25.01.2022 Welcome to 2021! Looking forward to working with all my lovely patients on improving their health this year. I’ll be having a few changes this year- FRIDAYS I will be doing all video and phone consultations. I’ll sadly no longer be working from Fairlight but will be doing Fridays from home (practising what I preach and trying to live a little slower this year). I’ll be working from @phclinic_manly on Mondays 8-2, Wednesday’s 8-6 and every second Saturday 8-2. I’ll be havi...ng a small price increase starting this Jan.I haven’t increased my prices for over 5 years so I hope everyone understands a small price increase. Lastly, I’ll have a full herbal dispensary in clinic next week which will make it much easier for all of you to get your herbs on the spot. Yay! The next new patient appointment availability is mid Feb, please get in touch if you would like a booking. Looking forward to working with you all very soon! #naturopath #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #naturopathmanly #naturopathnorthernbeaches See more

24.01.2022 Hormonal acne There are a number of ways that different hormone profiles can trigger acne. The most common hormonal cause is high androgen hormones, and this causes the classic distribution of acne on the chin, jawline, neck, back or chest. High oestrogen can also be responsible for breakouts, and low progesterone too. Low progesterone will cause premenstrual acne breakouts so if you have pms symptoms and breakouts at the same time this could be your trigger. I always like to test hormone levels if we suspect a hormonal cause. If you want any more info let me know #acne #hormones #womenshealth #breakouts #skinhealth #skin #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #naturopathnorthernbeaches #naturopathmanly

22.01.2022 The beauty of staying at home and living slower is the delish lunches I now have time to make! Sweet potato and zucchini fritters with avo, haloumi and sautéed asian greens (that needed to be used up!). Ingredients for fritters: 1 small sweet potato 1.5 zucchini’s 1/4 red onion (I chopped these in the Thermomix in 4 seconds) ... Mixed with 2 eggs, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons of spelt flour. Mix together and pan fry like a pancake. Toddler and me loved them and plenty in the fridge for tomorrow’s lunch #babyfood #toddlerfood #healthyrecipe #lunchinsp #mealprep #nutrition #healthyfood #isolation #isolationcreation See more
21.01.2022 PMS! Did you know that PMS is not normal, and is usually a sign of a hormonal imbalance? PMS stands for premenstrual syndrome and include the symptoms some women can experience in the build up to their period such as mood changes, irritability, low mood, increased anxiety, bloating, tender breasts, tiredness, headaches or fluid retention. These changes are linked to a LOW PROGESTERONE level. Progesterone is an important hormone that is released from our ovary after ovulation ...and makes us feel happy, calm and content. A big drop in progesterone is what triggers our period to start, but if your progesterone levels are not reaching an optimum level in the week before your period then you will experience PMS. It’s crazy how many women think that a week of premenstrual symptoms is normal! It’s totally not normal, and totally not ok to spend 1 week every month feeling rubbish (especially when the period itself is often a hard week too!). #pms #hormones #hormonebalance #hormonehealth #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath See more
21.01.2022 Homemade natural hand sanitiser recipe It seems the most important advice we have been given so far to reduce the spread of #corona is to wash and sanitise our hands as often as possible. This is a little hard when hand sanitizers everywhere are sold out! So I’ve come up with this DIY hand sanitizer that you can make at home and keep on hand. Tag a friend who might be interested to make this for themselves!
20.01.2022 This aloe vera juice from @metagenics_anz is one of my favourite gut health products. It’s super soothing and anti-inflammatory to the digestive tract and encouraging a health gut lining helps to maintain a healthy gut microbiome and to reduce symptoms such as IBS. This one is the whole aloe plant blended and therefore is excellent for regulating bowel movements. It help to soften stools and very gently encourages peristalsis which makes it a very gentle help for constipation #constipation #ibs #guthealth #leakygut #ibd #herbalmedicine #herbs #sydneynaturopath #naturopathsydney #naturopathnorthernbeaches
20.01.2022 Changes for 2021 Hello everyone, here’s an update on appointments and bookings for 2021. I am currently booked out until mid Feb and am taking new patient bo...okings now for February so please get in touch if you have would like to book something in. Lastly, I’ll be taking time off from 23rd December until 18th Jan so please let me know if you need anytime before Christmas. Xx
19.01.2022 Who has been iso baking? These banana oat cookies are staples in our house, we make a batch every couple of weeks. They take only a few mins to prepare and cook, and use simple ingredients that you probably have in your cupboard. I’ve posted this recipe before but here is is again incase you missed it: 2 mashed bananas 1.5 cups of oats 1/2 cup spelt or wholemeal flour 1 egg ... 1/4 cup maple syrup 1/4 cup almond milk Pinch of cinnamon. Simply mix it all together, and spoon into a baking tray on baking paper in small biscuit sizes- bake for 8-10min. See more
18.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW that high stress levels lead to worse PMS? Women who report higher stress levels experience a worsening of PMS symptoms such as emotional changes, mood issues, bloating, fluid retention etc! This is because high stress levels (cortisol and adrenaline) suppress of ovaries ability to produce progesterone. So improving your stress response and balancing adrenal hormones is paramount to improving your pms. #stress #pms #hormones #hormonehealth #naturopath #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #herbalmedicine #healthyhormones
18.01.2022 Summer is in the air! And only 6 weeks till Christmas. I have limited appointment availability until Christmas and then will be off for a few weeks over Jan, so please get in touch if you want an appointment before the end of the year #naturopath #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #naturopathmanly #herbalmedicine
15.01.2022 I bulk cooked some hidden veggies pasta sauce today. This is onion, spinach, carrot, zucchini and mushrooms blitzed and sautéed, then I added organic passata and tin tomatoes and let it simmer for 10mins. My boys will have some tonight with chickpea pasta (fingers crossed they actually eat it!) and the rest in the freezer. Chickpea pasta is excellent as there are no ingredients other than chickpeas and an adult serve contains around 18g of protein- that’s the same as a piece of chicken!
14.01.2022 Merry Christmas from my family to yours
14.01.2022 Vitamin C! Always my number one go to for immune health! We all know that oranges are high in vitamin C, but did you know foods such as kiwi, berries, broccoli and sweet potato are also good sources? Including a few handfuls of these foods into your diet over the cooler months can help to keep your immune system healthy #vitaminc #immunehealth #immunity #nutrition #naturopath #naturopathy #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath
14.01.2022 Coffee- is it ok for us or not? In my researched opinion having 1 coffee a day, in the morning and about an hour away from your breakfast is totally fine for your health. The times I would recommend avoiding coffee completely is during the first trimester of pregnancy , if you suffer from anxiety or if that coffee causes you symptoms (it sounds silly, but so many of my patients continue with coffee even though it might bloat them, upset their tummy, cause their heart to race or cause anxiety- if your coffee is giving your symptoms then you shouldn’t be having it!). Having it away from food is important as it can inhibit absorption of some of our minerals such as iron. Enjoy your one cup a day
14.01.2022 I’m away this week so sorry for the slow replies to emails and messages. Will get back on in touch when we are back next week
11.01.2022 My first tip for improving your energy levels and stress is all about SLEEP. Sounds so simple, but so many clients I meet with are not prioritising sleep. Get to bed early- ideally by 9/9:30pm. The sleep we have before midnight is very important for adrenal hormone balance and energy so the earlier you go to bed the better! You will also find you have better energy levels if you wake earlier in the morning to start your day nice and slow. Aim for 5:30/6am wake ups. It might s...ound early, but I can promise your energy levels will be better waking earlier than if you are waking closer to 7am (or later!). Sleeping in might sound nice, but that late morning sleep is very dreamy and can be very hard wake up from. Waking early also gives you some spare time in the morning to ease into the day more slowly rather than rushing out the door to work like a maniac (unless you have young kids that wake up screaming for bluey and breakfast at 5:30am like mine- Not such a slow start to the day but I try!)#naturopath #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #naturopathmanly #health #adrenal #energy #fatigue #anxiety #adrenalfatigue See more
10.01.2022 Happy Sunday! Here are my top tips for creating the best nights sleep. It’s all about appropriately winding down and switching off before you plan to go to sleep. Our days are so busy and often involve a lot of stimulation, rushing around and screen time and we need to balance this out to allow our nervous system enough time to wind down for sleep. Create your own little ‘winding down ritual’ (as I discuss with my patients) to allow the best nights sleep
10.01.2022 In the blink of an eye our whole world has changed! And while there has been so much focus on immune health, we can’t ignore how important it now is to keep our stress and anxiety levels under control. If you feel you need some help, please reach out! So many natural solutions to help anxiety and stress. Here are a few daily tips: - daily exercise to raise those endorphins and burn through some adrenaline - get out in nature- I know this is hard as the moment as we are not s...upposed to be out of the house much- but do you exercise along a bush track or beach - daily meditation (simple as 5-10mins!) - take some magnesium before bed or have an Epsom salt bath - use the essential oil lavender in a diffuser for a calming scent See more
09.01.2022 Hello lovely patients! Unfortunately I have found myself in hospital this week and recovering from surgery with another surgery probable in the next few days. I will be ok! But I will need a few weeks off work. I know this is a major disruption to so many of my patients who have been patiently waiting for their appointment and it is disrupting the flow of your treatment plan and I’m so sorry! I will need to reschedule all patients in the next few weeks but promise I will find... you all a spot when I am back up and running. Please continue with your supplements and herbs, and send orders to each of my clinics reception teams directly if you need to stock up. Alternatively, pm me if you want to order your supplements online and I’ll set you up a link. If you have an appointment booked in the next few weeks someone will be in touch to reschedule very soon. I’m sorry I won’t be able to get to any emails in this time. I hope to see you all very soon! See more
08.01.2022 There are 2 very important baseline nutritional supplements that I will always prescribe for anyone suffering from adrenal fatigue, low energy levels and stress. These are a B VITAMIN COMPLEX and MAGNESIUM. Both of these are essentials for healthy adrenal hormone levels. B vitamins also improve your bodies ability to create cellular energy (or ATP) while magnesium is calming, reduces stress and has a viral role in helping the adrenal gland to normalise cortisol. Stress and ti...red people need b vitamin and magnesium in their life. My fav product for this is called MagTaur XCell. I love it as it’s a nice tasting powder with a combination of high dose b vitamins and magnesium as well as some taurine (an important amino acid for energy levels) and a little zinc. I get amazing feedback on this product making a huge difference to energy levels #energy #adrenals #adrenalfatigue #health #naturopath #naturopathy #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #naturopathmanly See more
08.01.2022 Setting up a little home office space this morning as I move my patients to predominantly online and phone consultations This also means I can be more flexible with times and can offer out of hours appointments. 08.01.2022 COFFEE ....As a follow on from my post yesterday’s let’s talk about coffee. Please stick to one a day, especially when run down and tired. It really does make you feel worse to have more than one coffee. Hypes you up, makes you feel more overwhelmed, reduces your appetite but also destabilised your blood sugar levels so you don’t eat enough but then get a big blood sugar crash and end up looking for high carb/sugar to feel good again. Or another coffee one a day early in the morning is enough to feel fine but more than that WILL make you feel worse. Even though the idea of the coffee seems nice at the time.... #coffee #naturopath #dietadvice #fatigue #tired #snooze #caffeine #nutrition #adrenalfatigue #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath
07.01.2022 EXERCISE for better energy: It can seem so hard when your already exhausted, but exercise is such an important way to keep your energy levels up. The research shows that exercise early in the morning, as soon as you wake up is the best time of day to exercise to for improved vitality, mood, stress and sleep. Keep it simple- a nice walk is fine. It’s particularly beneficial to exercise in nature if you can- a bushwalk, walk along the beach or a walk around the block. Being out...side is better than an I for (gym) environment. If you are very depleted, keep to 15-20mins every 2-3 days to start with and slowly build it up. It’s such a nice way to improve stress levels as it gives you a little time to yourself before the rush of your day starts . . . . . #naturopath #naturopathmanly #sydneynaturopath #naturopathy #sydneynaturopath #nutrition #health #adrenalfatigue #adrenals #fatigue See more
07.01.2022 My next tip for improving energy and adrenal health is to spend a little time grounding in nature everyday. 5-10mins will do if that is all you can fit in! Research shows that spending time outdoors in nature’s improves our stress hormone levels and our mood. My pick is always the beach. But a bushwalk, walk around a park or even just a little quiet time in your backyard will do the job. Take your shoes off and dig your feet into the grass/dirt/sand! #energy #nature #adrenals #adrenalfatigue #stress #anxiety #naturopath #naturopathsydney #sydneynaturopath #naturopathmanly #natupathnorthernbeaches

04.01.2022 Have you ever wondered if you have a food intolerance? This is a list of the most common food intolerances that I see in my patients. Food intolerances can cause an array of symptoms such as bloating, constipation, reflux, IBS, eczema, hayfever, asthma, headaches and another skin issues. I like to run a blood test to detect food intolerances- much easier and clearer than an elimination style diet which can take a long time and is super restrictive! 02.01.2022 Who else is exhausted from this crazy year? . Myself and my tired boys are ready for a big break over summer. This year has been far from normal and I’m seeing so many depleted and exhausted Mummas the last few week. The grind to the end of the year is intense! So much pressure on shopping, socialising and winding everything up. Here are some of my tips to help you survive the last few weeks of the year: 1- Go to bed early. Super early! 8:30pm or 9pm is a reasonable time ...to be asleep when your days are full and your tired. Our body needs lots of sleep before midnight to help restore adrenal function. 2- Don’t slip into the habit of having extra coffee- one a day is plenty and more than this will make you feel wired and more tired. 3- Find 15mins each afternoon for physical body rest- have a power nap, listen to a guided relaxation, read a book. 4- Don’t skip meals- low blood sugar further increased cortisol and will make you feel more stressed. 5-Start your day slow- better to wake a little earlier than rush around like a crazy person from the moment you get up. I hope these tips help you to survive the crazy holiday season #naturopath #sydneynaturopath #naturopathsydney #naturopathmanly #naturopathnorthernbeaches #adrenalhealth #stress #anxiety See more
