18.01.2022 Did you know you can paste a picture you created using the Snipping Tool directly into a Facebook chat using Ctrl & V?

18.01.2022 EXCEL Tip: To insert more than one row at a time, select the number of rows that you want to insert, then right mouse click and choose INSERT. The same works for columns.

13.01.2022 Office 365 - Word update: The latest update to Word 2016 gives you the ability to insert and edit approximately 500 logos. Choose Insert | Icons to see the range:

11.01.2022 Following on my post about backups the other day. If you're using Outlook please ensure that your *.pst or *.ost files are also backed up. These can get corrupted and if you don't have a backup you may lose emails. The location for these can be found in Outlook by choosing File | Info | Account Settings (twice) and then clicking on the Data File tab:

09.01.2022 Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas. And stay tuned for next year - looking at releasing a range of new courses!

09.01.2022 WORD Tip: I have realised that not many people know what this icon does in Word. It's the CHANGE CASE icon, for all those times where you've typed in capitals and then realised you shouldn't have. SHIFT & F3 is the short cut key for the same action.

07.01.2022 Backups, backups, backups. A client this week took her computer to be serviced as the fan was noisy (and her external hard drive backup system hadn't been working very well). Turns out that her hard drive was on the edge of dying and her external hard drive backup hadn't been working AT ALL!!!... The technician managed to transfer her data across to a new hard drive, but she did lose some files - I managed to find a copy of most of these elsewhere on her machine (a copy she inadvertently made). Today, I visited another client who has HUNDREDS of photos on her computer, and you guessed it, no backup for them in place. She was backing up important letters and other documents but hadn't thought about the pictures. So please, take the time to ensure that you have a back up system in place, check that it is working and make sure it is backing up everything you need. And if you don't have one currently, a couple of USB keys is a quick and easy way to get started.

07.01.2022 OUTLOOK TIP: Do you wish you could just "opt out" of a conversation that really doesn't concern you, however, initially you were included in the addresses? The IGNORE icon on the HOME tab (Version 2010 and above) allows you to do just that. It will remove any messages from that conversation out of your Inbox to the Deleted items folder. Any future messages in that conversation will also go straight to the deleted items folder.
