22.01.2022 Message From VicRoads...Keeping clearways clear We’re introducing changes to clearways to keep traffic flowing smoothly on Melbourne’s busy roads. From Tuesday 1 December 2020, all existing 221 clearways on major roads will become tow-away zones, within 20-kilometres of Melbourne’s CBD. ... Clearways and tow-away zones keep traffic moving safely and smoothly by making sure there are no parked cars blocking key roads during peak times. Vehicles parked in tow-away zones during restricted times will be impounded. Drivers who park illegally in the signed tow-away zones during restricted times will be fined, in addition to the vehicle release fee. We’ll progressively install the new tow-away signs throughout September. While vehicles illegally parked in the new tow-away zones may be fined during this time, they won’t be towed away. There will be a total of 326 clearways with tow-away zone status on major roads within 20-kilometres of Melbourne by Tuesday 1 December 2020. To report a vehicle illegally parked in a tow-away zone, please contact Nationwide Towing on 13 48 69. Thank you for ensuring tow-away zones stay clear. 05.01.2022 Are you into Halloween? This year, it’s important you know how to stay safe from ghosts, ghouls, monsters, and #COVID19 Halloween fun is all about great co...stumes. Remember, a costume mask isn’t the same as a protective mask but why not decorate a protective face mask to match your outfit? When celebrating Halloween, meet with your friends in a public space like the park, keep your distance, and practise good hygiene. Don’t share food or drinks. Even if you can’t trick or treat, there’s lots of fun ways to have a spooky Halloween while staying at home. Decorate the house, watch scary movies, make creepy cakes or go on a scavenger hunt.
