23.01.2022 HBF provided Full Circle Therapies with a community grant in October 2019 to construct a sensory nature garden for children in the Goldfields with Autism and special needs. Full Circles previous playground equipment was old, non-compliant and broken, with uneven concrete paths making it difficult for staff to manoeuvre clients in wheelchairs. Linda and Hayley from our Kalgoorlie Branch attended the opening. They saw how the garden and playground would nurture and enrich chil...dren who experience complex sensory integrative challenges. The centre caters for 88 children and hopes to expand, with 46 more children on their waitlist.

Earlier this week we renamed our head office during a NAIDOC Week ceremony as one of our first steps in commitment to genuine reconciliation. HBF HQ has been renamed Walburniny (Wal-bur-niyn) | Kings Square 4. Walburniny is the Noongar word which means 'to bring good health'. We worked w...ith Whadjuk Noongar and language speaker Sandra Harben and other Whadjuk Noongar representatives Geri Hayden, Jack Collard and Ryan Humphries, who made recommendations for the name based on our commitment to being there for members in the moments that matter. Our naming ceremony was followed by the unveiling of our newly commissioned Aboriginal artwork 'Bush Medicine Leaves Dreaming' by emerging Northern Territory artist Caroline Numina Napananka. #NAIDOC2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe #ReconciliationWA
