25.01.2022 First round of our free health and reality checks.

22.01.2022 When you need to light your BBQ quickly.

22.01.2022 Thanks to Carlin for choosing HCW to look after his car. Carlin's 2015 WRX was in today for a service and a custom tune via his Cobb Accessport. His goals were to fix driveability issues with the tune he had already loaded on his car. Although the supplied Cobb tune was appropriate for his mods it wasn't exactly sitting happy with his car. We found the motor to be reporting knocking under moderate and heavy acceleration. We then adjusted the tune to suit his car and fix the d...riveability issue that he was complaining of. Honestly nothing special about this power figure as reliability and longevity of the motor was top priority. If this is something you would like for your WRX feel free to message us to see what we can do for you.

21.01.2022 We're finally on Instagram. Head on over and give us a follow to see our work we do daily.

21.01.2022 We would like to thank Jason for choosing HCW to look after his vehicle. Jason took us up on our free dyno health on his high km bug eye WRX and it made exactly the power we would expect. He had a certain power goal to achieve and so we went ahead and selected parts and gave advice on what he would need to achieve 200kws. After having his stock motor tuned by us only a few weeks prior he bought it back for the next round of upgrades. A vf34 turbo, Walbro fuel pump and bosch... injectors were installed and tuned by us all in house. You could say his car has totally transformed from the stock measly power of 127kw to now 201kw. Although he has lost some early-mid power with this turbo he has gained quite a lot up top which is where he intends to spend most of his time. Enjoy Jason!

18.01.2022 Elvis's 2008 WRX making just under 180kw through the factory motor, with over 250,000k on the clock. This is running a VF52 a CAI and turbo back exhaust. This is a great result and will be looking at building the motor in the future. Looking to get your car built and tuned? Contact us today! Phone:90771464 or send us a FB message

17.01.2022 We want to briefly (stick with us here) talk about dyno tuning and in particular our dyno at HCW. Costa just purchased this clean Hawkeye STI which came from interstate with every bit of documentation for its modified life. Costa was provided with two previous dyno papers. One graph was a tune for 98 octane fuel and we agreed with the power it was claiming. The other graph was a tune for E85 with a power figure claiming close to 250awkws.... Costa dropped the car to us and chatted for a little while and he told us how quick it was and how he was stoked with the power it was making. We thought "yeah good for him" and we loved that he was happy with it. We then told him he wouldn't get anywhere near that power level on our dyno with his mods. For reference the mods on his car include: 3 inch turbo back exhaust 2.5 inch axle back muffler ID1000 cc injectors Fuel pump (of some sought) PSR silicone intake with process west cold air intake PSR equal length headers Turbo smart fuel regulator Turbo smart 7psi wastegate For those in the know this is a pretty basic list of mods (call it stage 1). The lack of an intercooler upgrade and turbo upgrade is what's holding this car back. A dyno is just a tuning tool at the end of the day and your power figure doesn't matter. What matters is how the car drives and feels and how many other cars you chop with more power. If you've ever not chosen us to tune your Subaru because "HCW cars don't make the power that other places make" then you should really think about the previous paragraph. We've pushed these cars beyond their limits and we're telling you if this car made 250awkw on our dyno with a stock motor then poor Costa would regret ever purchasing this car. After telling Costa the results of his 3 dyno pulls as it came in he was pretty upset and his thoughts about the car changed. We wished we never told him because he still would have been living in a ignorant bliss about his car. But at the same time we're happy we did as I would hate to be upset about losing to another Sti that actually makes 220awkw on our dyno. If you've had your car tuned by another workshop we invite you down to have a health and reality test on our dyno - free of charge! If you can provide your original dyno papers then that's even better! For the most part we're more interested to see what other chassis dynos make and this is why we're offering you this. Remember the dyno is just a tool and not a measurement of how big your dong is. We would encourage you to go to the race track and see how well your car performs. The only number that matters is your trap speed at the drag strip. Check the captions in the dyno graphs for an explanation.

17.01.2022 So good to catch up with everyone at Glenny Kababs. Stay safe people. Team HCW

16.01.2022 We finally got around to painting our own track car recently. We kept the colour pretty close to the original. We can't wait to debut it at the track. Tell us what you think about it.

16.01.2022 The post send it tune launch

14.01.2022 Jason's bug eye WRX all tuned up on corn juice making a solid 239kw. Jason started his journey with us when he took up our free dyno health check earlier this year. Since then he's transformed his car by adding roughly 110kw from it's standard form. Well done Jason! A very impressive result. Bring on the next round of mods Mods include VF34 p20 turbo with billet compressor wheel Process west intercooler and intake... Prospeed racing silicone intake pipe 3inch turbo back exhaust and de cat up pipe Link G4+ ecu Walbro 460 fuel pump and Bosch 1170cc injectors See more

10.01.2022 Thanks to Wpm Box Hill for choosing us to tune their Nissan 300zx. This car sports a Haltech Elite 2000, upgraded Garrett gt2554r turbos, 3 inch exhaust and and custom intercooler and intake system. Initially the car made a measly 150rwkws but now pumps out 256kws with a substantial increase in torque across the entire rev range. A better intercooler in more direct air flow and larger dump pipes should net more power out of this package.

09.01.2022 We had Conners super clean legacy in for some love this week. Running a VF30, WRX factory top mount and a power fc. The result was great and will be looking at upgrading the ecu in the future Looking to get your car tuned? Contact us today!... Phone: 90771464 or send us a FB message. See more

07.01.2022 Calibrating the new Speedo drive on the freeway. . We have plans to swap to a long ratio gearbox and most likely that won't have a road speed sensor. We deleted the abs early on when building the car so we repurposed an abs sensor to show us road speed. This was a pretty simple task thanks to the @haltechecu engine management system we have

07.01.2022 Micky's car here is running around 270kw and he was reporting a miss fire under high rpm on the street. Micky was smart enough to know there was something wrong with his ignition system so he decided to be our test mule for the new Ichiban/Lamspeed GTR coil kit. Before fitting them we decided to do a back to back test on the dyno to see how they perform. We managed to only get one clean run on the dyno before spark breakdown decided to show up which resulted in 265kw. After ...installing the ingnition coil kit and gapping his spark plugs we changed his ignition dwell settings in his ecu for his new coils and ran the car back up. This time the car produced 270kw. The same number this car has produced before. We were pretty sceptical about the claims we heard about the increase in power the GTR coil kit could provide and we were proven right; there was no real gain from stronger ignition coils at this power level. If you are planning a big boost application (30+ psi) or you want to upgrade from an older wasted spark ignition system or if your ignition coils are on the way out then this kit is for you. Don't buy this kit in the hopes it will give you more power because it won't unless you have a problem with your current coils. The overall finish and quality of this kit is top notch. The provided adapter harnesses and billet coil adapters make this kit super simple to make work for your car. Also shoutout to Charles from Lamspeed for giving us some install tips. If you plan to install this kit yourself then you will need to unbolt the engine mounts and raise the motor slightly to slide in the new coils. The coil boots provided don't have the most positive feel when they slide into the spark plug hole and it's very easy to miss the boot on the spark plug. @ HCW Automotive

06.01.2022 Looking forward to getting this Haltech ECU installed and tuned. Allowing full functionality of all features. Stay tuned for the results! Contact us for all your ECU packages, mechanical and tuning needs!

05.01.2022 We must say this Legnum was a pleasure to tune. Super easy and super simple cars to tune. Fred supplied us with a 3port boost controller and fuel pump to fit along with some new spark plugs for good measure. We managed to increase torque output by about 50-30nms through the mid range and gain 13kws of peak power. Unfortunately anything over about 14psi of boost saw bad misfiring so we had to limit the power at 155kws for now until a new ignition system is sorted. Even at relatively low power output these cars feel fantastic on the road to drive. We're sure Fred will be happy with the results of today and we hope we continue to see this car in the future.
