18.01.2022 2011 Holden Cruze 1.4L Turbo "A14NET" With most turbo exhaust manifolds being time consuming to repair when they blow/leak its always a good idea to machine the manifold before refitting. This particular one did not have a leak when on vehicle but took .010" to clean up the surface.

18.01.2022 Renault Kangoo: After purchasing the vehicle knowing it had a "miss" the customer had to remove the cylinder head to find the cause. We found 8x bent exhaust valves. So it was a miracle the engine was running at all.... after a full set of exhaust valves and a valve grind it is good to go again.

12.01.2022 Toyota Hiace 2TR Cylinder Head: Another job complete and waiting on the front counter for collection. Its easy to ignore these bush fires burning everywhere when you are not right in the middle of it all but even something as trivial as parts for this head were delayed due to bush fires affecting freight. Obviously getting parts a day or so late is nothing but it makes you feel for all the people who are really doing it tough and are affected badly by these fires.

11.01.2022 Hemi 5.7 V8: Another pair of heads with dropped inserts in need or repair. I suspect that they don't give these 5.7 heads enough interference when they install the inserts at factory. Once they get a bit hot the inserts just 'fall' out causing destruction. Not the most fun repair job but its got to be done. If I get a spare minute I hope to put together a little slideshow to show the steps involved in repairing this type repair.

11.01.2022 2011 Holden Cruze 1.4L Turbo "A14NET" What machining .015" bend out of a cylinder head looks like.

11.01.2022 Daihatsu Rocky: We were unable to supply a cylinder head locally as our suppliers were out of stock so the customer bought his own direct from china. Although its pretty standard practice of ours to re-cut the seats on any new cylinder head that we supply due to the quality rarely up to our standard but this head was next level bad. with a freshly faced valve fitted and sitting hard against the seat there was at least a 1mm gap on one side. There was more time involved in getting the valves sealing on this new head than we would typically spend on re-seating a used one.

09.01.2022 Three 300 tdi Land Rover cylinder heads all in a row. All for local 4wd hire business. Planning ahead in case of any breakdowns over the Christmas break hire period.

08.01.2022 2011 Holden Cruze 1.4L Turbo "A14NET" Before and after preparing the block surface with our block stones. This particular block was sunken .003" in all the critical areas around the cylinders and was completely flat after preparing using our block stones.... .003" may not sound like a lot but it makes all the difference when repairing a blown head gasket and ensures the repair is long lasting.

08.01.2022 Toyota Prado 3.4L V6 (5VZ-FE): - Fully reconditioned and ready for customer to pickup

04.01.2022 Toyota Land Cruiser 1HZ: Another reconditioned head finished and ready for collection

02.01.2022 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.7L V6 (H27A):

01.01.2022 Ford Intake Manifold: Take note in the pictures as we have scribbled over the whole surface in black pen so you can see all the low spots on the grinder. It shows that even when you purchase a brand new manifold its critical to make sure it is fitting properly. Also its possible that even though it is 'new' doesn't mean that it hasn't had a terrible surface machining job when it was manufactured.
