24.01.2022 Rest is underrated. :)

23.01.2022 Today is International Women's Day. The theme is #ChooseToChallenge. So, today, I am challenging the thought that women are not equal, that they are unable t...o lead, that they are incapable of making balanced, well-reasoned decisions and are emotional beings who change their minds. Today, I am calling out gender bias on all levels. I am calling for gender parity. If a woman and a man are doing jobs that require equal effort and ability, they should receive the same remuneration. They should also receive the same opportunities. I have experienced gender bias in the past and it is unfair. It demoralises and demotivates. I am calling on governments, private businesses and non-government agencies to encourage the participation and full citizenship of women by ensuring that gender bias is not a barrier to participation at all levels. Today I celebrate the uniqueness of the feminine mind, the power of the feminine bond and the beauty of the feminine spirit in gathering, nurturing and protecting. Together we are a force. #ChooseToChallenge

18.01.2022 If we don't reflect, we don't change. As painful as it can be, when trauma knocks on our door and we unwittingly let it in, we then have to re-open that door and kick it back out. Pure and simple, but exceedingly difficult at the same time, because we will be forever marked by its arrival, but we don't have to allow trauma to be the new owner of our bodies. I know from experience that it is possible to digest that trauma, to ask all our questions of how and why, to cry our ...tears or bang the table or shout to the heavens, whatever it takes to evict that trauma out of our lives so that we can arrive at the position of understanding, forgiving ourselves or others and accepting our new normal bravely and courageously. If we have no insight, we are powerless. If we are too afraid to look in the mirror and see what might reflect back at us, we are powerless. But if we genuinely trust ourselves, being willing to look and trust that we are able to cope, that we can adjust, that we can allow resilience to rise within us, then we are truly powerful. Once you conquer the pit that is despair after trauma, there is nothing that will ever take you down again. And your strength will be like a garland around your neck of honour.

18.01.2022 I love that life is just one big canvas and if you don't like what you see, you can just put paint over it or put that canvas to the side and grab a new one and start painting a new picture. Too often we get afraid to put one canvas to the side and embrace a new picture or my favourite, to paint with vibrant colours! Life changing thought:... "Why not you, why not now? Why do good things have to happen to other people?" Dr Jim Rohn See more

15.01.2022 I had the privilege of being on the expert panel for the recent launch of the National Mental Health Commission’s Safety and Quality Engagement Guide for Consumers and Carers. Was a very stimulating conversation. I will post a link for those who are interested once the video is live online. #mentalhealth
