25.01.2022 As a valued supporter and ally of our Rainbow on the Plains Festival I would like to let you all know that the Board has made the difficult decision to go into recess. We feel it is our responsibility to keep our community safe, and without being able to attract visitors from the east coast and Victoria we are concerned at the Festival’s viability. We are heartbroken, not only for ourselves given the love we have for this beautiful event, but for those who have been, or are, ...affected by Covid-19. We are living in such an incredibly trying time, and as much as we’d prefer to be bringing colour and glitter into our ally’s lives, we cannot put that wish ahead of the safety and well-being of the vulnerable people in our town. Last Tuesday evening we made the tough decision to not host a Festival in Hay, until such time as a proven vaccine is readily available. Our band of organisers cannot thank you enough for your support and the kindness you have shown us and our concept. From the bottom of our rainbow hearts we hope to see you back at Rainbow on the Plains as soon as possible. We are fortunate to have the services of our Executive Officer for just a little longer, so if you have any queries please contact Jade [email protected].

24.01.2022 Did you see us?!?!?!? Rainbow on the Plains just featured as part of Global Pride 2020 - too incredible!!! Global Pride had just kicked off this afternoon and is a 24 hour online Pride event - check out the rest of their incredible line up over on the socials or website. Enjoy our little inclusive inclusion to this groundbreaking event

20.01.2022 Show your support for one of our major backers of our event. Without the continued support of Tania and Club Board we would never have achieved all that we have for inclusion in regional NSW!

14.01.2022 We are so proud of this amazing person! Without Krista our event would not exist (as it was her brainchild) and have gone on to inspire others. Krista Schade is now a published writer and we cannot recommend her debut book "The Clothesline" more highly. Follow the link below https://www.facebook.com/KristaSchadeWriter/

14.01.2022 Don't forget peeps, FATHER'S DAY raffle drawn this Saturday 7pm! Hay Services Club & Fitness Centre are proud sponsors of our event and support local businesses 365 days a year!

06.01.2022 Every child, no matter who they are, no matter their circumstances, deserves a valued place in their school-- in an environment that welcomes them and supports ...them to learn and grow. Mark Latham's ignorance in education Bill prohibits schools from teaching that trans and gender diverse people exist and should be treated with respect. It prohibits school counsellors from affirming a trans or gender diverse student or providing them with any support or referrals to gender affirming support. And in the last few months especially, we have seen the level of care that teachers put into their jobs. Our teachers often go above and beyond to make sure their students feel included and cared for in their school. This Bill threatens to punish teachers that want to welcome and support trans and gender diverse students. 06.01.2022 Calling all Rainbow Community Elders

06.01.2022 ACON wants to hear from you! They're looking to consult with everyone living in regional NSW* about what they’d like to see from ACON in the coming financial year. This survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete, and will be open until Friday 14 August, and can be completed here: https://www.aconhealth.org.au/regional-community-survey... Community members who complete the survey will have the option to go into the draw to win 1 of 5 $50 gift cards, drawn after the survey closing date. For questions about this survey, you can contact: [email protected] (*This broadly means outside of metro Sydney, however still includes areas such as Penrith. Unsure if this includes your area? Check out ACON’s Regional Map: https://www.acon.org.au/who-we-are-here-for/regional-nsw/)

05.01.2022 Congratulations Liam
