in the work to get it just right.’ ......And here is one of my dogs, ‘Miso’ sending that message loud and clear on my lounge pillow.
20.01.2022 Was given this juvenile Pigeon after he was found in a gutter, unable to fly on a busy road. I taught him how to eat, drink, preen, bath and find other Pigeon friends and he is now flying free back in the wild. He even comes back to visit from time to time! (See his progress videos in comments below).
19.01.2022 Thank you so much for everybody’s likes and shares. I really appreciate it and am already receiving a lot of positive feedback.
17.01.2022 Racecourse Rd knows where it's at! Get onto their page, like it and follow. Amazing Vets and Vet Nurses who make your animals ALWAYS feel like a VIP!
14.01.2022 INTERESTING FACT: Insects are amazing but these little critters are also annoying! I'm talking about Sandflies, or, the Biting Midge, (they are the same thing).... I overheard a conversation between two people recently where they were convinced that the Midge bit it's victim, laid an egg in the bite and the itching started days later because the egg hatched in the skin. Ew! Gross! As much as that's a pretty cool story, it's not a fact at all. What these robust little insects do is bore, (by a sawing motion), into the skin to make a little hole for the blood to seep into, (a literal blood bath). They then secrete their saliva into the blood hole because it thins the blood so that they get more 'bang for their buck' for their meal on you. Greedy buggers! Usually we can't feel them biting us as they are only 2mm in length however, a day or so later, man, sucks to be you dude, (if you'll pardon the pun)! It's their saliva that can stay in the skin and react with a frustrating itch! Try dipping a cotton ball into hot black tea and resting it on the bites or good ole Calamine lotion that your Mum used to cover you in as a kid! Here's a pic of the little suckers with their faces buried in human skin! Hope you found this interesting.
14.01.2022 Hi all and thanks for liking! I am a qualified Veterinary Nurse with a massive passion for making animals feel loved, comfortable and cared for. I have 4 dogs and a cat at home,... I’m a happily married Wife, Mum, step Mum and Step Nan. I decided to start up a mobile Veterinary Nursing business after a recent life changing experience in 2020, (as if the Covid pandemic wasn’t enough for us all)! There seemed to be a real need for specialised, home pet care for busy families. I can even service clinics by being a ‘cuddle mummy’ for those highly anxious animals, being there for pats and toilet walks pre and post surgery. Please share my Facebook page and contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to loving your pet!
14.01.2022 It certainly is wild and woolly weather here on the NSW North Coast. I hope everybody is warm, safe and dry. Imagine the poor animals that have no shelter from the wet! Breaks my heart. Maybe have a think about what shelter you could put out so they can get dry and enjoy some temporary relief, eg. this simple bird box my husband made for me. This little sparrow is loving it!
11.01.2022 This is Pepper the Ragdoll X Cat. She’s usually extremely anxious with most people because all she really wants is a soft bed, quiet voices and of course some head rubs!
07.01.2022 Does your animal suffer major anxiety when it has to be left in a veterinary clinic for a few hours or a day surgery? I know being a Veterinary Nurse we do everything we can to keep all animals calm for their daunting stay in a clinic however, clinics get so crazy-busy it's impossible for a nurse to stay and cuddle an animal for the duration of their stay. After all, it's a hospital, just like the human version! Why don't you hire me for your pet as a 'cuddle Mummy?' I can sit with your pet for the whole day in a clinic if you need me to. Give me a call and have a chat about my different options. I'd love to help make the experience for your pet a loving and caring one!!
07.01.2022 My Dane X Boxer (Stevie) and my Ragdoll X (Pepper) just chill’n....
05.01.2022 Walking the streets over the weekend to do some letterbox drops. I think with this weather, I may need an umbrella!
05.01.2022 Remember Perky my rescue Pigeon that I've released back into the wild? He stopped in yesterday....I'm sure he was thinking, 'why get saturated outside when I'm sure my Foster Mumma Hayley would be happy for me to keep her company!' Spoilt Perky but isn't he adorable?!
04.01.2022 Meet Miso my adorable Mini Maltese X Teacup Poodle. Could he be anymore relaxed? (I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot of this little fur baby in my future posts)...
03.01.2022 My little Maltipoo ‘Miso’ is now feeling a little chilly from all this rain. He’s resigned to his usual Winter position in bed. Happy Sunday Miso! Time to get up little Man!
