25.01.2022 Jesus had a habit of giving what people what they needed, not what they wanted. I hate that. When people wanted one definitive answer from Jesus he gave them two (Matt 22.34-40). Love God. Love your neighbour. Easy peasy. It's hard to mess up when I only have one thing to do. But having two things means that I'll always drop one... So if you struggle with balancing these two things, why not join the rest of us this Sunday at 8am, 10am or 5pm in person or on ZOOM as we find ways to better balance our lives.

19.01.2022 The concept of equality has had a peculiar life among Christians. Jesus' parable about the workers in the vineyard (Matt 20.1-16) highlights many of the tensions that this concept poses to us. Christians have found ways to wriggle free from its implications for our life together as it upsets our preferences for order and privilege. Why not come along to our services at 8am, 10am and 5pm to discover how we might embrace equality more fully than ever before?

15.01.2022 Have you ever met a saint? We often associate saints with super holy heroes from the past or professionals who put their lives on the line for others like nurses or firefighters. Yet such a picture can obscure a deeper reality. What makes a saint isn't their inherent goodness, holiness or bravery. Rather, God makes saints by calling out something within us that we never knew we had. So this Sunday let's give thanks for all the saints that have gone before us, those we know now and those that we are becoming.

11.01.2022 Sometimes I wonder if my special power is the ability to turn green traffic lights red. My family wishes that I used this gift less frequently. Sadly, many of our greatest gifts never get much use. Love sits on a shelf. Hope gathers dust. Faith lies in bed. These gifts are given to us for the sake of others. So why not bring your gift along to church this Sunday either in person at our 8 am or 10am services or online at 5pm?

07.01.2022 What does a relationship with God look like in our world today? Judging by how most Christians talk, you'd think it was about getting out of jail free. Jesus draws a different picture with the parable of the unforgiving servant (Matt 18.23-34). Too often faith is used as a shield for the privileged when it is an invitation to build a better world where forgiveness allows us put wrong things right. Why not come along or join us on Zoom to discover a fresh way of Christian living this Sunday at 8am, 10am or 5pm? https://adcg.zoom.us/j/8820962366

04.01.2022 Most of our goals are economic, educational or personal in nature. Spiritual goals are different. They about becoming the person God intends for us to be. The catch is that we can't achieve them by ourselves. We need each other. Paul the Apostle had one goal (Philippians 3.10-11) - to know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him from death to resurrection. Why not join us this Sunday at 8 and 10am as we discover our spiritual goals? Please note that 5pm Conversations is in recess during school holidays, resuming 18 October.
